#1 Notre Dame def. USC, 22-13
-
sjmvsfscs08The biggest game for Notre Dame since November 25, 1989 when #1 10-0 Notre Dame played Miami the last week of the season. You could argue the Boston College game in 1993, but Miami was 1) a hate rival, and 2) the most talented team in the country, both of which USC is.
If Barkley is out, I like Notre Dame by ten. If he's in, it's a coin flip.
Brian Kelly vs. USC:
2010: W 20-16
2011: L 17-31 -
ohiobucks1If Barkley is out then ND by 21
If Barkley is in then USC by 10 -

Lol.
Notre Dame wins big regardless of who is taking snaps for USC. -
vball10set^^^agreed-it shouldn't even be close (17 points minimum)
-
killer_ewokI will be a basket case all week. HUGE game. If Barkley is out....I don't consider it a lock but obviously I question USC's ability to expose the secondary. If Barkley plays, it's gonna be tough. I'll be worried regardless. The time is now. These chances don't come along often....
GO IRISH!!! -
ohiobucks1You guys are probably right. And nothing against ND. I;d like to see them win. I just feel like USC is going to be riled up because this is basically their bowl (they dont care about a 7-4 bowl lol) and Lane Kiffin will be worried about his job.
I just think USC takes it with Barkley in -

Eh fwiw the AD has already said he will be back. -
Mooney44CardsWhy are people acting like Barkley is lighting up defenses?
Dude is a senior and was a Heisman frontrunner and has thrown NINE interceptions the past four games. NINE! In FOUR GAMES!
He's not exactly Peyton Manning behind center. -

Landry Jones has thrown for 3,200 yards this season, lets hear how he would light up Notre Dame too. Oh wait.... -
karen lotzfwiw, Kiffin said Barkley is out for the game.

Yep. Someone on here said Pat Haden said Barkley would be good to go on Saturday. Guess not. I'll take it. -

really? I thought Haden said Kiffin would definitely back next year, didn't think he had commented on Barkley. -
wes_mantoothDoes USC have another blue chipper as his back up? Seems like they just reload at qb

My mistake. Thought Haden's comment was about Barkley not Kiffin. My bad. -

I'd assume Max Wittek will start. He was a top 5 at worst QB coming out of the same HS Barkley attended. I don't think he's played all that much because Kiffin was trying to keep Barkley in the Heisman discussion. -
cats gone wildND will win. Their bad offense will look good vs USC. USC is going to have problems. I had USC winning until Matt B got hurt. I think it changes things in a big way.
-
sherm03I don't believe Kiffin for a second when he says that Barkley is out. ND better prepare as if Barkley will be under center. Because that seems like the type of punk-ass move Kiffin would pull.

Lol at a lsu fan calling anyone's offense bad -
sherm03Someone just made a good point on Twitter. Kiffin has a policy of not talking about injuries. He even walked away from an interview earlier this season when someone asked him about an injury. But he'll say on Sunday that his starting QB is out for the upcoming game?
I smell bullshit.
Barkley is playing in this game. I don't doubt it one bit. -
BigAppleBuckeyeI am even surprising myself here, but I am rooting for Notre Dame in this game -- would love to see a Midwest school go to the NCG and somehow beat an SEC power.
That being said, with the season USC has had, I can see them finally putting it all together in this one (but only if Barkley plays). USC 24-ND 17. -
Classyposter58So who would've guessed that before Week 1 that Notre Dame would be the one ranked #1 and USC would be the unranked ones? Defense gets it done folks, and USC's is terrible
-
Mooney44CardsBarkley is a top 10 draft pick. My guess is he's not going to risk further injury against a terrifying Notre Dame front seven, even if he could conceivably be healthy enough to play next weekend. Barkley literally has nothing left to prove in a season already in the shitter and has pretty much everything to lose by playing.
