I agree but if one guy has more plays then the other obviously he's going to have better stats because he played more. And looking at Shaziers stats he did alot of his damage against UAB, Cal, Purdue, and Illinois. Real tough competition there -

So what your saying is, he played his best when he was at the "ever so different" MLB position?Crimson streak;1324325 wrote:I agree but if one guy has more plays then the other obviously he's going to have better stats because he played more. I noticed Te'o played his worst against lower levels of competition. The best player in the country should excel against all competition right? -

Yeah, I wasn't saying it to favor shazier..... I just think it had to be figured in. -

Shazier has had great performances in OSU's biggest games this year, I am not sure what you are talking about.Crimson streak;1324348 wrote:Lol you take your guy that does good against shit opponents and ill take manti who had his biggest games against the best teams ND faced all year. -
End of LineDem tough offenses ND have played this year....
Clay Travis ‏@ClayTravisBGID
Notre Dame offensive opponent ranks out of 120: 12, 58, 65, 67, 70, 75, 85, 94, 98 & 117. AWFUL offenses. Defense = overrated. -

Inside LB is your main playmaker. The fact that Shazier is putting up better numbers playing outside is a testament to him being the overall better player.karen lotz;1324296 wrote:Shazier is an outside linebacker, Te'o is an inside linebacker. Compare stats all you want, but when you say he isn't the best at his position and compare him to a different position, I LOL. -

That 85th ranked offense just beat Oregon in Eugene. -

Irrelevant. ND has played good defense because they have played terrible offenses.killer_ewok;1324398 wrote:That 85th ranked offense just beat Oregon in Eugene.
Personally cannot wait for the championship game when Alabama runs the train on ND. LOL -

Not necessarily, in the 3-4 your olb's are your main play makers/ pass rushers where in the 4-3 the middle lb is the main guy. Nd runs a 3-4 and sometimes plays with 4 guys down. -

Also, Clay left out Miami(FL) who ranks at 49th in total offense. -

ND average- 74.1
OSU average- 67.7 -
Crimson streakNotre dame's defense is so over rated they shut down the 12th ranked offense. And there offense is so bad they scored more points than Oregon did against Stanford.

Irrelevant would be offensive rankings of opponents. ND is #1 in the BCS right now and the offensive rank of their opponents is irrelevant when it comes to that. -

ND will be irrelevant when they lose the BCS Championship game 56-0. Enjoy your paper ranking though!killer_ewok;1324411 wrote:Irrelevant would be offensive rankings of opponents. ND is #1 in the BCS right now and the offensive rank of their opponents is irrelevant when it comes to that. -

I didn't realize facts constitute hate. Do I need to bring up ND's BCS bowl record? LOLCrimson streak;1324419 wrote:Keep it coming I seriously am loving all the nd hate right now it puts a huge smile on my face -

So getting blown out by an SEC team in the BCS title game makes a program irrelevant? Hmmm...... -

No but losing every BCS bowl game you've ever played in by an average of 24.33 points does. LOLkiller_ewok;1324421 wrote:So getting blown out by an SEC team in the BCS title game makes a program irrelevant? Hmmm...... -

I can't find any stat for how many plays each player did individually... couldn't even find an official "total defensive snaps" or anything like that. So I went to each game and added the rush attempts and pass attempts to find total number of offensive snaps for each opposing team. Obviously this won't be accurate as it doesn't account for how many snaps each player actually took... but I don't have that information so I just did the best I could with what I could find.Crimson streak;1324226 wrote:Like I said I wanna know how many plays each has played and then prorate the stats. Ill put money on it te'o would have better stats
ND so far has had 706 defensive snap (64.2 per game). OSU has 800 (72.8 per game).
Shazier: Tackle every 7.3 snaps; TFL every 55 snaps; Sack every 200; PD every 80 snaps; etc.. for rest
Te'o: Tackle every 7.2 snaps; TFL every 128; Sack every 470; PD every 176; etc for rest.
Tackling rate is about even, but the difference in potential snaps doesn't really even it out for the other categories.
