No mention of his "shot" at Notre Dame? (which, while really corny seems to truly be a lame attempt at humor and not insulting, at least to me anyway): http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/college-football/news/20130530/ohio-state-gordon-gee-notre-dame.ap/?sct=hp_t2_a3&eref=sihp

Ugh. Gordon is great at speaking to academics. He should limits his comments to that.
Thanks for making us the laughing stock of the country today.

He should definitely shut up when it comes to sports.

Urban should fire him for the anti Catholic remarks.

if that did happen, he'd get hired in a second at Michigan.

As for the remarks, meh. Not really a big deal, more of a media thing as usual. Probably shouldn't have been said but it is what it is.

Excuse the double negative, but he absolutely shouldn't have not said it (I don't mean he should have said it, but that it's whack to say he shouldn't have said it if that makes sense). It was said to an Ohio State Athletics Council meeting, to only OSU representatives. He shouldn't feel the need to censor himself simply because the AP decided to dig up a record of the meeting, which is why I agree with you that it's more of a media thing.

The timing of the release of this story is very interesting since it was said in December and now ND has some problems with Golson

lol, I'd love to see you point out the possible connection between the two, I'm sure it would be solid.

I'll just be done with this story though, really more a case ofthe media trying to stir something up in the down time of college athletics than anything else.

The top goal of Big Ten presidents is to "make certain that we have institutions of like-minded academic integrity," Gee said. "So you won't see us adding Louisville," a member of the Big East conference that is also joining the ACC.
After a pause followed by laughter from the audience, Gee added that the Big Ten wouldn't add the University of Kentucky, either.
    haha, Kentucky

It's only strange because he's a University President. You just don't usually hear these types of things from them.

It's 2013 though. Things will be dug up, recorded (audio/visual), etc. I remember Weis making some comment about Michigan during an ND alum banquet or some event like that....someone recorded his comments about Michigan on their cell and it went public and viral.

I get what you're saying but in this day and age....you have got to be more aware of things like that. Gotta watch what you say because it's gonna get out there and when it does....you're gonna have to answer for it.
