Yes and Kelly acknowledged that too. Its ultimately on Rees because he is the one who makes the decision to throw the ball. That doesn't change the fact that a WR on that route needs to have his head turned and expect the ball.vball10set;887533 wrote:ahhh, got ya'...also, as I was watching the video for the hundredth time last night, it appeared to me that Tommy Rees was trying to tell BK that it was his (Rees') fault (patting his chest as if to say "it's on me, coach")- did anyone else pick that up? -
karen lotzdat dude knows sports, I was hoping he could tell me when they were down 3 scores.

I agree, but I thought that was pretty heady of Rees to want to take the heat, especially when he saw how mad BK was. I think most college kids would want to stay as far away as they could!!!karen lotz;887556 wrote:Yes and Kelly acknowledged that too. killer_ewokEnigamaxx-Pelini most definitely caught backlash for that and IMO it was ridiculous. I'm with you on the "pussification" stuff.

For sure. That is definitely something that Rees has that Crist might not. After Riddick had his last drop of the game, Rees talked to him on the sideline and told him to pick his head up. He also said in his press conference that he has to show the guys he has their back so that they can completely trust him moving forward. For whatever physical shortcomings Rees has, he makes up for it and then some on the mental side.vball10set;887561 wrote:I agree, but I thought that was pretty heady of Rees to want to take the heat, especially when he saw how mad BK was. Okay, I just caught the "down 3 scores"...didn't really remember how the scoring went as I didn't watch the game. What was the score at the time of the tirade?Tobias Fünke;887551 wrote:Notre Dame was 0 for 1 on field goals, not sure how they could have been down 23-3.
I thought it went..
0-0
0-7
0-10
0-13
0-16
7-16
7-23
13-23
20-23 -
karen lotz16-0 when Rees was intercepted at the 4. It should be argued that Kelly's tirade inspired the team to a 20-7 run and that he didn't lose the team.

Yeah, that was the point I was getting at - over the remainder of the game, ND outplayed SF, so there was obviously no detrimental effect on the team.karen lotz;887591 wrote:16-0 when Rees was intercepted at the 4. But...he yelled and swore! -
TiernanThats what I'm saying...if Rees was the least bit concerned with Kelly's yelling he would have stayed far away. But he figured worst thing The Garden Gnome could do to him was kick him in the lower ankle.

For a Michigan fan, you sure are quite concerned with Notre Dame's coach. -

Aren't message boards for discussion? I couldn't care less how ND's coach acts on the sideline. Doesn't mean I don't have an opinion about it.karen lotz;887717 wrote:Hmmm, I see. -

Exactly..that's EXACTLY what I am saying: I think it's embarrassing, you don't. Never did I ever try to convince you that your opinion was wrong, nor did I ever try and tell you to change your opinion.killer_ewok;887508 wrote:I'm telling you that to me it wasn't embarrassing and you're trying to tell me that it was. The GIF thing is a legit argument, whether you like to keep making fun of it or not.killer_ewok;887690 wrote:GIF's or GTFO.
I don't see a GIF made for any other coach screaming like a mad man. You might think it's funy, and I admit it does kind of sound funny, but you're telling me other coaches have done just as embarrassing screaming and yet you can only come up with 2 other coaches, and 1 of those coaches almost got fired for it! -
killer_ewok
You said show us after I said that other coaches do it and I did. Then it had to be in GIF form and I'll say it one last time....a gif does not make anything any more or less true. If it fucking happened, it happened. GIF's are made, for the most part, because something looked funny and Kelly's face looked hilarious when he was going apeshit. Embarrassing....well, that's in the eye of the beholder. What, do people sit around and say,"That's pretty crazy, I'm gonna make it into a gif. But wait, it's gotta be embarrassing for it to be a gif."SportsAndLady;887850 wrote:The GIF thing is a legit argument, whether you like to keep making fun of it or not.

I made a claim, there's video to back it and that's what makes what I said true. I didn't make any claims about GIF's but that's the be all, end all for you in this convo....so, so be it. Also, who cares if it was just two other coaches? I said other coaches but didn't specify it was X amount of coaches who have done it though I think it's safe to say that more than just 3 coaches in the history of college football have went bananas on the sideline. But, shit....there aren't gif's of all of them so they didn't really happen. Or they don't count. Or the lack of the GIF proof means that it must not be comparable to what Kelly did. I don't even see what your logic is.....probably because there is none.
