to everyone who is bashing pryor for everything that has happened, they need to stop. honestly i blame the university for letting this happen under their nose and also the coach. he writes a book about morals then he lets this happen while he knew about it the whole time. it is sad

    Yeah....Pryor shouldn't be blamed. gtfo.

Of course JT is to blame also, but a lot of this should be on the AD and compliance department. Tressel was the football COACH.

Those who actually broke the rules are blameless?

This. Everyone who participated, knew and said nothing, or should have known are all to blame.

How is the AD and compliance to blame? They have a system in place to educate the players on what NOT to do. They are not there to follow players around and babysit them. Smith is not there to do either one as well. His FAULT, is that he trusted Tressel to run the program. And it was Tressels program to run. He was the head coach of the football program. Smith has to oversee the largest athletic venue in the entire country. The coaches are hired to oversee each one of those. Smith cannnot nor should he micro manage what goes on. There is not enough time in the day to do so. My personal opinion is that Smith is and was not involved in this mess. Did he handle things the way they should have been handled? Who knows. I am sure he regrets the news conference. But who the hell knows how to handle a situation like that? Its not like it happens every day. They could have easily done their due process, and what they said was what they found. It would NOT be HARD for individual players to do what they did and get away with it. They almost did..and I have NO doubt MANY, MANY around the country do get away with it every day. OSU got caught. Most others do not. It is what it is. The but players are the ones who CHOSE to do what they did. This after being told numerous times what NOT to do. THere is A LOT of blame to go around. But its starts and ends with the players making POOR choices. No one is in this situation had they done the right thing in the first place.

So you mean to tell me Smith and compliance was unaware of the entire car situation? I find that really hard to believe. Hell I saw players in dealer rides show up at the Blackwell with coaches right behind them....NUMEROUS times. Don't act like Gene Smith was clueless......no fucking way. He's just as much to blame as Tressel.

spot on--and IMO, he won't be here when September rolls around either

If Smith, Tressel, and the compliance were unaware of any of it, why would they Talbott to cut ties with the program in the middle of last season? Same thing happened with the car dealer who was on player's pass lists. Someone had to have known, and instead of reporting it, tried to sweep it under the rug.

Take this to the bank: Storm Klein's family will not be suing SI. Period.
Gotta be true if he used sleeper's line.

Was reading the Torg's Twitter....and he said something else big is supposed to come out tomorrow

He's probably going off of what Pryor's lawyer said today
So, like the movie, Absence of Malice, Sports Illustrated will probably get away with that. They can probably get a free ride. So it would be good money after bad and wasted time and resources.

If it's waiting till their show, I wouldn't hold my breath. They hype up stupid promos like that all the time. Could be something though, but I'll wait till it shows up. Won't listen.

Yeah, I don't remember too many days the past 3 weeks where someone would've said "Something big's coming out tomorrow" and been wrong.

The Torg has actually been pretty spot on. I know he's a goofball but for some reason I trust him.

Compliance already got caught in a lie. So I do think they were well aware of sketchy things going on.
