You mean MSU was committing all the fouls. Surely you aren't suggesting Michigan was the beneficiary of bad calls.Midstate01;1399444 wrote:Until the last 3 minutes, michigan was getting ALL the calls. Izzo I'm sure worked them after the first 5 minutes of the second half where all the calls were on msu -

Eh not really but they were getting all the calls. It was 6-1 at one point. You cant expect that to continue -

To me that is different than "getting calls". Michigan doesn't foul much because they aren't aggressive on defense. Some of the calls and missed calls down the stretch were bad.Midstate01;1399448 wrote:Eh not really but they were getting all the calls. It was 6-1 at one point. You cant expect that to continue -
Midstate01Lol appling
Great play by burke -
WebFireCrap.
-
wes_mantoothI don't like the timeout....Michigan was out of position
-
WebFireWhew!
-
MulvaTom drew up a good one there.
-
wes_mantoothLol....three guys standing still and then that....way to go izzo.
-
WebFireBig big win for Michigan. They needed that after the bad stretch they've had. They need to get some confidence back.
They didn't play the greatest. No threes, a lot of missed shots, out rebounded heavily. But the difference, and what they've been lacking, determination and hustle. -
wes_mantoothMichigan is a solid big man away from being dominant

Had a layup if they didn't call a timeout. Msu had a 3on2 -
Midstate01Michigan win opens the door for the buckeyes. Coupled with wisky's bad loss
But no way osu beats iu at iu -

Yep. -
Laley23IU is the B1G champion as of right now. Worst they can do is split. Awesome!

reclegend22Big win for Michigan. Another loss and the affect it might had on the team's psyche would have been devastating with Indiana looming. Funny how some luck at the end of a game -- Michigan State calling timeout with an almost wide open scoring opportunity on the break -- can completely change the course of a team. I imagine the big win will rejuvenate the Wolverines and they'll beat Purdue and give Indiana all they want. Finishing the season with two victories over MSU and Indiana could be enough to propel Michigan to a long postseason run. Momentum is key.

I dont remember what exactly you said (as in word for word)...but I think this pretty much is the exact opposite lol.reclegend22;1399473 wrote:Big win for Michigan. I figured UofM could regroup after PSU and still get a top seed and make a run.
EDIT: Just giving you shit for the overreaction over your lost bet -

To be fair, just as you thought Duke would lose to Miami and North Carolina, I thought that Michigan would lose to Michigan State and then Indiana after having all confidence drained. That's why I pointed out how funny a thing luck can be. If Tom Izzo doesn't call a timeout there at the end, the Spartans have a great chance to score and win the game. If that happens, instead of getting a big win over a national title contender and rival, the Wolverines instead are losers of five of eight games. That would be a horrible situation and their season would be on the cusp of shambles at that point. But that isn't the way it turned out.Laley23;1399503 wrote:I dont remember what exactly you said (as in word for word)...but I think this pretty much is the exact opposite lol.

With the win today, everything changes and Michigan has a great chance to completely right a ship that appeared to be off course with a huge win over Indiana this week (and, of course, Purdue). -

This sounds strange, but they could "at worst" tie, or at best, win the Big Ten by a 4 game margin. If my possible outcomes are accurate.Laley23;1399469 wrote:IU is the B1G champion as of right now. Worst they can do is split. Awesome! -

I think only 3. MSU and Wisconsin play so one will get a win.Ghmothwdwhso;1399546 wrote:This sounds strange, but they could "at worst" tie, or at best, win the Big Ten by a 4 game margin. If my possible outcomes are accurate. -
gorocks99Final week of the regular season kicks off with a lot still to play for. Should be a fun week.
My rankings, week 10:
1. Indiana - Clinched at least a share of the title with their win over Iowa.
2. Ohio State - Big test looming for the Buckeyes in Bloomington.
3. Michigan - Can't drop them after winning a tough one at home against MSU, but certainly can drop them after the head scratcher in Happy Valley.
4. Michigan State - Might well be the third or second-best team in the conference, but three straight losses are tough.
5. Wisconsin - Truly a bad loss at home against Purdue on Sunday. Did this team peak too soon?
6. Illinois - Struggled against Nebraska at home but got the W. 6-1 in their last 7 games, but two road matchups left.
7. Minnesota - Did what they were supposed to do, pounding Penn State. Road games will determine if the Gophers are "back"
8. Iowa - Still with a good shot to finish .500 in conference, not so easy a feat for a team that was once 3-7.
9. Purdue - Finally get that signature win in Madison. Too little, too late, but Painter will be happy and it gives them confidence.
10. Nebraska - Still playing hard and smart, but just not enough talent in Lincoln to compete game in and game out.
11. Penn State - Symbolically I bump them out of the basement for this week. Congratulations Patrick Chambers and the Nittany Lions on their historic upset of Michigan.
12. Northwestern - Losers in their last six, their closest games being two 10-point losses to Ohio State.
Conference games of the week:
3/5: Illinois @ Iowa: If Iowa wins, Illinois in a much tougher position to get the 6th seed. If Illinois wins, Iowa will almost certainly finish in 8th or 9th.
3/5: Ohio State @ Indiana: Hoosiers can lock up the championship (not a shared one) with a win on Tuesday at home. Buckeyes can stay alive for the championship (a shared one) with a road win.
3/6: Michigan @ Purdue: Normally I'd pick Michigan all day here, but they've been bad on the road recently. A Boilermaker upset would not come as a surprise.
3/7: Wisconsin @ Michigan State: Wisconsin will look to bounce back from their worst loss of the season, but they'll have to do it in East Lansing.
3/10: Illinois @ Ohio State: Buckeyes will be looking for revenge against the Illini, who lit up the Buckeyes in early conference action.
3/10: Indiana @ Michigan: Wolverines might - might - be playing for a shared championship at home on the final day of the season. -
PrescottOn court head-to- head results indicate that OSU, UM, and MSU are pretty even.I don't think I could put one ahead of the other 2. On paper, OSU is not as talented as the other 2, but the proof is in the head-to-head games.
At this point I would trust MSU's style of play in a one-game elimination tournament more than the other 2.If Keith Appling can get out of his slump Sparty will be dangerous.
Sparty gets a Wisconsin team that just lost at home to Purdue and D.J. Byrd's (6) 3-pointers.Should be an interesting game. -
sleeperLooking forward to the Indiana OSU game and the Indiana Mich game. I think Indiana takes both of them and gets the #1 overall seed.

You're probably right, but I'm hoping Indiana drops both of them and OSU ties for the B1G regular season title. (It would be a 3 or 4 way tie, but still)sleeper;1399643 wrote:Looking forward to the Indiana OSU game and the Indiana Mich game. I think Indiana takes both of them and gets the #1 overall seed. -

I hope OSU wins the tournament. They certainly are capable provided Craft stops shooting the ball outside of the paint.FatHobbit;1399666 wrote:You're probably right, but I'm hoping Indiana drops both of them and OSU ties for the B1G regular season title. (It would be a 3 or 4 way tie, but still)
