ok it was Maryland-Baltimore whatever. You & Midstate feel better now?

I didn't say the SEC was academically better, just pointing out a fact about standards. Don't get your jimmies in a wad. Gee is still a moron with his 'Little Sisters / Polish Army / Catholics / etc jokes.

It was on NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, made OSU look really bad.

As an alum, he needs to be fired.

    He is a joke!

We're talking about the overall quality of the universities, not just sports.

Your anecdotal example shows the academic standards for athletic transfers between the conferences are different. Not tougher, different. It would be entirely possible to come up with an anecdotal example that counters yours. In any event, it disproves nothing from my previous post. Overall, the SEC schools aren't in the same galaxy as the B1G universities.

Saying Gee a moron is like saying LeBron James sucks (ie wghfan)...just sayin'

I have friends that were seriously offended by Gee's remarks about Notre Dame.

Personally, I could not care less. I get that he was trying to make a joke. It's really no big deal. Everyone knows that if the interest was there, Ohio State would love having ND in the conference. Between OSU and ND...the revenue the conference would bring in would be insane.

Tell your friends to clean their vaginas. How anyone can be "personally offended" by this is a straight up light skinned vagina. Feel disrespected? Sure, maybe. Didn't think he should have said it? Fine. But seriously personally offended? Lmao

I'm going to have to agree with this. Of all of the things Catholics could be offended of (poor jokes, the Pope, child buggering), this is the last thing in the world to be offended of.

That said, it was a poor joke, and I'm not a fan of Gee, but I can't imagine anyone being offended by this.

Oh I agree 100%. I think it boils down to the fact that most of my friends dislike OSU. And because of that, they will try to find any reason to be offended/hate OSU.

It's pretty comical to see how riled up they get about stupid stuff.

Gee should stay out of athletic affairs, but to say he should be fired is ridiculous. He is great for the University on the academic and fundraising side.

No shit. Easily offended people usually are the biggest douches in the world.

This is now an outside the lines story. Lol seriously? ?

Bamas president supports segregation at the university but nobody cares about that...

Just imagine if what Gee said was changed from "Fathers" to "Rabbis" and from "Catholics" to "Jews". We all know where we'd be then. Gee would be on a plane to the Siman Weisenthal center as we speak and then he'd be guest hosting a special showing of Schindler's List tonight on PBS.

Just because the OSU board reacted like a bunch of PC lemmings doesn't mean Catholics have to take the bait and act offended when there's nothing to be offended by. I"m a Catholic and could care less.

Football is king. Until the season starts, all of the various media outlets need lots of filler material.

Gee: "They’d have to take Gene out and shoot him to let Cincinnati into the Big Ten. There are some things that we just would not to."
  • wildcats20
I find it hilarious that Rick Pitino is acting like the morality police on this.
  • Tiger2003
Gee also said the Big Ten should be "predatory" in expansion. He called not taking Mizzou and Kansas a mistake.
  • Scarlet_Buckeye
It's time for Gordon Gee to step down.
