Week 3: Ohio State @ Miami

Classyposter58My biggest worry is that how is getting the suspended guys back going to do anything? Herron is an explosive back but so is Hall and Posey is possibly the best reciever in the B1G but guess what folks...we literally can't get the ball to him. I don't see OSU winning more than 7 this year, but hey look on the bright side we may get a bowl game close to home like the Little Caesars Bowl

the tackling on defense was horrible. I am done with ohrian Johnson. The kid is just too afraid to hit anyone. He shies away from contact on virtually every play.Benny The Jet;900986 wrote:Obviously a ton of the talk is going to be about the god awful quaterback play and coaching...but was I the only one that noticed the tackling on defense was really bad? A lot of attempted arm tackles, not wrapping up, whiffs, just overall bad. Granted they were on the field a ton tonight, and it looked better in the middle of the game, but at the beginning and end of the game it was ugly. -
vball10setmy thoughts...
1.) Even though I'm disappointed with last night's result, I don't have that pit in my stomach that I usually do after a loss. I just don't feel that "connection" to this team the way I always seem to have, and it bothers me that I don't.
2.) I hate the 2 QB system...just pick a damn guy and go with it (just as long as it's Miller)
3.) Luke Fickell will not be our coach next year...as has been said repeatedly on this board by various posters, this job is just too big for him at this stage of his career
4.) I originally predicted a 9-3 finish, and the colored glasses may be on, but I'm going to stick with that.

same, but that is probably because I dont have high expectations for this team like years past.vball10set;901294 wrote:my thoughts...

IMO, the worst I ever saw OSU play was at Northwestern in 2004. It was the first time they lost to NW in like 300 years. Terrible.Hb31187;901059 wrote:Thats right, that was the game that TP fumbled on that QB sneak right?
This is still shocking to me, for as long as ive been watching OSU play, this might be the worst I've ever seen them play. -

While that game WAS bad, at least it was competitive (I think it went into OT). I have been an OSU fan since 1993, and here are my top 5 "Worst Games" :dwccrew;901955 wrote:IMO, the worst I ever saw OSU play was at Northwestern in 2004. 1. OSU vs. Florida, 2007 ... still amazed about how poorly they played, despite touting one of our best teams in decades. Like a punch in the gut.
2. OSU at USC, 2008 ... just a grim reminder how much of a gap there was between our programs
3. OSU at Miami, 2011 ... just a complete egg, embarrassed by an average team at best
4. OSU at Penn State, 1994 (would be higher, but that PSU team was so dominant) ... we got absolutely throttled, only time I saw OSU surrender 60+ points
5. OSU at Michigan, 1993 ... we were ranked #5, lost 28-0 -

BigAppleBuckeye, I respect you a lot (and it isn't just because we share a common name).BigAppleBuckeye;902838 wrote:While that game WAS bad, at least it was competitive (I think it went into OT). I have been an OSU fan since 1993, and here are my top 5 "Worst Games" :

How the heck do you not include the 1998 loss to Michigan St. I nearly vomited after that loss. That is without a doubt the best Ohio St. team I've seen, and one of the top college teams I've seen and they pissed it away at home to a lousy MSU team...to make matters worse that was the first year of the BCS system and we had a craptacular Tennessee-FSU game, I'm sure OSU would have beaten both teams by two touchdowns. -

MB, was basing the losses more on how lopsided they were, rather than the magnitude of a close loss. If I expand my criteria, that would be right up at the top, along with the USC loss in 2009, the Penn State loss in 2008, the Fiesta Bowl loss to Texas, etc.Manhattan Buckeye;902845 wrote:BigAppleBuckeye, I respect you a lot (and it isn't just because we share a common name).

Great list. This game reminded me a lot of the 99 game against Miami. We just sucked offensively.BigAppleBuckeye;902838 wrote:While that game WAS bad, at least it was competitive (I think it went into OT). I have been an OSU fan since 1993, and here are my top 5 "Worst Games" :

MulvaThe worst I've seen OSU play was 2008 against USC. Easily. That would be followed by the 2004 Iowa game and the national championship against Florida.

dlazzOSU will NOT lose to Michigan. Michigan will lose a majority of their Big Ten games, including OSU.

2001 vs. UCLA was awful. I think OSU lost something like 13-6, with under 200 yards of total offense.FatHobbit;902865 wrote:Great list. This game reminded me a lot of the 99 game against Miami. We just sucked offensively.
IMO Michigan is up for grabs this year. But I hope you're right, that would make a crappy season sting a little less.dlazz;903438 wrote:OSU will NOT lose to Michigan. Michigan will lose a majority of their Big Ten games, including OSU. -

I'm not going to guarantee anything, but read my signature and you'll know how I feel..and IF (when) we win yet again, you'll need to keep all sharp objects away from the tsun fans-they'll be suicidal!!!dlazz;903438 wrote:OSU will NOT lose to Michigan.
