College Basketball Random Chatter 2013-2014 Season

  • reclegend22
I'm watching Creighton and DePaul -- good game thus far -- and Grant Gibbs just went down with what appeared to be a pretty significant ankle injury. He was unable to put any pressure on it as he left the court. Might be a huge blow for Creighton. If Doug McDermott is the brains of the operation, Grant Gibbs is the heart.

DePaul hanging tough in the first half.

Wayne Selden looks amazing right now..wondering where this has been all season

Boise State travels to San Diego State tonight for an 11:00 showdown on ESPNU. Should be a great game.

Oklahoma getting the calls at home IMO

Is Embiid ONLY 7'0.....he looks about 7'2 out there.

I'd really ponder taking him #1 overall THIS year

He'd be my choice for sure. Parker is the only other guy I'd even consider at this point.

Hate that Stephen Bardo moved to the Big Ten Network, as it really limits his scope and the amount of games I can listen to him. He reminds me a lot in style and sound to one of my all-time favorite ESPN announcers, Brad Daugherty, who inexplicably left the college basketball booth in the early 2000s to talk about cars driving around in circles. Really miss that guy. He was awesome.

I think Parker is the better choice ( admit I haven't seen a ton).....but he looks like a gigantic Amare Stoudamire. They showed a clip of Hakeem....Jesus that 's enormous standard potential comparison.

Good road win for Kansas....tough environment, tough calls

Missouri loses at home to Georgia. Pathetic. Georgia blows.
Georgetown loses to a depleted Providence team by 18. Awful loss.

Embiid is my #1 pick. But, Ive been saying he was my #2 behind Wiggins since this past summer. He has been even better.

Amazing passer out of the post for someone who hasnt played much at all. He is going to be the next big thing in the NBA, big man wise, imo.

I was laughing at Bilas and the other guy last night talking about how Embiid should think about returning to KU for his sophomore season, as big men who stay for their soph year usually get drafted higher than if they would have come out as a frosh.

You can't get any higher than #1 overall, Jay lol

Most mocks still have Wiggins/Parker/Randle/Smart/Exum or some combination of the five ahead of Emiid, so I think that's what Bilas was speaking to. I doubt very seriously if Embiid goes sixth after what he's shown, but I also doubt that he'll go top two. Right now, Wiggins and Parker seem the likely favorites as well as Randle.

@chadfordinsider: By June? I’m thinking Joel Embiid might be No. 1 in 13 of 14 scenarios. He’s the “It” guy right now in NBA circles http://t.co/STK9BCRDfP

He's going to look very good in purple and gold next year, that's all I know.

Well was able to get cheap tickets from the guy I sold my OSU/MSU tix to for MSU/Minnesota this weekend. Should be awesome, behind the basket row 15 which 4 rows above the Izzone. Should be absolutely loud

Yeah you will-just like a bad accident, you'll just have to look.

Arizona and UCLA tonight should be a great night cap. This will be Arizona's biggest test yet, on the road in an amiable setting. Unfortunately, for UCLA, Pauley just isn't much of a home-court advantage most games. Maybe the No. 1 team in the nation coming the town will change that tonight. Regardless, I anticipate a close affair with the Bruins having a chance to win in the end.

Great road win by Memphis taking down Louisville
  • reclegend22
So sad. UCLA is hosting the No. 1 team in the country as well as a heated conference rival, and still nearly half the seats in the lower section of Pauley are lacking people. A pathetic excuse for a fan-base are Bruin fans. It's as bad as a typical NBA team's.

They haven't won anything in 20 years and they don't deserve to for another 20 either.
