And it's officially time to start taking Notre Dame serious
-
Crimson streakWith out a doubt. This is one of his least talented teams he has had and what he's doing is pretty remarkable. Losing his top 4 scorers from last year and has them in the top 3 in the big east
Edit- I forgot about Georgetown. I would give it a toss up between brey and jtiii -
athlete377 in a row with other wins against Pitt, Louisville, and South Florida before that streak to start 10-3 in the BE. A double bye (via top 4 BE finish) is possibly locked up I think, but I don't want to go over all of the who plays who the rest of the way out scenarios to figure it out

athlete37Game at Villanova tomorrow. Despite the fact that the cats are 11-14, I'm still nervous about going there. Little to gain from this game, as Nova will probably fall just outside of the top 100 RPI if we beat them. Need to snag a win before the the showdown/rematch against WVU next week though

I have an idea why.SportsAndLady;1081556 wrote:Literally have no idea why I said A&M...for some reason I forgot they blow ass this year. And I meant OOC who have they beat...you know I hate the SEC so I don't consider any of those conference victories actually impressive. Outside of maybe Vandy.
And yes Kentucky is impressive..we know this. They are the 1 very good team in the conference. Florida and Vandy are decent. Mississippi State is alright. Alabama is overrated every year, I mean they just lost to 1-8 in the SEC South Carolina. And Dayton. They literally have zero good wins.
Outside of UK, pretty much all SEC teams have shitty resume's. And none will do anything in the tourney. -
Crimson streakUgly start so far for the Irish
-
Crimson streakNova will not miss holy shit they just throw it up there and it goes in
-
Crimson streakGrant and Martin fucking suck.
-
Crimson streakGrant 1-11 Martin 1-10 awesome job guys
-
Crimson streakNice rebounding martin ot we go
-
Crimson streakConaughton has been huge tonight looks like another Irish win. After being down 20 in the first half I'll take it.
-
karen lotzThey hit some damn clutch shots when they need them. Unreal.
Good to hear the let's go Irish chant in the last few minutes. -
athlete3711-3 in BE, 8 straight. Officially locked up a first round bye in the BE tournament and soon to be a second round. Home game against WVU on deck before a layup at a depleted St. John's squad. Hopefully a ranking hovering around the mid to late teens this Monday, then probably a matchup of top 12-15 teams the following Monday at Georgetown IFFF we take care of business vs. the Mountaineers.
-
Crimson streakIrish up to 20 and 18 in the polls. If they can take care of business they should be around 12-13 going into the game vs Georgetown. At the beginning of the year I thought this team would struggle to make the nit. Pretty crazy
-
athlete37This WVU game could be all we want and more, although we should be favored

I'm pretty confident bc it's at home. And wv has been struggling lately -
slingshot4everI'm pretty confident without seeing a bracket that ND will not make it out of the first weekend of the NCAA tourney.

Nice insight. Like honestly what's the point in trolling threads? Really it's just sad -
slingshot4everHow is my prediction of their performance in the upcoming tourney trolling? The Big East is weak this year outside of Syracuse. They havent really been tested all that much. If you are going to be close minded and can't take someone saying your team won't make the sweet 16 then you should probably not be in a forum where people give their opinions.
And before you try to say that you aren't close minded, calling someones prediction that doesn't match yours trolling is for all intent and purposes the definition of being close minded. Stop being so fucking fragile. -

Marquette and Georgetown are not weak teams. ND looks pretty good too though I can understand the skepticism in regards to how much success they will have in the NCAA's due to (recent) past NCAA tourney performances.
The Big East isn't nearly as strong as it usually is but that doesn't mean that Syracuse is the only legit team in the conference. -
Laley23Well, at the moment, I doubt ND would be a top 4 seed. So it would be an upset if they made the S16.

Yeah, Joey Brackets has them as a 6 seed in his latest projections. -
athlete37Well, considering Notre Dame is Marquette's only loss in their last 11 games and Cuse's only loss in the last 25+ games...
-
killer_ewokND is having a very good season and even better than that when you consider what they were expected to be by everybody. Those wins are impressive and against athletic teams - which is usually what does the Irish in during the NCAA's...athletic teams. I thought Brey's gameplan (slow it down) against Syracuse was great and the team obviously executed it. Again, I think the "doubt" is there because of the recent lack of NCAA tourney success. The last time ND made it to the Sweet 16 was 2003.
Whether it's fair to judge this team that way or not is something I don't wish to debate, but I think that's why the skeptics are saying what they are. There's only one way to quiet it and that's making some noise in the tourney. -

Care to give an explanation on why they won't make it past the 2nd round. I mean I it really depends on the match up. I could see this team making it to the elite 8 or lose in the first round. I called it trolling because you came in here basically saying bd won't win and gave no explanation as to why you think that? -
athlete37
I'm good with Killer's explanation. The distinction I would draw is that this team is the most defense heavy in the Brey era in that it can win when it's not shooting well, so maybe we'll see a different result St. Pat's weekend. Either way, I've been pleased with this season and anything they do in the NCAA's is a cherry on the top for me.Crimson streak;1091961 wrote:Care to give an explanation on why they won't make it past the 2nd round.
