Herron Out For Nebraska, Posey Five Extra Games

What's even more laughable is compare the amounts in OSU's "major" scandal to those in Miami, Auburn, Oregon and other places, and Ohio State looks like a total picker when it comes to cheating.

How the SEC folks are laughing over this.

It just shows how totally fucked up this whole system is, and I honestly hope the BCS breaks from the NCAA and buries that decrepit, crooked, bureaucratically screwed up organization forever.

you mean like oversigning and grey shirting...lol...LSU and Alabama have this down to a science.
Just another example of how the NCAA no longer has the student-athlete at heart.

This is the kind of stuff that the NCAA should be concerned with.

The amount of money that is being spent chasing down the picayune stuff is staggering.

This shows your overall ignorance of unions. The entire state workforce (meaning all agencies) is covered by union contract. Those individuals who are exempt employees (supervisors, mostly) are not union, of course. But everyone else either is union or pays "fair share" so might as well belong since they take money, anyway.

Your wife must be either a supervisor or appointee of some kind (or both) to escape the union.

And by the way, union contract for some employees in the department I worked for were always paid for travel time to and from jobs. So even with the state, it wasn't uncommon for employees to get paid for travel.

Writer, just curious, are you going to address what happened to you in the Urban Meyer thread or just chalk that one up as a complete fail on your part?

I hadn't been back to that topic for a few days and just now saw it. I did my mea culpa if you're that interested in it. I don't avoid my mistakes on here; never have.

    From Nevada at scout:

was going back and forth with Posey this morning--and at the risk of betraying his confidence I thought I would share this little exchange..

Nevada: "tough game to lose, I thought you had those guys'

Posey: "we thought so to---we had our shots, just didn't convert enough of them"

Nevada: "you were so open a few times I thought you would have three td's"

Posey: "my fault for not being available to the team earlier. Miller don't miss those throws if we have more game time together. That is on me. He won't miss those throws in the future. That kid is a baller and tough as nails"

Always been a fan of Posey. Still think the NCAA got it wrong by adding the additional 5 games, but nothing you can do about it.
Hope he does well at the next level.

Posey was in the wrong and broke NCAA rules again. He didn't learn his lesson the first time. Posey was selfish and put himself before the team, twice. He deserved exactly what he got. Maybe his punishment will make the other knuckleheads on the team think twice before they stick their hands out.

With that being said, he's a great player and he should make some noise at the next level. Not sure where he'll drafted, but he'll do fine.

Heard an interview from Posey in the locker room after the game, and I was impressed by his humility and overall attitude. Basically owned his mistakes and just said he stressed to the young guys to take nothing for granted and savor every moment in a Buckeye uniform. I could tell he really regretted what he did and not just because he got caught. He knows he let the team down.

Wish him the best at the next level.

The best you can hope for when these guys put themselves in these types of positions is that they learn from the mistakes and make themselves better people for it and that is what appears to have happened for Posey and Boom as well. The easy thing for Fickell to do would have been to kick them off the team, but I think he clearly showed the type of leader he is and will be, by allowing them to remain a part of the team and help build them into responsible young men, which is the greatest responsibility that these coaches have.
