    Typical Bruce Weber.

I wouldnt be so upset if the reffing was inconsistent game to game, because you obviously get different crews, games are played differently, etc. But half to half is inexcusable. Rarely is a game going to change its course THAT much...certainly not as often as we have seen this season.
Agree. OSU second half last nite, and the IU game today were just brutal. No consistancy. Thats what any coach will tell you, they just want them to be consistant.
What is the issue? I think age is one. Some of these guys have been around forever. They need to retire and let some new blood in the game. The demand from day to day with the traveling is too much for some of these guys. If you have ever read what they have to do travel wise, its ridiculous.

Yeah, a lot are doing 6 games a week. Most at least 4 or 5. Hightower I know once did this in a week.

    Monday - Champaigne
    Tuesday - Lubbock
    Wednesday - Bloomington
    Thursday - State College
    Friday - Off
    Saturday - Iowa City
    Sunday - Columbus.

Exactly lol. Im still surprised anyone wants him as their coach. I guess, Snot is the only guy I know who is an ILL fan who likes him. A couple of my friends defend him as their coach, but want him fired.

As I think you have said before, Laley, Weber should have been gone when, just a year after taking Deron Williams to the NCAA finals, he couldn't close the deal on Jon Scheyer who was playing high school ball in Illinois for Weber's brother. That right there proved that Weber was never going to own Chicago in recruiting. (To be fair to Weber, though, those are Coach K's stomping grounds.)

    Regardless, Weber sucks.

    Bruce Weber is terrible.

Those are everyones stomping grounds lol. But yeah, he cant recruit. He cant keep the recruits he gets. And he cant win with the recruits he gets and keeps (from transferring or whatever).

Lol true. I didn't mean to insinuate that Coach K was the first coach to discover basketball in Chicago, just that Coach K is a native of the city and has obviously had good success recruiting the state.

    Rose went to Memphis
Turner (lesser recruit at time) went to OSU

I'm sure there are other examples. Indiana had a similar leaking recruit problem.

Depaul owns Chicago recruiting yalls crazy
  • reclegend22
Haha if they don't now, they soon will with Oliver Purnell leading the charge. That man took Clemson to the brink of NCAA mediocrity, and then left town.

    Lost Gordon after he committed
    Dar Tucker went to DePaul
    Mac Koshwal to DePaul

Of the top of my head.

As for Indiana, they got raped when Davis was in town, cause he didnt give a fuck about the state, then it continued when the coaching was unstable.

Who was the coach in 06? Davis still or was Sampson in town? Losing Oden and Conley to OSU completely changed the Big10

Davis resigned at the end of the 05-06 season.

That was Paul's best game of his basketball lifetime. It was Illinois best game of the year. Back to average.

Wade to Marquette, Anthony Davis to Kentucky, Quentin Richardson to Depaul, Iman Shumpert to Georgia Tech, Sherron Collins to Kansas.

Billy Gillispie beat him out for DeAndre Liggins...

Wade and Q were well before Weber.

Oh yeah, I thought they were just talking Illinois in general.

The balance doesn't appear to be a case of mediocrity. The league has an .802 non-conference winning percentage, the best in the nation. The Big Ten won the Big Ten/ACC Challenge 8-4, and that was before Indiana shocked No. 1 Kentucky on Dec. 10.
Eight Big Ten teams are ranked in the top 45 in Jeff Sagarin's ratings, and he ranks the league No. 1.

Last week made me lol for one reason. It was the inevitable week where Yahoo (or some sports site) does their annual "is this the year Northwestern finally makes the NCAA tournament?" article...followed by Northwestern dropping two games to get everyone to shake their head "no".

Michigan finally got the elusive road victory.
