Not a problem, I though it was obvious on what I was saying. -

1- Go fuck yourself.
2- You didn't say at Ohio State, you said "Tressel has never had 5 losses in the regular season," which is entirely false. But first, may I ask how that is the measure of a better coach? I mean I really want to know what goes on inside that tiny little brain of yours that would somehow get you to think one coach is better than the other because one had five losses in the regular season. I mean really, are you in the sixth grade? See if you can comprehend this: 41-14.
For what it's worth, Jim Tressel has had five losses in the regular season four times. Do your own fucking homework child. -

TiernanHe's a QUITTER plain & simple.
named after a Pope by his dead mother (next stop will be South Bend in 2 yrs when Kelly is let go) -
krambmanI half expected to wake up this morning and hear that he had changed his mind and was only taking a leave-of-absence now.
-
supermanMaybe he will go to the NFL and reunite with his best quarterback. He could be the OC in San Francisco.

j_crazycowherd has info that the job is filled, and the name will shock you.
the tease he left going to break was "stab" -
Speedofsandstab = Chucky

j_crazyit's an acronym. I've read dozens on Tigerdroppings:
Saban
Tells
Alabama
Bye
Sorry
Texas
And
Brown
(for Muschamp)
Senator
Tressel
Abandons
Buckeyes
(that was mine) -

I'm really interested to hear if Cowherd's information is factual. He's not a guy with a lot of "sources" so I think this does give him some credibility if he is actually one of the first to end up breaking this. Really surprising that Florida would already have made a decision and is in contract talks.
The thing is that it could be anyone. Florida is a top 5 job (maybe even higher), so they could go after anyone they want and probably at least make a pitch to them.
I think Petersen just makes too much sense for him to not get the first look. -

good one!!! -
jordo212000I love Cowherd but I'm not sure I'm buying this. If he had breaking news, he'd be breaking it or discussing it "as a rumor" and not say he had inside information. To me he was just trying to drive viewers to his show (it worked for me, I saw a post on here about him knowing so I turned on the radio). Turns out he was just sitting there BSing while listening to people try and fill in the blanks with his acronym.

#1 Proves you're an ugly mouthed juvenile teenie.Tobias Fünke;593621 wrote:1- Go fuck yourself.

#2 If you had an above average intellect you would have gleened that this thread is about Urban Meyer and his years at Florida, one of the top programs. Tressel has been at a major program while at Ohio State. Facts are justified there. NO ONE has even considered Div1AA football as worthy of discussion other than YOU.
Please show us where I have said anything about someone being a better coach due to records. I DARE YOU. I've just been supplying facts.
Your stupidity raises its ugly immature head when the following feces spews from your mouth...."tiny little brain".....are you in the 6th grade?"....those make you sound like a middle school bully.
Since YOU sillily felt a need to include Tressel's team records at YSU why didn't you also mention his teams making it to 6 Div1AA Championship Games and winning 4 of them? Could that failure have something to do with brain size? -
queencitybuckeyeWhat is intelledt and who is Urban Meyers?

smh lol -
Big GainMore facts. In 3 of the 6 years at Florida Meyer's teams had league records of 5-3, 5-3, and 4-4.

So again, I'll ask...what is your point? You are throwing random facts out for no reason to pass your day? You originally posted a comparison...was there no intended conclusion? The thread wasn't about Jim Tressel so why did you bring him into the conversation? Were you pointing out that both are good, both are bad, one is better? If you could provide some insight into these questions, we wouldn't be left to arrive at our own conclusion as to your intent. -
enigmaaxBut I guess, since we are just throwing out facts, this might be relevant:
Meyer, 46, is the country's winningest active coach (percentage) with 10 seasons or more, posting 103 victories against just 23 losses for a .817 winning percentage in his 10 seasons. He reached 100 wins in 118 games, the second-fastest number of games to reach the century mark since 1945. Overall, only five coaches reached the 100-win mark quicker.
He is the first coach in the history of the Football Bowl Subdivision to post back-to-back 13-win seasons (2008 and 2009) and is the only coach to record three 13-win seasons in a four-year span. -
Ty WebbIf they hire Bob Stoops...I will personally fly down to Gainsville and punch Jeremy Foley in the face

My point? Just like you, nothing more than presenting facts for others to peruse and employ. What was your intent? Surely not just to convince someone to favor one coach over another right? Are your facts random? Are your facts without reason? Don't you think both Meyer and Tressel are very good coaches? Might they not be 1 and 2 over the past decade?enigmaax;594336 wrote:But I guess, since we are just throwing out facts, this might be relevant:

BTW, since you broached the subject, are you sure about the winningest active coach (percentage) with 10 seasons or more?? Tressel in his 10 years as a Div1 coach, 105 victories against just 22 losses for a .827 winning percentage. Tressel reached 100 wins in 121 games, all at a Top 10 football school.
Meyer's 6 years at a Top Ten football school, 64-15 .810. Tressel in the same 6 year period at a Top 10 football school, 65-11 .832. Tressel was the first coach at a Div1 school to go 14-0 in a season. -

I should've put quotes around my last post - I took the info from an article and also meant to link it. My bad. But to answer your question, I don't think it meant Meyer was the winningest active coach in his ten seasons versus other coaches ten seasons; I believe it refers to the fact that of all the active coaches in the country, his career win percentage is the highest.
So your point was that Tressel and Meyer are the top two coaches over the last decade? Why didn't you just say that? There are some others who would be in that conversation...and other factors to consider besides simple win percentage. Meyer, Saban, and Carroll all won two titles (yes, you can debate Carroll if you like). Stoops has had his team in more championship games than anyone. Brown had a pretty good run. It is interesting to see where Meyer fits with these guys. -

SpeedofsandGruden chatted with Meyer and Foley yesterday at an Outback Bowl event. Gruden is announcing it with Tirico. Looks like Gruden is not our next coach from what my source said.

TiernanUrban saw that FL was headed towards some lean years and simply quit to save the legacy. Gutless to use his "family" as the excuse.
