Hottest team in America? Nope, there's plenty hotter. ND just doesn't suck anymore, so they look pretty good.

The hottest team in America doesn't need OT to beat Villanova.

    8. Other. Teams. In. America. Have. A. Current. Winning. Streak. Longer. Than. Notre Dame.

ND. Is. Tied. With. 2. Other. Teams.

    I enjoyed it

And only Kentucky has a longer one of the BCS teams. Kentucky's last 12 games include 3 wins over top 50 RPI teams. This will be ND's 6th over a top 50 team in their 9 game win streak... In fact, West Virginia is the only team in the group outside the top 30 RPI...

I dont know how anyone could say someone is hotter than Kentucky. UK hasnt lost since IU beat them in early December. They also have had about zero close games since then.

I see your point. As far as close games go though, Kentucky was down 7 with 6 minutes left on the road last night. Not arguing with your other points

Just for reference as far as Notre Dame's last 4.5 weeks though:

    30 Jan. 25 @ Seton Hall W 55-42
    23 Jan. 29 @ Connecticut W 50-48
    8 Feb. 4 Marquette W 76-59
    42 Feb. 8 @ West Virginia W 55-51
    188 Feb. 11 DePaul W 84-76
    153 Feb. 15 Rutgers W 71-53
    109 Feb. 18 @ Villanova W 74-70
    UPCOMING GAMES TIME
    42 Feb. 22 West Virginia W >20

Villanova, Rutgers, Depaul, WVU (x2), Marquette, SH, UCONN, Syracuse

Not exactly murderers row, and definitely not just WVU outside the RPI top 30.

    Rutgers (157), Depaul (191), Villanova (111)

I meant in the group of six wins within in the top 50...

They played well tonight. If they shoot like they did they can compete with anyone, which is the story every year. They are a little more solid defensively this year which can keep them in games until the offense gets going. Cooley didn't have a huge game and Connaughton I don't think scored and they still won by 20.

lol--reps....I like the way ND is playing, but the lack of conference strength may hurt them beyond the SS. Brey has to be Big East COTY.

How will conference strength hurt them in the sweet 16 exactly?

    Gotta get there first

Thanks. I'd actually be surprised if they did make it considering their recent tourney history. Vball suggested it so I was asking for his reasoning. Their odds do increase of moving on if Northern Iowa isn't in their region.

You could sign me up right now for a sweet 16 loss. I'm a realist, but I'm also really enjoying the current run :)

Guessing he means they wont be battle tested. But for the seed they are going to get, Id assume that will take place in the RD of 32 barring upsets or playing a mid-major who gets a high seed.

Their odds do increase of winning the national championship if they get Portland State, UNLV, Villanova, Davidson, North Carolina, and Memphis though. So you always got that (pipe dream) going for ya.

ND definitely deserves some credit for this run they're on.

Yes, this is what I was referring to. I think they're good enough to get to the SS (depending, obviously, on where they're seeded and in what region), but I'm just not sold on the overall strength of the Big East in preparing ND to go beyond that. I know that this doesn't answer your question 'exactly', but it's all I got.

Rough sledding at the Garden. Streak might be over...

4 for 30 behind the arc...

Terrible performance. Showed no effort today
