^^^Pretty much every single one of your posts have been spot on. I wont rep them all, but I will rep this one.

It only takes one game where the opposing offense is clicking and making zero mistakes to force the game in to the hand of the LSU offense, and that's a bet I'm not taking.
    Comparing NFL to NCAA?

Yes. Would have taken five more minutes of my time to look up a team with the same exact scheme as LSU who didn't succeed for an entire year from college ball, but figured since I watch the Bears every week it would be good enough. I now see the error in my ways, however, because opportunistic defensive setups are night and day different from college to the pros.

I hate to say it, but we'll probably get a Bama/LSU rematch in the NCG unless one of those two teams drops a game they shouldn't. (and they might)

    Seriously, quit watching football.

bradmaynard;962367 wrote:LSU has yet to play a team with the level of QB play Stanford, Boise State, and Oklahoma State have. In the relatively small sample size I've had with LSU this year I've seen Trent Richardson get behind the coverage twice only to be overthrown, and this wasn't exclusively something that occurred in the Alabama game. The coverage makes mistakes, and if you run in to a team that can capitalize on those mistakes when they happen, then the LSU offense is going to have to score points. Geno Smith got hot in that game and WVU pulled within 7 at one point. Geno Smith isn't Andrew Luck, Kellen Moore, or even Brandon Weeden. Even if Stanford gets destroyed this weekend I suggest you wait a bit longer before crowning LSU the champions, because all it takes is a hot streak from any three of those guys to find yourselves down two or three scores and relying on that offense to make plays.
bradmaynard;962961 wrote:LSU is ranked 87th in total offense this year. I can't go back far enough to look but in the BCS era has any team ranked anywhere close to that and won the national title? Alabama was 43rd in '09 and barely beat Texas minus the second winningest QB in the history of the sport. They're also ranked 20th in scoring offense which is obviously attributed to the fact that they are ranked second behind OK State in turnover margin. It should be noted that OK State has 14 turnovers lost, however, to LSU's five. OK State will turn the ball over and LSU is good at making people turn the ball over. Well that sounds like a stat in favor of LSU so why am I telling you this? Because if you look down the list you will notice two more teams sitting high in the turnover margin list; Stanford (7) and Boise State (8). Hmmm, LSU scores via mistakes, field position through excellent defense/ not turning the ball over, and forced turnovers. Stanford and Boise State score via offense, offense, and not turning the ball over.
I guess those "hot streaks" will have to be against someone else, lol. Maybe LSU should watch out for TCU and Oregon, right? Oh wait, TCU was unranked and LSU crushed Oregon who crushed your mighty QB Luck. Oh yeah, Moore lost too. That leaves you Weeden. The one who barely, i mean barely beat a 5 loss A&M and Kansas State. I thought Stanford dont turn the ball over either? As I said, Stanford was way overrated, Boise had no shot at the title either way, and defense wins titles.

You also played western Kentucky yesterday and were only up 14-7 at half on western fucking Kentucky. Oregon is a way different team then they were week 1. And Boise just got upset. It happens. So Oklahoma st. struggled with Texas a&m, so what teams have off games and a&m us as bad as people think they are. I really don't think bama and lsu is as good as everyone is making them out to be. They have good defense but there offenses are terrible.

cats gone wild needs to die. simple as that. There is nothing more pathetic than a grown man on a random ohio message board, chest thumping LSU football.

I'm glad Boise St. finally lost so we don't have to hear about how they got hosed out of the title game. BSU will play in a non-BCS bowl, where they should be.

Up to last night Stanford didn't turn the ball over. Perhaps they had their one bad game of the year? Surely you understand every team, regardless of how good they are, is capable of having a bad game? Boise State has no excuse for not fixing their kicking woes. Stanford had no excuse for their uncharacteristic turnovers. And LSU, well LSU had a bye week. Did you become an LSU fan in '03 or '07?
  • dwccrew
Boise St. has kicking troubles because rarely does the game come down to a FG for BSU. They play such a soft schedule that they generally blow teams out. Joining the MWC will make their schedule a bit tougher now. When it does come down to a FG (TCU this season and Nevada last season) BSU is screwed.

Their offenses aren't bad. When the hell are the ratards going to stop saying this?

LSU is ranked just behind Duke and just ahead of Rice in total offense. And yes, I mean that Rice.

Maybe its because Stanford didnt play anyone all year, as i said multiple times?
Perhaps LSU had their "one bad game" vs. Bama. Oh wait, they did. But yet you criticize their offense which has averaged almost 40 points a game all year except the Bama game. I would take a offense that averages upper 30's and a great defense over teams that score 50 or 60 points a game that rely on trying to outscore their opponents instead of defense.

Offense is not responsible for those points. When you have a high ranked scoring offense but a very, very low ranked total offense you give the nod to special teams and defense. Do I need to explain the inner workings of your own favorite team for you?

I agree with that. The one thing even more pathetic is how in basketball he's a Kentucky fan. How the fuck do you root for two teams in the same conference.

You can make all the arguments and twists you want, but LSU is a UNANIMOUS #1, something that hasnt happened in 3 or 4 years. Just because you are of the .0000001% that doesnt think LSU is legit doesnt mean you are right. LSU has beat 2 out of the top 4 teams in the county (on the road). All LSU does is win. It doesnt matter how they score, it matters who gets the W. Btw, who do you even cheer for in cfb? And how are they doing?

It was Texas. And they lost two weeks after the rankings came out. My favorite college football team is actually whoever happens to rank the highest in the SEC at the start of the year then gradually changes depending on results during the regular season. My favorite basketball team is Kentucky except for when its Duke.

Playing at a neutral site is not considered playing on the road. Playing on the road is when you are at the opposing teams home stadium and have a very hostile crowd. That was not the case in the LSU-Oregon game.
