I didn't even say anything negative about him. I like the guy. I'm just wondering if all the things OSU fans have said about him for the last few years are/will still be true.

Is this possible, considering all the rules you know he broke while at Florida?

My source is an executive director at OSU.

    Yours?

He'll be held to a higher standard in the B1G. This is actually one of the sticking points is that Ohio State wants to emphasize being a class act, and nurturing the student athletes both on and off the field. In the SEC who cares about the student in student athlete and being a class act gets you laughed at.

Pretty sure everyone and their brother understands the ink isn't dry. However it is a near lock that it will be dry next week and there is a tentative deal. Not sure why there is an argument with sleeper being sleeper.

Hopefully the broken rules and scheming that took place at Florida, invalidating both of his National Championships, have been addressed and resolved by Ohio State before the contract was offered. I have no doubt in my mind Ohio State is committed to integrity and winning despite having the burden of following the rules.

I'm just laughing at him basically.

As for it being a lock. I don't doubt there have been discussions, but I also believe his statement that no job has been offered and that there is no deal is place. I think it is more of a "if we were to offer you the job, what would you want?" and a response of "we can do that". The only thing that makes me cautious is that his dad's funeral is friday. If he really took time off because of the stress getting to him and wanting to spend more time with his family this emotional even could change his mind about getting back into coaching. I would be cautious until after this weekend.

My source is anonymous by request. If I revealed my source, I doubt I get any more "inside" information. The only reason Urban is denying is because the administration wants to keep it under wraps until the season is over. They don't want to provide another distraction, but its a lock and he will be our next coach, for better or worse.

Luke Fickell will be retained as assistant HC. Gene Smith will likely be reassigned as SID.

LJ;984798 wrote:Hence why he wouldnt have enough time to prepare for the game. Between viewings and the funeral and thanksgiving tomorrow.
You really think it's going to be easier for him to prepare to comment on multiple games instead of just one (involving a team he saw live last week) and easier for him to fly to Bristol after the funeral in Cincinnati on Friday, rather than making the short drive up to Columbus? Give me a break.

Columbus Dispatch now reporting that Meyer will be the next coach. If they are reporting it then it's as good as done.
