2013 General College Football Thread

Fly4FunI'll start this off with a post about Jeremy Hill getting extended probation for pleading guilty to a fight that broke his previous probation for having "carnal knowledge" of an underage girl. Oh ya, the presiding judges for both offenses were LSU graduates.
Les Miles was a stickler with this punishment, he left it up to the players who voted to allow Jeremy Hill back on the team.
I sure hope he learned his lesson from all this harsh discipline.

Miles suspensed honey badger after a million failed tests. What more do you want!! -
lhslep134Great thread but even better topic. Un-freaking-believable what happened down there in the bayou. Oh wait, it's Les Miles and above the law LSU, nevermind.

I honestly don't understand how he got off lol
I mean I do (SEC FOOTBAWL!!!) but really, you'd think the law is above college football. Lol -
AutomatikI couldn't even support a fuckhead like this on my squad. He could be a Heisman candidate...don't care. That is bush league bitch behavior. See yourself off my team and campus.

Dan GilbertI remember my senior year our basketball coach tried to pull the "senoir voting on suspension" trick with the 4 of us. Our star player had a blow up at a game, basically cussed out the entire school section and made a big scene at a catholic school. He asked the 4 of us what should he do. We had two cake games coming up before the tournament, so we just told him to suspend him for 2 games knowing we would win without him. Like we were really going to drop the hammer on your friend and best player.
Les Miles is and will always be a tool. -

Classyposter58I like Les Miles on Gamedays though, his sound bites and willingness to coach a college football game exactly like most play it on the PS3 is awesome

ROCK THE VOTE. Truth-teller and TCU head ball coach Gary Patterson is less than impressed with Les Miles' handling of Jeremy Hill.
Hill, a master sucker puncher with a taste for 14-year old girls, was allowed back on the LSU squad after Miles decided the best course of action was to let Hill's teammates vote on if he should be allowed to return. Naturally, a unanimous vote restored Hill's spot on the team and no further punishment was handed down though Les did mention he reserves the right to administer an actual penalty. Translation, Miles prefers to do nothing but might change his mind depending on public outcry.
Patterson, who takes on LSU in the season opener for both teams later this month, reminded everyone how he handled his own star player's punishment, Devonte Neal, and as a result of actually teaching "life lessons", Neal was suspended for two games and zero team votes were conducted:
My whole team would vote Devonte to be back on the team because they all want to win. That doesn't teach life lessons.
Even Gregg Doyel isn't impressed with Les:
But really, what can Les do? He's only the head coach. Just a dandelion, blowing in the breeze. It's the 19- and 20-year-olds who make the decisions at LSU, and the kids have decided: Jeremy Hill, the best running back on the team, can stay on the team.
This is new territory for Miles, who honored his scholarship offer to Hill out of high school even after Hill pleaded guilty to having "carnal knowledge" of an underage girl. What does having "carnal knowledge" mean? According to the Baton Rouge police department, it means Hill -- when he was a 6-foot-1, 220-pound high school senior -- pressured a 14-year-old girl to perform oral sex on him and a buddy in a school locker room. Jeremy Hill was 18, and huge, and he had a friend with him. She was 14 ... and alone.
Les to Jeremy Hill: Here's your scholarship, but don't do that again!
Les Miles, Michigan man.

Thats actually not bad. I thought itd be very close to 100 -
Midstate01Lousiville at 98. A lot od talk about what would happen if them and osu were undefeated and an sec team had 1 loss. No way Lousiville gets in over osu.
He actually has osu at 67 not 68, unless im the one reading that wrongly. -

Tigers agree to neutral site games starting the 2014 and 2016 seasons with Wisconsin
http://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2013/08/lsu_wisconsin_to_play_neutral.htmlLSU will play the Badgers in Reliant Stadium in Houston to open the 2014 season and the Tigers will venture to the Packers historic home [Lambeau Field] in Green Bay to play the Badgers in a return game in the 2016 opener.
cfb at Lambeau Field is neat.......Reliant not so much -
Fly4Fun
I'm not a huge fan of alternate venues such as NFL stadiums to make the game unique or special. What makes college football great is the tradition and history of the game which does involve the stadiums of the teams. Now I will concede that Lambeau does have it's own history and tradition, so I could understand the argument for that, as you pointed out it would be "neat."Mohican00;1484433 wrote:In other LSU news.........

But in general I think it's a bad idea. Also, I always laugh at the idea that these are neutral games, will the crowd be less one-sided? Sure. But are they neutral? No. -
SportsAndLadyLSU @ Wisky at Lambeau will be great

Fly4FunLSU lineman receives another concussion. He was out for 5 minutes and has had concussion problems in the past.
For his sake I hope Les Miles doesn't leave his medical status up to a team vote.

What a great atmosphere to watch a college game in...you going? That's not too far of a drive from Chicago, is it??SportsAndLady;1484487 wrote:LSU @ Wisky at Lambeau will be great -
Dan GilbertMichael Dyer is also back to playing football at L'ville. After two solid seasons at Auburn, getting booted from the University and not playing a down since. Charlie Strong said it was about second chances and the future not the past.
But with the team L'vill already has, I bet Dyer was a prize pick up for the Cardinals. -

I won't be going most likely. 3 years is a hard time to plan ahead for.
I will be going to GB/Browns this year though. -
vball10set^^^sorry, not having looked at their schedules, I thought that game was this year...was it tough getting the Browns/Packers ticket?

Don't have it yet. My best friend out here is a huge packers fan so were going. He got a playoff ticket last year for a hundred bucks pretty easily so we should be fine.
