College Basketball Random Chatter 2013-2014 Season

Moreso during recruiting. I've only watched them play a few times over the last 2 years. But yes, they are fucking giants!

I was bummed when UC Irvine lost so we couldnt see Mamadou Ndiaye.

Same with Alan Williams and UCSB but for production reasons, not because he is a freak of nature like Ndiaye.

I've believed for a long time that Mamadou Ndiaye could turn into the most dominant shot blocker in college basketball in the last 15 or 20 years. He's almost 7'7 and only a freshman. The dude absolutely destroyed Washington this season, sending back nine Husky shots mid flight. He looked like the Sears Tower out there.

Good game going on between Cal Poly and CS Northridge. Poly hits a three with 13 seconds left to go ahead one. This is why conference tournaments are so great. It's what college basketball in March is all about.

If Ndaiye had coach Calhoun he would be the best shot blocker ever lol. That guy knew how to turn projects into dominant defensive players.

ULL-Georgia State locked up at 72 with 1.5 to go on ESPN2.

Both these teams could win AT LEAST 1 in the Tourney.

Good games across the board. Why didn't they stagger the starts by 1/2 hour or something?

    Elfrid Payton comes up huge.

I got RJ Hunter for 3. Double OT

I think a free throw gets missed here and Harrow gets a chance to win it.

    Ragin Cajuns dancing.

ULL will be a fun and dangerous team, but I wouldve liked to see Georgia State. They are an even more dangerous team.

What's the sentiment with St Joe?

Elfrid Payton is my dude. Hoping he lights somebody up in the tournament.

If Chris Walker contributes like this for Florida, nobody beats them. It's literally like having Aaron Gordon or Noah Vonleh hidden on your bench...
  • Laley23
Yeah, I dont see who I can even fathom having Florida lose to until the Final Four...and even then it will be tough to pick against them.

They are my far and away pick to win it before the brackets come out.

I'm certainly glad Duke is likely to go south to be with Florida. Notice I didn't say to play.

Michigan State is en route, at the moment at least, to hammer Michigan. Fucking Nova might back into a one after all.

I wouldn't expect Florida to lose before at least the Elite 8, but they've let enough overmatched teams hang around enough that it wouldn't totally shock me (see the past month against Auburn, Ole Miss, Vandy, and Tennessee).

I don't either. Duke will be back in Durham by the time the Elite Eight rolls around so Florida will have about as great a bracket as a team could ask for.

The team that will beat Florida is a team who is more-talented AND a team who is lights out execution for the entire game. A team like Kentucky, who out-talents them, will NEVER out-execute them or out-coach them. Generally, I'm a fan of talent over everything else, but it's not like Florida has no talent. They don't have the top end first rounders, but they have 7 or 8 "pros" on their roster. Prather, Wilbekin, Young, Finney-Smith and Frazier could all have pro careers somewhere. Obviously Walker and Hill are the next coming, and probably 2 of the 3 most-talented on the team.

Florida isn't that good. They're in the fuckin SEC

Personally, I like Arizona over Florida, even without Ashley. When at their best, Arizona is the best team in the country. They have two of the best guards at their positions and a great front court. Florida might be as good, but certainly not better than Arizona. IMO.

Welp, add another to that list. Not that Kentucky is as overmatched as any of the others listed, but a dominant team would have stepped on the throat.

Florida will have the advantage of a fairly favorable bracket, at least as far its two seed goes (likely Duke), but if the Gators do reach the Big Show, today's game against Kentucky is proving why they'll be more than beatable.

Crazy finish to the Florida-Kentucky game. The Wildcats are gonna steal this one.
