Problem with the B1G? What other conference is any different than that? And I wouldn't count out MSU. This team looks A LOT like an Izzo team that has made previous Final Four appearances.

The Big East, Big 12, and SEC look like they have a team that can dominate... the B1G does not (atleast in my opinion).

Illinois AD saying that he does not give Bruce Weber a "vote of confidence."

In the article, Weber, coach of the 5-6 in the Big Ten Fighting Illini, responded by emphatically affirming that nobody wants to succeed more than he does and that he is "here to win championships."

That may be, Bruce, but you're going to have to trade Brandon Paul to the New Jersey Nets for Deron Williams in order to do it.

My grandma and grandpa got on some educational alumni assosiation trip. My sister and I (no brother, for the record) got to tag along. Other than being by far the youngest, it was awesome. Oh and the food sucks.

Our Cuban guide was hot as hell and really nice. She was our age, so along with the tour director who was also young, we got a few nights of Cuban life past 10pm lol

Cuba awesome? you sure don't hear that every day

Not many ppl have been there either. It certainly wasn't luxurious, but that was known beforehand, so it didn't affect anything. It's a really cool place and the people are awesome. Just sucks the governments don't get along. We did get a chance to speak with the US "Ambassador", he's a douche. We are a nation in trouble if people like him represent us in all the other countries of the world.

That said, I was ready to come home. They do have some nicer resorts on the south side of Cuba, but as Americans we can't do anything touristy... So no beaches lol. I would not go back, unless it was less informative (I learned they're 70 year history in a week) and more vacation'y.

I guess you appreciate this country of ours a little bit more when you venture outside of it--welcome back

Every week, Yahoo Sports does columns for each of the major conferences. The Big 10 comes out Wednesday and had an interesting tidbit I didn't know. Kudos to Bo for this.
Wisconsin’s win at Minnesota last Thursday was the Badgers’ 19th this season. They have won at least 19 games in each of coach Bo Ryan’s 11 seasons. Before his arrival, Wisconsin had won 19 games just four times in school history.

Wisconsin is a good program, and they have some NCAA Tourney results...but god damnit I can't stand to watch them. One is obvious--they're boring as hell. But I also can't stand watching Bo on the bench, it makes me want to jam my face into a wall. Stop trying to get EVERY call Bo, they're not fouling you every time.

Wisconsin is the most boring team in basketball this year. Most boring Ive seen since probably Washington State with Tony Bennett. I guess there is a connection lol.

I agree with above. But personally, I appreciate a lot of basketball. Bo Ryan, IMO, is one of the best coaches in the country. He does as much with as little as anyone. Typically has one very good player, and the rest are role players. His teams play great half court basketball and execute as well as anyone in the half court offensively. But yes, he is a whiney bitch (like Crean) on the sideline.

Rick Bozich predicts the top 16 in the tourney, hoping to get them right with the mock selection this week.
    http://blogs.courier-journal.com/rickbozich/2012/02/15/planting-the-top-16-ncaa-tournament-seeds-with-u-of-l-and-iu-as-fours/

Would be a great draw for OSU as a #2 seed.

Boston would be a rough region, imo:
    1. Syracuse
    2. North Carolina
    3. Baylor
    4. Indiana

Not likely, but would be awesome if Zeller/Zeller matched-up.

Watching two brothers would be very cool to see. Although probably not so much for the family.

Probably right. Though it guarantees 1 is in the Final Four (at least in this projection).

He might be the only coach in the country who beats Roy Williams in the "mouth puckered like he just took a huge bite of an especially sour lemon" category. Which has to count for something.

You aren't giving Jim Boeheim the respect he deserves.

Purdue with a big road win over Illinois. Wins over Iona, Temple, Miami, Illinois x 2, and Northwestern x 2. If they take care of business at home against Penn State and Nebraska they're guaranteed at least 9-9 in B1G play. Should be good enough to secure a tourney birth.

    Illinois on the other hand...

Tom Crean and Indiana reach 20 wins with the win over Northwestern tonight. Currently sit at 20-6

Already an EIGHT game increase from last season. Most of any school in a Power Six Conference (I think next is 5 or 6). If it wasnt for Haith and Mizzou, I think Crean would be the run-a-way favorite for NCOY. Still will be in the running.

    They have:
    -@ Iowa
    -NCC (only gimme)
    -@ Minny
    -MSU
    -Purdue

To end the year, plus B1G Tourney. I think 25 wins is in reach (before NCAAs), but it will take at least 1, probably 2 tourney wins to get there. If they get to 25 heck even 23 or 24 wins a #3 seed is well within reach.

I, along with most IU fans, were hoping to be playing in the Play-In game(s), but realistically saw about a .500 record and the NIT. This has been such a fun year, when looking back at those predictions. Incredible really.

Agreed. I was hoping for about a .500 record this year hoping that a tourney would take them. Heck, I would have accepted even the ones below the NIT and I HATE those tourneys. I didnt think much of the fast start until they beat UK. That opened my eyes. They did what they were supposed to do to the creampuffs early on and then got some big wins.

They are still on pace for the 25-10 record I projected a month ago.
    1-1 in the Big10.
    1-1 in the NCAA.

NCC, either @Iowa or @ Minn, and probably Purdue. I think tho they can give MSU a run for it at home.

Didnt get to see it last night...gotta love those 630 starts, but I see Zeller and the bench put like 45 of the 71.

I dont hold any grande illusions for the NCAA tourney. I am not for moral victories but I am realistic....1-1 or at absoulute best 2-1 in the ncaa is what I would expect...depending on a matchup.

    Good point. Very good point.

Although, with him, he's more of a combination of that and bored, yet angry, indifference.
