a name you might not know---but you will...

MARK PANTONI----formerly Director of Football Administation at Florida will be joining Meyer starting Wednesday.

Mark will be Director of Football Operations at OSU and will coordinate all recruiting efforts from OSU's standpoint.

He will organize a Friday Night Lights type of program at Ohio State

He will be the main administrative interface between OSU and high school coaches.

He will organize, coordinate and administer all the camps for Ohio State.

When it comes to recruiting----there is NO ONE that Urban leans on harder than Pantoni----and he is now going to be a Buckeye.

    Big get.

Ohio State has never had a problem going into Florida and getting guys...but this direct pipeline should make it even easier. In theory, we should be getting the best of the best from two of the football richest states (Ohio and Florida) every season. Very excited.

While I agree with the health issues farce, Pat Forde of all people (just moved from ESPN to Yahoo!) should know better than most that $ and a dream job opportunity talk. Somewhat hypocritical of him to call out a guy for taking his dream job.

How do you guys feel about Stoops? Good defensive reputation, good Western ties, Ohio guy, just couldn't cut it as a head coach.

I seriously doubt he pulls any offers to committed players. Epitropoulous(sp?) could be moved, which would open a WR spot.

He will be moved. To Punter.

I'm just saying if he can land a better wr and drop a 2* or 3* he probably would

He won't do that. You burn bridges that way. There is no one bad enough to drop anyway. The difference between a 5* and a 4* is greater than the difference between a 4*and 2*. Rankings are not everything.

if Urban likes him, that's good enough for me

Anything your source tells you is false and just giving you lines so he doesn't lose his job due to a legal technicality. My source is always right, and they say its a done deal, no question about it.
Guess elevenwarriors and multiple newspapers are feeding the masses lines to not lose their jobs.

Cut it out with this "source" bullshit. I have no "source". My only "source" is someone who has a very good understanding of the state laws, which is the only thing I told you my "source" told me. My "source" also happens to be a family member.

Fickell, Meyer, Griffin, Schottenstein. Wonder when this was taken? Interesting.
People on other forums are saying the picture is from this morning.

Love that Gene Smith isn't in the pic.

    He is Earle Bruce’s grandson.

nobody has a reaction about the new WR coach being Earle Bruce's grandson?

Yea, I'm not sure you fully understand the depth of recruiting. High school coaches are your best friends, and if you go dropping their players, they're going to be hesitant to steer guys in your direction. The best recruiters have strong relationships w/ high school coaches in their home recruiting grounds.

He did it a BG and at Utah. Don't know about Florida.

I like it, but we need some color to our coaching staff. So far Stan Drayton is it! WR coach could be a place for that (I wish it was Darrell Hazell). I am not sure that one is 100% yet. I would be happy if it was true though.

Jeff rapp tweeted that Bo Pelini and a minority candidate were also interviewed. (no name on the minority candidate). I would have liked Dantonio to get a phone call. Also said Schottenstien, Gene Smith (FML) and Alex Shumate were on the search committee.

I doubt he does drop any of them just saying I wouldnt be all that surprised if he did...but we need to get some Lbs and DBs. The front 7 looks like they should be great next year. Then probably have Roby and Howard and CB. Safeties will be a ? Cant decide between Barnett or Johnson... I like Bryant but Idk who the other would be.

It really depends on what type of defense OSU runs. Barnett will maintain one safety spot. Bryant will probably play STAR if they maintain the same defensive philosophy. Domicone was the replacement at Safety Saturday, so we'll see.

IMHO Clarke >>>Howard. I was not impress with Howard at all. He got picked on bad. Roby is the truth.

No doubt, Clarke was on point when he got the chance. I'm kinda hoping Howard goes to the NFL. Roby is Winfield 2.0. Having a corner that tackles is imperative against the spread offenses of today.

I dont see Howard going to the NFL.
