Big names. A shell of a game when it comes to meaning on the national landscape. Miami might win 7 games this year. OSU by at least 10, but wouldn't be surprised if it's just a boring game.

There was already a thread if anyone cares.

If Miami was better than they are I'd be very worried that this was going to be Bauserman's Boeckman game, where it becomes painfully obvious that you just can't stick with him as the starter and he doesn't belong on the same field out there. But from what Miami looked like against Maryland I'd say he might be able to game-manage his way through this one.

Miami isn't as good offensively as Toledo. I'm going 24-10 OSU.

Like I said in the other one, could we see Jacory Harris and Joe Bauserman start, only to see Stephen Morris and Braxton Miller finish it? I think no doubt Stephen Harris finishes, but it will be interesting if OSU is down in the second half and Bauserman is doing bad if Braxton comes in. Still can't believe he didn't get a drive this week.

Fickell clearly likes Bauserman as his #1. Probably was planning to play Miller until OSU couldn't seem to grab a lead until the end of the 3rd quarter.

He definitely does, but how bad does the offense and Bauserman need to be before he gives Miller a chance? If he didn't trust him passing should have at least brought him in to run the ball a few times as the ground game was not good at all.

    I'm taking Ohio State, 17-13.

Hoping the Bucks oline can move someone this week, OSU by a TD.

Like I mentioned in the other thread, the quotes from the coaching staff seem to lead one to think that Miller has a problem with taking care of the ball, be it fumbles, INT's or just stupid decisions. It was obvious that they didn't play Miller because of some issue with his play. While he seemed exciting against Akron's 2nd team, Bauserman looked like a very solid QB against their first team. Miller may be one of those guys that you just need to play through his mistakes because of the spark he can give you, but I don't know that the coaching staff will take the chance when the game is super tight. You either have to rotate him in from the start, or you have to wait until the game is won or lost.

The Oline was moving people, the RB's just can't find a hole to save their life. At one point Hyde got the ball, there was a gaping hole two steps to his left and he ran right up the Center's back.

As it becomes more and more obvious to OSU opponents that Bauserman can't make plays through the air, defenses will squeeze the running game and the Bucks will struggle to score even more so than they did against Toledo. I don't think that the O-Line has blocked too bad but as was pointed out in a previous post the running backs miss the primary hole a lot of the time and have shown no ability to make a cut that could turn 4-5 yard plays into 10-12 yards or more. The wideouts for their lack of experience have played fairly well but at times I saw that if their route was covered they quit running (like Posey always does) and don't give the QB much to throw to. The defense played decent not great, I would have liked to have seen Shazier playing on defense, his speed would be a huge asset. They need to find a better FG kicker Basil looks pretty bad so far. Still I'm picking Ohio State to show a little more life and beat Miami 28-17.

As an OSU fan I have to pick the Buckeyes in this one, but a loss wouldn't shock me at all.

    OSU 24-21

LOL. Why do you have to pick the Buckeyes, just because you're an OSU fan?!

Special teams really scare me against Miami.

I'll say osu is the better team. But they need hall Howard and brown to win this one. Bauserman or miller are not going to be the reason OSU wins this. They might be the reason the bucks lose however.

    OSU - 27
    UM - 24

OSU by 7 w/Miller seeing some time...however, IMO we can't, and won't, win games against better opponents with JB at QB

I was thinking about going to this game, but Gainesville is closer.

Because I think they are going to win, but as a Buckeyes fan I may be biased. Having as many starters out as we do is going to effect OSU big time; which is why I wouldn't be shocked if they lost. OSU is the better team, but they might not be this weekend considering 1/3 of the team is out.

I'm with this prediction, although I wonder when and how much we will see of Miller. It was tough to watch Bauserman on Saturday. Nothing against, the guy, but he just doesn't have "it"....its part of the game.

If no one is open he's fucked and he has ZERO ability create. I'm with others regarding Bauserman staying in because the game was so tight, but I still don't get him not seeing ONE series. Now you go to Miami that is significantly more talented than our previous two opponents with Miller seeing very live first team snaps.

I have to believe Fickell knows he cannot simply wait for the perfect spot to throw Braxton into the game. He is going to need him to win the game. As other's have mentioned, JB does not have the ability to make something happen when his WRs are not wide open. OSU's lack of a running game certainly isn't helping his cause, either. However, much of that is attributed to the fact that defenses' are going to make JB beat them by stacking the box. I have no doubt Miami will believe their CBs have the talent to stay with OSUs inexperienced (albeit) surprisingly effective WR corp.

On the defensive side, I expect Williams to be back. Really would like to see Howard get Ok'd by the NCAA, although I don't expect it. Sabino and Sweat both looked very good Saturday and I would expect the same. Should be a great game, can't wait!
