Yeah the WRs are weak but Bauserman looks scared to throw the ball.

He had Stoney wide freaking open in the 2nd quarter and he threw it behind him. The defender gave up. Just put it where it needs to be.

I wonder how much Tress might have stunted Bauserman's growth? It seems like it has been pounded into his head to play conservative and not turn it over. He takes that to the extreme. If somebody isn't open 3 seconds after the snap he throws it out of the end zone.

But maybe we could talk about where Bauserman put it right in the WR hands and they just plain dropped it?

2 passes? Ok so he should of been 4 of 13. You're right!

I believe there were about 4.

With WR play like that, who care who is playing QB.... OSU has some much bigger issues! Why is this so hard to understand?!

Just plain playing Miller isn't going to all of a sudden win OSU games.
  • buckeyes_woowee
No Miller isn't the answer now but you hope he is the future. Why not play him? Especially when the productivity of your offense doesn't change. Why waste your time with a guy that has no business being a starting QB in the Big Ten.

I cant remember the last time our WR were this bad

Not aruging any different.... but people are acting like the results will be different... in reality they won't.

    Not sure ever....

Hell Fields gave up on a long ball that was totally catchable. It was almost like "I"m not gonna catch that..... oh shit its within reaaaaaaaa......nevermind"

I had OSU winning 24-20 in this game. I may be a hater of OSU but this truly shocked me. When was the last time OSU was held without a TD? I honestly cannot remember a time they were
  • buckeyes_woowee
I don't think they would be different either. We have talent to win but I don't think we have a coach that is going to put us in position to win games. They don't even look ready to play when the game starts.

Luke Fickell is the worst excuse for a coach I have ever seen. He doesnt know anything about the game. Run his @s$ OUT OF TOWN RIGHT NOW, He is an embarassment to OSU football!!!

Penn State in 2008 I believe. And happened against USC that year as well.

    1. He waffled on the QBing situation all season and played roulette during the game. You pick a guy and play him. The old adage "if you have 2 QBs, you don't have 1" applies here.

    2. He had no idea how to manage the clock at the end of the game. He should have been calling timeouts much earlier. I mean I knew we were doomed, the guy sitting next to me knew we were doomed, but Fickell has to put his team in the best situation to win. That's calling timeouts and trying to conserve time for another possession.

However with that being said, he wasn't dealt a full deck. It sucks for him because the past 2 weeks have probably sealed his fate. But the QBs are either terrible or net ready, the WRs are non-factors, and the OC has no clue. This will be a good experience for him, but I just feel like it is best for everybody to move their separate ways.
At this point I would take Cooper again. Luke Fickell is a joke! Bring on the next guy now, why wait?

Thats right, that was the game that TP fumbled on that QB sneak right?

This is still shocking to me, for as long as ive been watching OSU play, this might be the worst I've ever seen them play.

    lol yeah.... the TP sweep

Lol that was such an unlucky play.

Yeah, he had the first down. He doesn't fumble there and OSU wins the game IMO.

The more I think about this the more I think you have to make Miller the QB and tell him it's ok to make a mistake, he'll be in the next series. The problem is Fickell wants to win this year since he knows it may be his only shot so he wants to win now, as opposed to the long term future for Ohio State. Fans are ok(well, not ok, but a lot more tolerant) with a team struggling if it looks like they'll be good in the future, as opposed to struggling with a senior QB while there is a freshman who potentially has 3 more years as a starter. I can somewhat understand the "he doesn't turn it over" argument, but if it's between the senior QB who can't move the chains against a decent defense or a highly recruited freshman that will be the man for 3 more years, how in the world do you stick with the senior QB? Maybe Bauserman playing full time over Miller the rest of the year means 1 more win this year. Well I'd gladly trade one less win this year for getting Miller 9 or 10 games of experience before his sophomore year. It may mean Alamo Bowl instead of Outback Bowl, but at that point does it really matter?

If Ohio State doesn't get things fixed....they could lose 4-5 games

As of now that's a best case scenario if Adams/Posey/Boom return polished.

I'd kill for an 8-4 season. There is a chance it could be 6-6, or worse.

I feel the same. Nebraska and Wisconsin seem like for sure losses. Then there is Michigan State, Michigan, and Illinois. After Colorado its home against MSU, at Nebraska, at Illinois, home against Wisconsin. 3-5 at that point is definitely possible.

    I have them losing to

    Wisconsin
    Nebraska
    Michigan

    With possible losses to:
    Michigan State
    Illinois

The Great Kirk Herbstreit said before the season started the Buckeyes would be undefeated heading into Lincoln.

The only sure wins I see are Colorado and Indiana.

    1. Jordan Hall didn't get nearly enough carries tonight. The playcalling was horrible.

    2. I didn't read this whole thread, but from the several pages I did read through I had to lol at anyone trying to defend Bauserman. I'm going to say the same thing I said before the season started - this clearly isn't a championship team. The ONLY reason Bauserman should have started was if he was head and shoulders above Braxton in the preseason. He clearly wasn't. They both blow, but there's an obvious difference - Braxton is a true freshman who blows, and will almost undoubtedly improve and be the QB of this team for the next 3 seasons. Bauserman is 37 years old and will finally be leaving the program at the end of the year. He doesn't give the team a significantly better chance to win (if a better chance at all) when he's out there, so there's no reason to play him over the kid. It's just mind-bogglingly retarded. 13 yards on 13 pass attempts? Are you fucking kidding me? I don't give a shit if you don't turn the ball over in 700 games if you average 1 yard per attempt.

    3. This team will be significantly improved offensively with Herron, Posey, and Adams back (and with Miller as the starting QB), and the defense is fine. It's not dominating like it has been for years, but it's still very solid and good enough to beat just about anyone. Even after this performance I still see 8-4 at worst, and possibly 10-2. Yes, we looked like shit tonight. But guess what? Colorado (at least on the road), Indiana, and Purdue ARE shit, and Penn State and Michigan State looked like shit today too. Michigan and Illinois aren't exactly juggernauts this season either.

Things aren't as bleak as some people are already acting like they are.

This is a pretty fair article, and certainly not OSU bashing but rather telling the truth:

    http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/blog/dr_saturday/post/Just-when-you-thought-Ohio-State-8217-s-QB-issu;_ylt=ArS.X6GTbZkIv1OWeA0vGR0cvrYF?urn=ncaaf-wp6491

10-2 is a pipedream, I don't see how OSU can win in Lincoln or stay with Wisconsin with no passing game.
