They interviewed some high school classmates, one a friend for many years who said he had to finally walk away from the friendship. He said it became obvious Talbot was nothing more than a small time conman who would con anybody out of anything at anytime, as his delusions of grandeur got higher and higher. An area athlete who graduated from high school the same year as Talbot, said in the 1990s he approached him and some other small college football players, saying he would arrange Pro tryouts for them.
Talbot has owned staffing and recruiting businesses in the past decade. The IRS filed a lien on Talbot in 2009 for $278,875 for unpaid federal taxes. in 2010 Ohio filed a lien on Talbot for $74,227 for back taxes owed the State. Liens by several companies are also on the books against Talbot.
According to public websites Talbot claims to have graduated from Kent State University, but the Kent State registrar's offices said Talbot attend school there for only two semesters.
Sweet. My school plays in their league. I probably played football against those guys he wanted setup tryouts for. LOL -

The ones for employment do see that you have accounts. They don't give acct numbers or how much is in there, just where they are and what kind. See, when you sign your scholarship contract, you agree to it. -

I'd love to see the exact verbage. And I didn't think Fabco pulled bank account records. -

Apparently the investigation is done and the NCAA has left Columbus. -

Like I said FABCO won't pull bank records, you can just see where and if they have an acct.
And that's what I want to see to. Are they just asking what their accounts are? Are they just able to get trans histories? can they download and keep all 4-5 years worth or can they just look at a "read only" copy while the contract is valid? Many quetions about it that need answered. -

I think you may be wrong. Fabco is a credit reporting company. I've used them extensively in the past and heard of an option to see depository institutions. I may be wrong though. -

Depends on what level you run. They aren't just credit, it's a background check company. They include everything from rental history, credit report, criminal records and so on.
And how extensively? I used it mulitple times daily for about 6 years. That was my job when I worked in the office -

I know that Michigan mechanic said UM compliance was busting his balls because he didn't cash a check given to him my a UM player. But whether they would still have access after he left, who knows. -

But they wouldn't know that unless the player gave them his check ledger every month or something. You can't see outstanding checks unless you know they are out there. -

I posted the story here a couple times. Compliance knew the check existed because the mechanic did the work for pizza and beer, and they wouldn't go for that. They got quotes from another mechanic and made the player pay him. He wasn't going to cash the check b/c the player was a friend of his. -

But like I said, they had to know about it. They didn't know about it because of bank records. Bank records don't show uncashed checks. -

Right....
They knew it wasn't cashed b/c it wasn't in the bank records. How else would you know? -

jordo212000Yeah I was curious as to what the Torg had as well. I usually listen everyday, but we get out early on Friday's now. Gotta love summer hours

LJWhat a typical Common Man and Torg fail....
TP hired Jon Gruden, may be talking with networks about a tv show -

I wonder how he paid him? Autographs and memorabilia? -
LJ
This makes me LOL at the Talbott guy more. Owes hundreds of thousands in taxes, gets kicked out of Country Club for non-payment.... yet he paid TP $40k? Yeah ok. I'm sure there was something shady. I think the "20-40k" is bullshit -
enigmaaxQuick question for Buckeye fans - I've seen it posted that Pryor lost 4 games as a starter. I know he didn't start the USC loss his freshman year, but what other loss did he not start (or is that number incorrect)? The other losses during his career were Penn State and Texas in 08, USC and Purdue in 09, and of course Wisconsin in 10.

I'm gonna say Texas in '08/ Fiesta Bowl. I think Boeckman may have started that one. -

Would've been my guess - I remember Boeckman playing (didn't TP catch a TD in that game), but don't follow close enough to know if he would've started. Apparently it was some kind of reward-the-benched-senior thing? -

I think Pryor just struggled towards the end of that season, and Boeckman was given the start. Pryor then came in strictly to run the ball, if I remember correctly. Then he eventually took most of the carries towards the end of the 2nd half...could be wrong about that last part though. I just remember a lot of people calling for Boeckman to play, and he actually didn't do too awful, I don't think. -
Big GainPryor coulda won a couple more games if it wasn't for the writer's cramp from signing so much stuff for Talbot.

Personally, I've never understood the concept that because I a fan of a team, I want to hang out with the players.
Actually I would not be surprised if Talbott posted on the other site and/or on here. -
