se-alumIt's being reported that Fickell will retain his $775,000 salary.

that_guyAs an Ohio State and Reds fan, the hype around the Urban Meyer arrival reminds me of the excitement of Ken Griffey Jr coming to Cincy in 2000. I think this should turn out much better than that did, but expectations are already through the roof....

Where does that compare to assistant coaches at top programs? Average? Above average? Below?se-alum;991947 wrote:It's being reported that Fickell will retain his $775,000 salary. -
rightfieldAlso a Reds and Buckeye fan and I agree that the "electricity" in the air is similar. At least with Urban we don't have to worry about his hamstring popping every other week.

Yeah, I heard Michigan was considering cancelling their season next year. Other B1G teams may follow suit.vball10set;991876 wrote:I think we just took a little wind out of tsun's sails...GO BUCKS!!! -
jordo212000Would love to see Stoops take over as defensive coordinator. I'm really interested to see how the recruiting and assistant coach search shakes out.
This is the most excited I have been in a while.
He does love him some Braxton Miller though haha -

Just based on a quick search, it seems to be toward the top of assistant salaries. Malzahn and Monte Kiffin are up in the 1.2 million dollar range, but didn't find others making more than the $775,000. Like I said though, just quick research.SportsAndLady;991979 wrote:Where does that compare to assistant coaches at top programs? Average? Above average? Below? -

I can't believe Malzahn makes that much. Bright guy but he gets a little too much credit. He had a ton of success at Arkansas when his backfield consisted of McFadden, Felix Jones, and Peyton Hillis. At Auburn he basically let Cam Newton do his thing.se-alum;992045 wrote: Malzahn and Monte Kiffin are up in the 1.2 million dollar range
Obviously Malzahn is a good coach, but I tend to think most of us on Ohio Chatter could win a lot of games if we had Cam Newton on our side. -
WriterbuckeyeFickell's salary has to be top 5 for assistants. OSU is going to really be opening the purse strings for the staff Meyer will assemble.
