  Based on his performance Ingram could easily be higher except that he missed the first two games.

  
  I'm right with you. I honestly think Ingram is completely out of the equation.....unless he has out of this world stats.
  
  Also I just read through all of the BS in this thread. I frequent a lot of message forums and this is the only one where mods are not held to a higher standard. Here they contribute to the garbage lol.

  Denard Robinson obviously is #1, but we all know this is sometimes a team award as well, so unless Michigan plans on going undefeated he won't win it(and they won't beat OSU for sure).
  
  Ingram? Seriously? No. Ingram is a good football player no doubt, but he's already missed 2 games, and let's face it, there will NEVER be another 2 time winner. If Tebow with the media hanging all over his nuts can't do it, no one will, and Ingram isn't THAT good either. Amazing that the people saying Ingram are ND fans, they know almost nothing about college football.

  If Archie Griffin managed to get handed the heisman after only having 4 tds the second time, I don't see why Ingram couldn't.

  Its 2010 my friend. Things have changed. As an OSU fan I am kinda baffled at Archie winning his 2nd.

  It's almost impossible to believe that he won the 2nd with 4 TDs. Especially with Dorsett and Bell dominating.
  
  Regardless, I wouldn't count Ingram out yet. The heisman watch is getting thinner and thinner every week. If it gets down to guys like Kellen Moore and Ingram as the only ones who haven't blown it for themselves, I can't see Moore getting it over Ingram.

  When you had Pete Johnson as the go to guy at the goal line it's not that hard to understand why Archie didn't get more scores. That team was loaded. Nobody uses FB like they did back in the day. I seriously doubt we'll ever see another two time winner, and I think Archie was an anomaly.

  If Keenum and his numbers at Houston didn't impress, I find it hard to believe Moore will do so either.

  I think for Ingram to win it again he's going to need to break 2K yards. Its not going to be enough to put up the same numbers he did last year, he will have to be better. I think winning it last year will cause the voters to hold him to a higher standard this season. I think this is what cost Tim Tebow a second Heisman after winning it his sophomore season.

  What a joke. In the years past, if a player missed one game he was basically disqualified in everyone's eyes.

  Numbers are important, but so are "Heisman Moments". If Ingram runs all over FL this week , and South Carolina the next, like he just did against ARK, he'll be on his way. He has Auburn (who will most likely be undefeated also) at the end of the year in the Iron Bowl, then the SEC Championship game. It's not hard to see how he could put together some big games and big time performances against top 10 teams the rest of the year.

  True. But the Big Ten will be very good this year with plenty of big games for both Robinson and Pryor. Not to mention, the most important time frame for these awards are towards the end of the year, and Robinson will get a chance to beat OSU, which will be one of the bigger wins in Big Ten history (if OSU continues to dominate the Big Ten like it has the past 10 years).

  Oh, I defenately agree. i was just making a point htat it doesn't have everything to do with numbers, there are intangibles also. Pryor going into that Michigan game against a 1 loss or undefeated Mich team, and dominating would be a huge push for him. This day and age, alot of the voters have access to tons of info, but they also have access to nationally tlevised/hyped up games and "Heisman Moments" shown over and over and over again on ESPN.

  If I was actually a Heisman voter, I'd want the Heisman winner to emerge on their own. Like basically smacking you in the face that they are the winner. There's a performance or a few plays where you just say "yep, that's the Heisman winner."
  
  Of course, it doesn't always happen that way. Sometimes it's not clear and you have to consider many factors when it comes time.

  Yeah, think about Dennis Dixon a few years ago. Everyone pretty much agreed that it was his to lose, then he got hurt and wasn't even invited to New York. I think it's the fact that his injury was at the beginning of the season so he has plenty of time to make up for missing two games. And he's looked fantastic (better than last year) in those two games since his return.

  I gotcha. I agree with your point, I was just coming at it from Robinson and Pryor's side.

  There is also a good chance the Iron Bowl will feature 2 undefeated teams led by Heisman candidates.

  this...If Ingram continues at the pace he's set, he'll be in NYC. I'm not saying he'll win, but IMO he'll get invited.
