Terrelle Pryor not returning to OSU
-
krambmanJoe Schad just tweeted that OSU believes Pryor will be eligible for the supplemental draft, which indicates that his eligibility for the coming season was about to change (meaning he was likely going to be suspended longer, which isn't a surprise).

I was aware of them but chose to ignore them. There, now I can rip him with a clear conscience.
And any other fan of any other program would feel the same way. I know I would. As long as ND was winning...I wouldn't give two shits if the starting QB was a selfish arrogant asshole. -

Must have been tough to root for Jimmy Clausen then -

how does that indicate his suspension was going to be longer? -

In order to declare for the supplemental, you have to be ineligible/suspended for the year or have some other extreme circumstances. -

Made me really hate him because he was an arrogant prick coming in AND Notre Dame was getting it handed to them weekly. -

Funniest story I heard about Clausen came from a friend of mine who goes to ND who said he would show up to parties wearing a crown. Made me laugh pretty hard. -

Coach leaving counts as this as well. They are just going for shock value. -
karen lotzYeah I guess that could be under extreme circumstances? You are right about the shock value more than likely, but I had never heard that a coaching change could make someone eligible for it.

The issue, and I FIRMLY believe this...is that you will win most of those games, mainly because you are just flat out a better team. But all things equal, that selfishness rears its ugly head in adversity, and that team/player usually folds up. To this day, I firmly believe you win with character. Back in the Troy Smith days..I was far from a supporter and said OSU will never win a championship with him behind center. Unfortantely, that came true and he showed his true colors in that last game. Rarely do the selfish shine through when it counts. -

I can agree with that. But if ND was 31-4 during Clausen's three years, with 3 wins over USC, and 2 BCS bowl wins...I would have loved the kid.
It's just the nature of being a fan. If the team is winning...you look past the character flaws of the playmakers. If the team isn't winning, or something like this happens, those character flaws really stand out. -

True, but Clausen didn't have near the talent around him that Pryor did on both sides of the ball. Personally, I always thought Clausen was a damn good college QB. And I don't believe most ND fans blame him for ND failures during his tenure. Nor should they. At OSU, people will soon forget what Pryor did on the field. He will be viewed at as a villan. Its possible that 31-4 record could turn into something like 21-14 over night as well. -

Pryor had more talent surrounding him on offense? Clausen had Michael Floyd (2 years), Golden Tate (2 years), Kyle Rudolph (2 years) and John Carlson (1 year). Pryor has had Beanie Wells for half a year. The talent on offense isn't comparable. Now, defense OTOH, is a big difference. And any ND fan will tell you the defense was the primary reason for those awful years in SB. Clausen was an excellent QB.
And if (when) OSU has victories vacated, they will not be forfeits. So your last sentence is false as well. -
thedynasty1998Pryor had more overall talent on his teams. Pryor would have a similar record if he never threw a single pass.

killer_ewokIgnoring cockiness/arrogance because of winning......hmmm.....
Charlie Weis' first 2 years come to mind!
I definitely didn't give a shit about how brash he was when they were going 10-3. However, that stuff got real old real quick (like his playcalling in year 3 and beyond....) when things went South. -

You do know Pryor shows up to bars and parties saying "How many of you girls am I going to fuck tonight?" within the first ten seconds of meeting them. He once showed up to a cheerleader's hotel room angry, who had been shooting him down all season, and started yelling at her about getting it in. At which point he realized the rooms were connected and there were a dozen cheerleaders listen. Yes, you know exactly what I'm insinuating. I trust my friend on the cheerleading squad. My favorite story though is when he brought a girl back to his place, fucked her, and then when she tried to sleep in his bed he kicked her off and made her sleep on his floor. A wood floor, with a towel as a blanket. The guy is a real winner.
I find Jimmy Clausen to be a California douchebag who is form the same vein of athletic arrogance, but not anywhere near Pryor. If Notre Dame had a defense and had a great 2009 season as a team, maybe that'd have happened. I do think he's maturing as a person while in the NFL fighting for a spot.
Well that's tough to say. He did win the Iowa and Wisconsin games with great athletic performances.thedynasty1998;795177 wrote:Pryor had more overall talent on his teams. Pryor would have a similar record if he never threw a single pass. -

I heard this exact same story, except I heard she was on her period, and so he laid a towel on his bed, fucked her on it, then gave her the bloody towel to use as a blanket. -

And to go on a little further into what I heard..she told him she's still on her period but almost done...so he reached up her skirt, pulled her tampon out, looked at it and said "it aint that bad" then they fucked. -
Tobias FünkeI should say I've never felt the need to hold being an asshole against someone successful. Even selfishness. It makes them incredibly competitive in my opinion. My sister is incredibly selfish, but she's fierce and won a state championship in track. On the other end of the spectrum, my cousin JD is a selfless individual and is an All-American. There are different routes but I'd say the arrogant/selfish athlete is more common. Certainly not as loved. You'd be a fool to say that Michael Jordan isn't selfish or arrogant though, and yet he's one of the most loved in history. I guess it just depends.

I've never SMH'd more in my life. hah
I was working on time and a girl showed me a picture of a half dozen or so girls sitting in a hallway. I asked what it was and she said "it's a line at a party of girls waiting to give TP a blowjob together." That is just impressive...
