Conference Tournament Discussion Thread

South Florida might blow a 16-point lead AND lose a game of "first team to 45" wins.

    Tough to do...zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

No way Nova gets to 45. Zzzzzz.

Agreed with those who want to see Lillard in the Dance. Watching this kid play I can't help but think of Harold "The Show" Arcenaux, who dropped a sensational 36 on North Carolina as tiny 14-seeded Weber State danced its way on to the second round in the 1999 NCAA Tournament.

Unfortunately, it appears as if Duke's sister school is about to go home. Montana has just answered too many times with long threes.

After tonight's loss I don't see them in either.

I know this game has been completely worthless (wasn't "worthless" banned on the Huddle?), but Jay Bilas has just been brutal in his commentary tonight. He basically called the Nova player who committed a charge a few plays ago everything but mentally-retarded.

I can't remember a broadcaster being so abrasive during the course of an entire game. He's funny, though. And can't say I blame him.

That's why he's one of my favorite announcers--I can't stand the talking heads who can't, or won't, be candid during the course of a game.

It's actually kind of impessive that UCONN's coaches somehow let them lose 12 games this year.

Yeah. They're shooting 35 percent and Napier's 3-12. And they're up six on Syracuse with 12 to play.

EDIT: And 3-7 from the line. If they're good enough to lead the #2 team in the country under those circumstances, how the fuck do they have 12 losses?

Jay Bilas is my favorite person in sports. He's a lawyer, witty, personable, extremely knowledgable, and speaks his mind. Not to mention his funny twitter account.

Like I said with uconn it's all about effort. There's no doubt there one of the most talented teams in the country but they lack leadership and effort

1-2 without Boatright and then 7-7 (all in BE play) without Calhoun and like Crimson said, a mix no leadership and effort will do that.

8-9 when they are not with their head coach or 3rd leading scorer.

Point taken but the flipside is Syracuse's two Seniors, Jardine and Joseph (arguably their best player), were atrocious from the field all game and yet they still had enough guys who stepped up and won them the game. Waiters and Southerland aren't even starters and they were huge for the Orange today.

    DOUBLE OT!
  • gorocks99
Cincy and G'town off to double OT in MSG
  • Heretic
And knotted up with one minute in the second. Could this be this year's 6OT thriller?
  • Crimson streak
    Triple ot?
  • NilesPacMan
Not enough urgency in Georgetown's execution. Took too long to get up the court and settled for a meh shot.
  • gorocks99
Top seed Washington in a fight out in the Pac 12 tourney. Up 1 with ~40 seconds to go. They lose and that could be a 3-bid league instead of the 2 bids a lot of people expect.
  • gorocks99
Wow, Tony Wroten choke job. Misses two FTs, Oregon State up 1 and headed to the line.

And then of course they miss both FTs. Pac12 ... it's faaaantastic
  • gorocks99
And down goes Washington. That might happen when you go 12/27 from the line. Someone else will get the autobid out west.
  • chicago510
Is Washington even in? I know zero about the Pac12 that conference is terrible.
  • SportsAndLady
    Washington is done
