You're fucking clueless -- but we knew that.
NOTHING in this article raises the level of penalties OSU is likely to face from the NCAA.
Nothing.
Nada
Nyet.
There is a shitload of innuendo and "he said" "unnamed source said" crap in the article and NO proof. None. Zip. Zero.
It's almost laughable considering the hype that surrounded it. -

Yup. The hype machine did a good job on this one -

Ok, let me first say that this SI piece was blown out of proportion. But I think that Martin's car deal could be considered a big deal. That might cause issues -

Do you even understand the infractions against Tressel? I am guessing no, based on your uninformed posts -

Your fucking disappointment is waaaay bigger than my fricken relief....that humors me. -
chicago510Ty Webb=George Dohrmann ?
Only two that seem to think this was anything special. -
jordo212000smh at TP again. When asked where he gets all of the memoribilia he gave away: "I get whatever I want"
-

And you think thats ok LJ?
Those pictures will be in front of the NCAA in August and will only hurt Ohio States case -

How? Martin is gone. Tressel is gone. Unless you can prove the entire athletic department is somehow culpable, it's a non-starter. -

Buying weed is a CRIMINAL OFFENSE and against team rules. The NCAA doesn't get involved in either of those things.
EDIT: The NCAA will only be concerned with the sale of the merchandise, and that is not new. -

They can be through failure to monitor or lack of institutional control if that violation is still within the statute of limitations. But I am quite sure that the NCAA is already well aware. -
Ty WebbIt's truly amazing how you guys are ok with amount of rule and law breaking that went on here

Ehh idk USC is still getting punished even though all that stuff came out after Bush was gone... -
wes_mantoothDamn...all that hype and that is it? Good job by SI of getting people to read their garbage though
-

Did it matter that Bush and Carroll were gone for USC? -

You mean in dec when they already went over that? -

This. Martin hasn't been gone all that long and that is a major violation. Obviously Ohio State would be punished if this is found to be true.
Writer, are you serious man? Are you familiar with how infractions/punishments work? Rarely does the NCAA find something out about somebody while they are still in college. Generally it is after the fact, and to your surpise, yes we can still get punished for that -

What's truly amazing that you take that literary rehash with a couple photos provided by criminals to heart... -
dat dudeThe fact that the car dealership issue wasn't discussed much is interesting. I would assume SI looked deeply into those deals. Maybe they couldn't find anything??
-
karen lotzDon't think ole George Dohrmann will be winning a Pulitzer for investigative reporting for this article. The only thing that could hurt OSU more with the NCAA was Gene Smith saying in December that the whole thing was limited to the 6 guys that were suspended then and other than that there were no other violations.

Wasn't the tickets-for-SUV violation already mentioned by the NCAA in the NOA? I don't think that's anything new. It's just the name wasn't public knowledge. -

If true, the players used memoribilia to get goods. In this case, illegal goods. That's still an issue. You can't give away memoribilia in exchange for goods/services.
