WebFireTSUN is going to surprise you, I think.

I had them poised to disappoint, but damn, they look good. I knew Burke would be great. But I thought Robinson would be more like a typical freshman and Hardaway might press more as a Junior. Its only 2 games, so I guess Ill still reserve judgement, but they look really good early.WebFire;1320087 wrote:TSUN is going to surprise you, I think. -
thavoiceBeen a long time since us IU fans could really be proud! They looked good against Bryant, as which they should as they were a two win eam last year.
Not giving IU the title in the big ten though. I guess I am still a little gun shy in predicting greatness for this IU team. For me to get on board and get that feeling I had back in day about the chance of the hoosiers I will need to see them play great on the road. Two years ago they were atrocious, and last year of course they got better but had something to be desired. IF they show that they can be great on the road then us IU fans may have something special. -

It is early for sure. But after just a few games...WOW. The freshman are better than expected, and expectations were high. GRIII is lights out good. And the returning players have all upped their game. Hardaway is legit now, and Morgan looks great. Adding Horford back in is huge.Laley23;1320118 wrote:I had them poised to disappoint, but damn, they look good. I knew Burke would be great. The thing that will make the difference for this team is depth. This team has serious depth.
I don't hesitate to say this is the most talent in AA since the Fab 5. -

Maybe, but I'm going to reserve judgement until they not only play somebody, but also until they get into the meat of the B1G schedule. IU, OSU and MSU have players that have proven themselves late in the season, and quite frankly, tsun hasn't yet. I'm not saying they won't, 'cause they sure have the talent, but I'm going to take a "wait and see" approach with them.WebFire;1320087 wrote:TSUN is going to surprise you, I think. -

Um, why do you put IU into the group that has proven themselves?vball10set;1320224 wrote:Maybe, but I'm going to reserve judgement until they not only play somebody, but also until they get into the meat of the B1G schedule. I thought they improved as the season progressed, whereas tsun didn't. JMO.WebFire;1320270 wrote:Um, why do you put IU into the group that has proven themselves? -
WebFireI guess if winning your first 13, and then losing the next 6 out of 11, and finishing 11-7 in league play, is improvement, then you are on to something.
Michigan isn't all freshman. They return 3 starters from last year, plus get a player back from injury. The freshmen have just bolstered the talent and depth levels. -
gorocks99Wisconsin getting drilled at Florida right now, down 43-31 at half

Damn, Webbie, don't get so defensive--I just listed the order that I think they'll finish, that's all. Let's revisit this at the end of the season and compare notes, okay?WebFire;1320336 wrote:I guess if winning your first 13, and then losing the next 6 out of 11, and finishing 11-7 in league play, is improvement, then you are on to something.

They'll get drilled a lot. Tough to lose key players for the year and still compete -
WebFire
Haha, not defensive. Just thought it odd you put IU in that category. They really haven't proven much at all. I'm down with comparing notes later.vball10set;1320449 wrote:Damn, Webbie, don't get so defensive--I just listed the order that I think they'll finish, that's all. 0311sdpBuckeyes don't look like a # 4 in the country team 3 games into the season. If you have nothing better than Ravenel in the middle you're hurting and they don't, Amir Williams has not developed, Smith Jr. is still inconsistant on the offensive end, Sam Thompson can't shoot, but Craft and Thomas are improved and playing very well. Off the bench, only 3 deep, Scott looks better than last year, Ross looks a step slow but I still have high hopes for him and the afore mentioned Williams looks no better than last year, can't make free throws or rebound, will block a few shots that's about it. I think 4 losses might get a piece of the B1G this year and I have Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State as the favorites. There are a lot of ifs on this years (Buckeyes) team, if Ross and Thompson can give the Bucks a third or fourth scorer (providing Smith can be the #3) Ravenel and Williams need to at least play defense and rebound in the post (I don't expect much offense) and Thomas and Craft must continue to play allseason like they have started out. Not a lot of room for error on this team but Matta will have them playing great defense so that will keep them in every game. I think that a 22-24 win season before NCAAs in not out of the question.

Ironman92I'm not familiar with Illinois players so they may suck....but I'm a huge fan of their coaching staff....them being higher than everyone is predicting won't surprise me.

They looked very good in Maui. -

To be fair, they played USC and Chaminade in the first 2 rounds of the weakest field in the history of that tourney lol.wildcats20;1327418 wrote:They looked very good in Maui. -

I think OSU will be very good this year but using this score as proof made me lol.vball10set;1327359 wrote:OSU 53 UMKC 18 at the half....^^^, smh -

I didn't take it posting proof, just a statement of the score...so hard to tell how good they may be based on their competition to date.Rotinaj;1327529 wrote:I think OSU will be very good this year but using this score as proof made me lol. -

slingshot4everFar and away the best college basketball conference this year. It's not even close.

Laley23Illinois escapes at home by 1 over Gardner Webb. Both teams "executed" down the stretch. I think 5 or 6 straight possesions resulted in made buckets. Granted, GW banked in a 3 on one of them.
