Carlos Hyde to be kicked off OSU football team!

So the latest is an eyewitness that says that Hyde did touch her, but he just pushed her face away ( I believe it's called "mush") after she hit him

    Did they draw a diagram?

They did not. Obviously the lack of a diagram makes them less credible than Mindy Drayer

Take it FWIW, but A player on Akron's men's basketball team (MAC 6th man of year) was suspended from basketball all season and even kicked out of school for a year. He supposedly hit his ex gf, but I believe it ended up being a "mush" and he was never charged. I'm not sure how much the coach would have disciplined him, but school politics came into play and that's
    Where he got screwed.

Obviously don't know what will happen in this case, but its a possibility.

Worth nothing, IMO. Different school, different sport, different coach, and most importantly different circumstances

Akron men's ball =/= Ohio State football

Pick6 is so stupid. First he tries to hate on those who aren't criticizing Hyde because he's been slapped numerous times before by women, and he just walked away. Great argument there.

Then he tries to compare it, like lep said, to a completely different situation.

Just STFU and wait until the facts come out.

I don't think anyone is justifying his actions. I think everyone is pretty much in agreement that Hyde's circumstances didn't warrant any physical contact back. Our off topic conversation is about whether and under which circumstances you would respond.

I'm guessing it looked something like this (only a white on white version)

You could have looked it up since you mentioned it, but here is a link to the story. He had two incidents, and the incident that is most similar to Hyde's was the second; although both involved his girlfriend. According to the report, the first incident involved him throwing a plate at the victim's head and the police were unable to make contact with him. I'm not sure if that indicates that he was uncooperative.

Go fuck yourself. I am waiting until facts come out before I make any judgement. However, I dont condone hitting a girl unless its extreme circumstances. Is it that hard for you to have a conversation without being a straight douche bag?

I dont need to look it up because Im quite familiar with the situation. Nothing ever came of either situation (meaning charged, or any evidence), and he was still kicked out of school for a year.

Based on your description, I wouldn't categorize his fate as "getting screwed", unless we're going to set the bar of acceptable behavior as not being charged or convicted of a crime.

Since you were quite familiar with the situation, did you purposely leave out that there were two incidents? Or was that too much information to try to equate the two situations?

Would you agree that Hyde would be getting screwed if he wasnt charged and was suspended from school for a year ? I would.

I left out the other incident because it was irrelevant to Hyde's case and it was irrelevant overall. Diggs had a psycho ex. They were false accusations and he got screwed.

Anyways, Im done discussing the topic. I only brought it up as a possible worst case scenario for Hyde. Wasnt accusing him of anything. Didnt realize everybody would get their panties in such a bunch over it.

I agree that it does sound like the punishment was too harsh. That being said, if you are going to present a comparable situation as evidence that he could be kicked off the time, it's disingenuous to leave out a critical piece of information that made the other situation worse than Hyde's.

That would depend on how the student code of conduct speaks to such situations. The bar, I would assume, is again higher than "don't get arrested". At least I hope it is.

Has this been reported on as a possibility from any reputable source, or is this a hypothetical?

Often schools have student codes of conduct and systems of dealing with those that allegedly break the codes of conduct that are entirely independent of the legal system. Just because he wasn't charged and/or found guilty of something in the legal system does not mean the school did not use it's own code of conduct and disciplinary system to resolve the matter he was involved in.
