For what it's worth, Aaron Lynch of Cape Coral, Fla., is now listed in the #NotreDame student directory. -
rock_knutne^^^^^Barring a last minute disaster, he's going to be Irish!

Fuck yes!!!Irish Sports Daily can confirm that Florida DE Aaron Lynch has committed to Notre Dame. -
Tobias Fünketwo five-star recruits in two days? i'm game.
-
Crimson streakUnreal job by Kelly and his staff. The defense is looking amazing in the next couple years
-
Tobias Fünke...yes I'm saying Lynch is a five-star guy, because he should be. In my opinion he's better than Tuitt.

Scout has him as a 5 star guy. And they have Lynch as the 6th best DE, Tuitt is 12th ranked and a 4 star. -
Tobias FünkeGood. I was looking at Rivals.
-
sherm03Unreal!

Yeah, I don't know which one is better. Scout is usually a little quicker with the updates so I go there more often.Tobias Fünke;639059 wrote:Good. I was looking at Rivals. -
Tobias FünkeI look at all of them since I don't know who is better, and Notre Dame's class is now #3 on Scout and #11 on Rivals. Very nice.
-
karen lotzI'm not sure Kelly will ever be able to recruit well enough at Notre Dame.

Hahahaha.........I think BK has shown what he's made of when given the chance. Weis brought in a couple good classes but this is the BEST recruiting class ND has seen since Lou Holtz was there. Given that BK has shown he can develop players this year, the future is looking very very good in South Bend!karen lotz;639091 wrote:I'm not sure Kelly will ever be able to recruit well enough at Notre Dame. -
Tobias FünkeI don't know Clausen's class was pretty loaded.

What was that class ranked? Depending on the service, I'm thinking top ten for sure but this class that BK has put together is going to be top five for sure or better........that hasn't happened since Holtz. Then again, ranking mean nothing if they don't produce wins or have the right development which BK has shown he can do. -
karen lotzI think Clausen's class was around 3 or 4. This class is by far the best defensive class since Holtz.
Actually looking at just Scout's rankings, Clausen's class was 11th and the class before that was 5th. That had a lot to do with the size of the classes. '07 had 18 and '06 had 28. About the only guys from the '06 class that panned out at all were Sam Young, Chris Stewart, Darrin Walls, Sergio Brown and Dan Wenger. 5 or 6 of that class transferred. -
grodtGreat news the future is looking as bright as it's been in a long while on the defensive front. When we hired Kelly I was curious how his system would look being run by the higher caliber of players he could get at Notre Dame. Now I guess we'll see what he can do.
Oh and side note, am I the only one who thought it was pronounced 'eye-shaq'? -
athlete37The class after Clausen's was rated as the top class in the country-- Floyd, Crist, Rudolph, KLM, Ethan Johnson, Filer, Fleming, Fauria, Trevor Robinson, Blanton etc. http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/commitments/2008/notredame-104;_ylt=AuUHkYvIv3hDB1Fp4tV2Vl9JPZB4

Tobias FünkeYEAR - Ranking, # of recruits, recruit star average form Scout.com
2011 - 3rd 22+ 3.59
2010 - 19th 23 3.17
2009 - 23rd 18 3.56
2008 - 2nd 23 3.96
2007 -11th 18 3.72
2006 - 5th 28 3.61
2005 - 27th 13 3.27
Was 2005 the class during the Willingham-Weis shift? Goodness Willingham was a terrible recruiter.
I think that 2008 class was incredible because of the size and the average star of the players. They are the catalyst for rebuilding the program. What I like about 2011 is that is fits pretty perfectly with Notre Dame's needs. The staff did a great job of making sure they focused on DE and OLB. I got the feeling Weis went after the best of the best and if he didn't get them he was screwed and lacked depth at certain places, most notably QB and S.
If Brian Kelly got Niklas, Carlisle, and Huggins, this would be a GREAT class. -
Tobias FünkeNotre Dame finished 19th in 2010 according to Jeff Sagarin. I would agree.

I thought the same until I saw somewhere that it was "ee" shaq a couple of days ago. -
grodtIn that one article his dad said it's pronounced "EE-Shock" I think he said it was Arabic.

The EqualizerHmmm....We could start calling our Defense front 7 EE-Shock-and-Awe
