Obviously. Can't have those turnovers. 2-13, awe who cares.......he didn't turn the ball over.Manhattan Buckeye;900935 wrote:So what's your solution? Keep playing Bauerman, run it every time and hope for a defensive score? -
jordo212000The indecisiveness of Fickell hurt us tonight.
1. He waffled on the QBing situation all season and played roulette during the game. You pick a guy and play him. The old adage "if you have 2 QBs, you don't have 1" applies here.
2. He had no idea how to manage the clock at the end of the game. He should have been calling timeouts much earlier. I mean I knew we were doomed, the guy sitting next to me knew we were doomed, but Fickell has to put his team in the best situation to win. That's calling timeouts and trying to conserve time for another possession.
However with that being said, he wasn't dealt a full deck. It sucks for him because the past 2 weeks have probably sealed his fate. But the QBs are either terrible or net ready, the WRs are non-factors, and the OC has no clue. This will be a good experience for him, but I just feel like it is best for everybody to move their separate ways. -

I'm not saying bauserman is a bcs QB. Because he's not. But right now... I honestly believe he gives us the best chance to win. Miller is too raw.Manhattan Buckeye;900920 wrote:Difficult to turn the ball over when you throw it out of bounds. Bauserman is the worst QB OSU has had since Mocherman. He isn't a BCS conference level QB. There is no confidence in the offense with him under center. -

Midstate01It's the message that it sends that makes me the most mad. These kids have been through a lot the last few months. Then you just give up on them??? That's a scary message to send. This isn't going to be good. I think fick conceded the game and any chance he had of keeping the job with such a minor move.
Teams that are down 20 call timeouts. Any chance you can give your guys to have the ball, you do it! -
jordo212000
I realize you are being facetious, but yeah that's what they should have done. Not saying Bauserman should be the guy, but we still threw it waaay too often. We had success running right at them. Once we started throwing we'd get in 2nd and long, or 3rd and long situations and that's just not happening with our stable of QBs.Manhattan Buckeye;900935 wrote:So what's your solution? Let's face it. This is not a good team -
jhay78When your "best chance to win" completes 2 more passes than I did tonight, you in big trouble.

I'd like to think that this was just a god awful game by bauserman and he will be alright down the line. I think once we get posey, Adams, and Herron back that will be a much needed boost. The way our defense played tonight... They were on the field the entire night... And they played lights out. Plus we were missing n.Williams.Manhattan Buckeye;900935 wrote:So what's your solution? Turnovers will kill us every time. Why not go with the option that limits the Mount of turnovers? -

Or every other game he's ever played in, except for Akron? -

And I mean there is no easier way to put it. Sure we can argue about QB.... but who is going to catch the ball? Who is going to tackle on defense? Who is going to kick longer FGs?jordo212000;900951 wrote:

Way more problems than just QB. -

We were moving the ball with j.hall! -
jhay78Taking the snap and falling down on your face every play will limit the amount of turnovers for sure . . .
-
dat dudeQB should be a two horse race between Guiton and Miller. I don't see any reason to give Bauserman any more snaps. Thanks for sticking it out, being a leader, great changeup btw, etc. Time to move forward. There is no upside with him.
With enough snaps/experience, Miller is the best hope to finish strong. -

I could be wrong, but I have a feeling we won't be seeing much of Bauserman anymore. I think the media heat in Columbus during the upcoming week will make sure of that.Scarlet_Buckeye;900954 wrote:I'd like to think that this was just a god awful game by bauserman and he will be alright down the line.
Fickell will virtually ensure he is not back as head coach if Bauserman plays. Not because the fans and administration will have had enough, but because we'll keep losing. -
jordo212000
This. However it should be noted that he started cramping up and had to miss a large portion of the 3rd quarter. Hyde just didn't have the same success and then we had to throw more due to the clock.Scarlet_Buckeye;900965 wrote:We were moving the ball with j.hall!
We did abandon the run much too soon though -
NilesPacManThat was the most putrid performance by an Ohio State offense I think I have ever seen. It was absolute garbage. It was even worse than the 35-3 drubbing USC gave to us a couple years back because at least Boeckman/Pryor both threw more than the lousy 34 yards tonight and USC was a great team that year, Miami isn't that good...
Bauserman needs to sit and never see the field. This season is going to be a wash regardless of whether he plays or not. Therefore, we go for the building of next year with Miller. Going with Bauserman would just put Miller a year behind in his progression, and we need to be looking towards the future. -
Benny The JetObviously a ton of the talk is going to be about the god awful quaterback play and coaching...but was I the only one that noticed the tackling on defense was really bad? A lot of attempted arm tackles, not wrapping up, whiffs, just overall bad. Granted they were on the field a ton tonight, and it looked better in the middle of the game, but at the beginning and end of the game it was ugly.
-
buckeyes_wooweeMiller really should of been redshirted. He just doesn't seem ready. Bauserman should be holding a clipboard. I don't know about Guiton but I would have to assume he would complete more than 15% of his passes.

Nah, I saw it. OSU's problems go deeper than which bad QB is playing.Benny The Jet;900986 wrote:Obviously a ton of the talk is going to be about the god awful quaterback play and coaching...but was I the only one that noticed the tackling on defense was really bad? That happened alot last week too. Storm Klein has been the #1 culprit. I'm beginning to think he has naked pictures of Jim Heacock. He is slow, isn't a great tackler, and isn't very instinctive. I don't know though, maybe he is the best we have?Benny The Jet;900986 wrote:but was I the only one that noticed the tackling on defense was really bad? Same deal with TP. Bad QBs ahead of them pretty much forced Ohio State's hand though. Guiton and Graham must be really bad? Hard to believe Bauserman is better?buckeyes_woowee;900990 wrote:Miller really should of been redshirted. He just doesn't seem ready. Bauserman should be holding a clipboard. Not with the WR's OSU has. They would have dropped the same damn balls. I mean Christ. The opening fucking play the WR Fields stayed shallow and gave the QB no chance but to throw him out of bounds or lead him. That set the tone to absolute shitty WR play.buckeyes_woowee;900990 wrote:Miller really should of been redshirted. He just doesn't seem ready. Bauserman should be holding a clipboard. yeah WRs are bad and they did drop a lot of passes. But I also remember Bauserman throwing the ball everywhere except where it needed to be.LJ;900999 wrote:Not with the WR's OSU has. He had Stoney wide freaking open in the 2nd quarter and he threw it behind him. The defender gave up. Just put it where it needs to be.
I wonder how much Tress might have stunted Bauserman's growth? It seems like it has been pounded into his head to play conservative and not turn it over. He takes that to the extreme. If somebody isn't open 3 seconds after the snap he throws it out of the end zone.
