    I didn't realize this was 2006?

Well, I guess we'll have another game to figure into that average in about 6-7 weeks.

So I went to each game and added the rush attempts and pass attempts to find total number of offensive snaps for each opposing team. Obviously this won't be accurate as it doesn't account for how many snaps each player actually took... but I don't have that information so I just did the best I could with what I could find.

ND so far has had 706 defensive snap (64.2 per game). OSU has 800 (72.8 per game).

Shazier: Tackle every 7.3 snaps; TFL every 55 snaps; Sack every 200; PD every 80 snaps; etc.. for rest

Te'o: Tackle every 7.2 snaps; TFL every 128; Sack every 470; PD every 176; etc for rest.

Tackling rate is about even, but the difference in potential snaps doesn't really even it out for the other categories.

Thanks it is pretty interesting, I'm not say Shazier is a bad player at all, all I'm saying is manti has had a bigger impact on notre dame than shazier has had with Ohio st.

You really think ND is going to a win a championship? I mean really? It's not going to happen, sorry.

That wasnt what he said. If the end up in another BCS game they could change those stats as well.

Notre Dame is a lock for a BCS game. It just depends on which one. BCS Title Game, Fiesta Bowl or Orange Bowl...

The media told him. Most people are an extension or exaggeration of the media, not what they see.

If you can't see the impact te'o has had on ND's defense I dk what to tell ya. He always comes up with huge plays.

And Shazier doesn't do anything like punch the ball out of the arms of a guy with 900 carries and 2 career fumbles, on the goaline or anything.

Let's be honest, it wasn't the offense that won that game. It was the defense. Oregon has shown time and time again that it can be shut down by good defense.

Also (to be fair) I think ND would shut down Oregon in the same manner.

If Buckeyes can Close the Deal...which they will...Braxton is invited to NYC and ends up as runner-up to Calvin Klein. Man-zier is third and Mai Tai Warrior finishes 4th.

So Te'o is the only defensive player that makes plays and has an impact on this team?

Shazier has 65 more negative yards and 7 more points than te'o, yet te'o means more?

And like I said earlier, Te'o isn't even in the top 50 in tackles and TFLs, yet Shazier is. Hmmm.

Wait, I'm defending a Buckeye. Damn it! ;)

Shazier is the best player on an average defense. Congrats.

Shazier also has way more pbu's, 3 more ff's.

Impressive. Te'o has accounted for 8 turnovers and forced at least two others by pressuring QBs into bad throws. Hmmmm.

So not only is he better than te'o, but you are saying he has more impact on his team? I thought that is what made te'o the heisman candidate?
  • WebFire
For the record, Shazier isn't a Heisman contender either. Purely using him as a comparison.

So he is better than Shazier in 1 category. Impressive.
