Yeah, me neither. They were just talking about it.Laley23;1543242 wrote:Wait, the dude from Florida Gulf Coast???
I didnt even know he transfered. -
Laley23Also, I have to post this, since I was nice and didnt do it before the MSU game.
"The issue becomes playing teams (****like Cleveland St.****) this early is not fair for my team," Calipari said Thursday. "It may be fair for everybody else. But it's no fair for my team. …It's just not traditional in the sense everybody stays four years. So it's not fair when we walk in and everybody else is more experienced."
---Coach Cal -
wildcats20Hahaha Cal is a fucking joke.

I changed, as you probably figured, Michigan State for Cleveland State...but yeah. The fact he actually said that before the game, making an excuse in case they lost while also building up what would be an epic win, is ridiculous.wildcats20;1543250 wrote:Hahaha Cal is a fucking joke. -

I laughed very hard at that quote when I saw it before that MSU game.Laley23;1543252 wrote:I changed, as you probably figured, Michigan State for Cleveland State...but yeah. Just reeks of "here's my excuse if we lose tonight" -
Laley23
Yep. But, I think the worst part is that we KNOW it wouldve been spun as some amazing victory had his inexperienced team, at such a disadvantage, won the game.SportsAndLady;1543253 wrote:I laughed very hard at that quote when I saw it before that MSU game.

Laley23Love this quote from Dykes...

Varidel with 31 points at half. I don't know if he's hard to guard, Baylor has not tried yet -

I like the quote, but hate Jimmy Dykes.Laley23;1543255 wrote:Love this quote from Dykes...

Azubuike24I think Cal also knows a November win is meaningless. We can probably all agree with that. The whole point of the pre-conference schedule is to get experience in specific situations, on the road and in different neutral environments. That's why these teams schedule 3 games in 3 days, tournaments in places thousands of miles away.
Hell, you can roll everyone but if it doesn't prepare you for one of those crucial moments in March when it's execute or go home, it's meaningless. That's why despite the weird foul rules, NCAA idiocies and one and done, college basketball is the best. -
reclegend22Really hope that Varidel surpasses 43 points so that we never again have to hear about Adam Morrison legendarily scoring 43 points in one and a half games.

I mean I know you're defending your guy, but what the hell does that have to do with Cal's quote lolAzubuike24;1543265 wrote:I think Cal also knows a November win is meaningless. -
MulvaJordan Bachynski with his 7th block of the night to hang on to a 2 point win for ASU.
Edit: Also, student section got T'd up earlier in the game for throwing something on the court and Herb Sendek grabbed the mic and called them out. Would have been pretty awesome if they lost by 1. -
Azubuike24
He's gotta say whatever it takes to mold the team and the players to what he wants.SportsAndLady;1543275 wrote:I mean I know you're defending your guy, but what the hell does that have to do with Cal's quote lol
He's selfish. He wants to recruit the best talent, have a stacked team and also wants them to be unranked and fly under the radar.
I mean, how many coaches can have arguably one of the top 5 most disappointing teams one year, turn around be ranked preseason #1?
Had UK won the MSU game, I'm not sure what difference it would have made. It's going to be a team that will have to be knocked out again anyway, maybe in a rematch. Never know. -
SportsAndLadyArchie Miller's got a squad at UD. They move to 5-0 with a win over the 11th ranked Zaga Bulldogs.

PrescottAt least OSU fans know that Thad knows what a good shooter looks like. Jordan Sibert has scored in double figures in every game this year. With extended minutes against Georgia Tech and Gonzaga Sibert scored 20 and 23 points respectively and has gone 16/28 from the field and 9/19 behind the arc.
For the season: 15.9 ppg and 59% from the field. -

Really too bad Sibert wasn't willing to wait his turn. He coulda got some serious minutes last year as well as this year IMO. But it happens. Good to see him doing well.Prescott;1543421 wrote:At least OSU fans know that Thad knows what a good shooter looks like. Jordan Sibert has scored in double figures in every game this year. SportsAndLadyGood game in Maui between UD and Baylor
UD looks really good..wonder where Archie Miller will be coaching next year? -
reclegend22UNLV talks a lot of shit. My lord.
When Christian Wood checked into the game in the first half tonight for UNLV, I wanted to puke. But kid has played surprisingly well for somebody who has only registered two minutes all season. He's got 5 points, 2 or 3 boards, a blocked shot and can run the floor. I was a year off in my analysis of the kid, but next season he's going to be a real threat for the Rebels at 6-11 and with his face-up ability. -
Azubuike24Dayton kind of pissed this one away. Some bad shots. Gotta give it to Baylor. Not a huge fan of Drew, but they have some tough-nosed guys this year.
-
SportsAndLadyBaylor back on top by 1. 12 secs left
-
SportsAndLadyWow jus tmissed the tip in. Baylor hangs on
-
Azubuike24Baylor/Cuse tomorrow night. That's gonna be a good one.

reclegend22Vegas ran Illinois off the court over the final five minutes of the first half. If that team could just get all of its shit together, the talent there could take it to a Final Four. A big if based on the last couple of years, but the team is talented as hell. Smith and Birch are beasts on the block.
As for Archie Miller, I think Brian Gregory was at the helm of Dayton the year the Flyers won Maui, made the NCAAs, and then stayed for nine more years. Maybe Miller will stick around awhile. -
Azubuike24Gregory was a completely average coach too. If Archie proves to be superior, he's not staying more than 3 more.
