Bucks up by 20 at half, with Sully having a tough go of it offensively (PSU's 2-3 zone is smothering him)..Craft, Buford and Thomas playing well..however, I cringe when Sibert's in the game, and nothing he did in the first half changed that....GO BUCKS!!!

OSU defense looks really good tonight. Which can also be loosely translated as "We're playing Penn State tonight".
  • Midstate01
Man another huge oop to Thompson. Then almost got to see him alone on a fast break. I was up off the couch waiting to scream. Thomas turned it over
  • Midstate01
Sully out with 10+ minutes left. Leaves with 20/11

Ohio State has been just curbstomping teams at home. Now on the road however...
  • Midstate01
Pretty sure frazier, or however he spells it, didnt score a single point while being guarded by craft. All against Scott. I'll go back and watch later tonight

next up---Trey Burke, meet Mr. Craft....GO BUCKS!!!
  • Terry_Tate
Gus Johnson on the call in East Lansing tonight for Minnesota vs. Michigan State. It will obviously be a barnburner.

Same. I continue to be underwhelmed by Shannon Scott.

LaQ doesnt seem to be making any progress in the time we see him. Looking more and more like he wont contribute till next year

Did the Buckeyes even offer Burke?
  • SportsAndLady
Yeah what's the story on Trey Burke and OSU? Dudes a fuckin stud, did he just grow up a Michigan fan in Ohio or something?

I know he committed to Penn St then de-comitted and committed to Michigan.

He was never offered by OSU.

"Committed to Michigan on 8/24/2010 over offers from Cincinnati, Miami, Providence, Iowa, Penn State, Nebraska and Oklahoma State."

    From UMHoops.com.

That is one of the few mistakes by Matta since arriving in Columbus. He was Mr. Basketball in Ohio and great at Northland. Not only that, but he was teammates with Sully.

meh...I like Scott, and Burke is right where he should be. We'll see how he holds up against Craft on Sunday.

    Wow lol

Matta really fucked that one up. OSU w/ Burke right now would be NASTY.

If Burke were a Buckeye, he'd be doing just what Scott is now, and that's playing behind Craft. Tsun was the perfect place for him, especially with Darius Morris leaving, as he could come in and play right away.

As a true frosh he might sit behind Craft. But past that, no fucking way.

even so I think they would be sharing a lot of time this year

Probably, which is more to my point. I would give Craft the edge just because he has a year under his belt. Craft plays better defense, but Burke is the better athlete, IMO.

Should be a good match up.
  • Prescott
Burke is in the perfect place for him. He is 2nd on the team in shots taken at 251 (9 behind Hardaway) .That does not happen at OSU.

Craft has taken 122 shots this year(4th on the team). Craft job is to disrupt the opponent's offense and he does that.

Craft is probably not the shooter that Burke is although the numbers don't support that premise. Burke is shooting 44% from the field and 33% behind the arc. Craft is shooting 48% from the field and 32% behind the arc(last year he shot 37.7% behind the arc).

Both players do what their team needs and are in perfect situations for them. Would Burke help OSU, sure. But, not as much as he helps UM. His time and his shots would be limited.

As for Scott he was an early sign and a good one. Time will tell if he works out. Hell, he might not even stay with 2 sophomores playing the in the back court.
