He'll get longer. He has the backing of the administration. That is what RR was lacking. -

I think this Michigan Man stuff was largely responsible for the Rich Rod experience not working. Obviously the people spouting off about Michigan men can't play defense, but they never seemed to really embrace him or much less give him a chance.
The worst part about the "process" is that Brandon stated today that Hoke was his choice all along and that JH and LM were not offered the job. Then why not fire RR after OSU game and hire Hoke? He just wasted 6 weeks of precious recruiting time. -

Maybe he thought Harbaugh would have said he wanted to be in AA? Then I think he would have almost had to have gone with him. -

I'd take their opinions over those of some grads.
Of course there will obviously be some who like the hiring, but that wasn't my point. So Hoke would have been the first choice of these former players who "LOVE" the hiring? -

Actually yes. The 3 people I know have endorsed him since the search started. -

You have no frickin' clue what you are talking about.ccrunner609;634981 wrote:Oh yeah sure, write history as you like. UM wanted and backed RR so bad..they paid $2.5 million to buy him from WV. GTFOH.
As for anyone saying Hoke was their first choice is a flat out liar. He wasnt top 3. -

You don't believe that though do you? I hope not. -
bigkahunaThey wanted him so bad after Les refused the first time and they realized Shiano was probably going to be worse than RR turned out to be. Yea they wanted him because they basically had to settle for him.
Webbie, if what you're saying is true, than Brandon can stick a pizza up his ass.
1. Like what you said about the 6 weeks of recruiting.
2. IF IF IF Les Miles WOULD HAVE ACCEPTED IF OFFERED (like ESPN reported), then we'd have Les Miles in Ann Arbor.
Don't get me wrong, I still like this hire, but I would have taken Les over Brady any day of the week.
Lastly, the whole Michigan Man thing doesn't mean he has to be a graduate of the University. Bo, Moeller, and Lloyd weren't students either, they just coached there and helped create/sustain the tradition. Maybe it's just me, but RR never Got it and it hurt him. Much like Cooper at OSU, he didn't really understand what it is entailed to be a coach at Michigan. I said it on another thread, but look at Kentucky with Billy G. Yea, he was a decent coach, but he didn't Get it at Kentucky, which is why he was gone after 2 seasons. -
bigkahunaWebbie, whenever I see your avatar of Hoke, I think of this...
He looks like Steve Schirripa -
bo shemmy3337I am not seeing the poor seasons like the ones with RR. Hoke's OC can and has run many different offenses and he will will get the defense to improve. I think DR will be the starting qb and they will win 7 or 8 games. The schedule is not that hard either IMO.

BRANDON IS A LIAR. -

Naw he is just a moron with a lot of money is a horrible AD. I don't think he offered the job to Les though but I am sure he did to JH. Hoke is not a bad choice though IMO. -

He also broke the news that Harbaugh was staying at Stanfordou1980;634104 wrote:Cowherd on espn radio just broke the news that miles is staying at LSU -

Give the guy a chance. Michigan plays 8 teams a year that they should beat by talent alone IMO. Just play a little defense and they win 6 next year let alone if they have an offense which I think they will. -

A few seasons ago, yeah, Michigan should have beaten at least 70% of their schedule on talent alone, but now, Michigan has one of the middle of the road talented teams. A lot of offensive talent, NO defensive talent. I think Hoke will change that though.
As an OSU fan, I think this is a decent hire for Michigan. We'll see if this guy can do it on a higher level than the MAC and the MWC. -

They got 3 games OOC they should win IMO and 2 or 3 they should win in the Big 10. I see them winning 7 or 8 with the new defensive look. -

Sad part is, he may not be. So many factions at Michigan and they got in the way last time. Brandon, Carr and Mary Sue Coleman all effed this up. MSC didn't want Harbaugh or Miles. Brandon is on record saying Miles would never hire Miles "on his watch".
There was a lot of speculation the day RRod was fired that Hoke would be the guy, and that the rest was a show to appease the factions that wanted JH or LM.
Michigan athletic department is a mess right now.
Les Miles quote yesterday: "This isn't the same Michigan that I left." There may be something to that. -
WebFireIf you don't believe this stuff, CB from Rivals just pretty much confirmed it. He said Miles was never going to get an offer and never should have even been talked to. Harbaugh should be the coach and even said at one time he was coming, but him and Brandon's egos were too big and they butted heads.
