What else does Boise have to prove?

karen lotzjordo, he doesn't allow a computer in his lake house in Michigan. Otherwise he would have been able to tell us ahead of time.

bucks36I suppose Boise will stay in the top 5 but they aren't going to have much of an argument over a 1 loss Bama or OSU at the end of the season when they say their biggest win was over Virginia Tech.

I believe they were 4th or 5th. I know that they were no lower than 5th after the win over UM that year.devil1197;474574 wrote:I remember that year, tbh OSU had no right playing in the NCG. What were they ranked after the Michigan game in November, like 7th or 8th. Every week after that a top team lost.
I know that you posted this before VA Tech lost to JMU, but seriously, you thought VA Tech was better than Nebraska?trep14;478538 wrote:Something doesn't add up. A team that is willing to fly across the country to essentially play a road game against a Virginia Tech team that is better than Nebraska is now trying to duck said Nebraska team?
My guess is that Nebraska wanted Boise to come to Lincoln for less money and not have a return trip to Boise. And if the schedule involves a one way trip, Boise to Nebraska, with no return trip by Nebraska, I can't necessarily blame Boise for turning it down. Heck Colorado, a middle of the pack BCS team is getting paid $1.4 million dollars for a one way trip to the Horseshoe next year for a game that wouldn't make nearly as much money as a Nebraska-Boise game. Nebraska would stand to make a killing if they got Boise to come to Lincoln for a couple hundred thousand dollars.
I wouldn't either, the ACC is total garbage.trep14;480268 wrote:Yeah I remember that. Michigan lost to App State and then got blasted by Oregon before going on a 8 game winning streak and almost winning the Big 10. I still wouldn't be surprised if Va Tech competes for the ACC title and ends up in a BCS game. -

Ehhh I mean its easy now after the JMU loss to say Va Tech is a worse team than Nebraska (which they definitely are). But prior to that, I mean it would have been a toss up. But consider that this is in terms of scheduling purposes, where you are usually scheduling a team a year or two ahead of time. Va Tech has been a better program than Nebraska in recent history. If you asked me two years ago who I thought would be better in 2010, Nebraska or Va Tech, I would have said Va Tech. My point is that if Boise State wasn't ducking Va Tech, I would have a hard time believing that they would be scared to play Nebraska. -
jordo212000Yeah Nebraska came out of nowhere last year. I mean they had an awesome defense, but they weren't that great at the same time. Suh/the near upset of Texas gave them a ton of street cred. They are just now getting that program back on track. I'd agree with trep and his reasoning (this game was setup some time ago... Va Tech was better... so, I doubt Boise was "ducking" Nebraska)

Cleveland BuckIn the chat on ESPN with Mark Schlabach, some guy made a great point.
Shouldn't non-hypocrital Boise supporters be accepting of JMU as a NC contender? Their SOSs are very similar and JMU has the more impressive win over VT. -

Uhhh, no. No way are their schedules the same. -

I agree with you, VA Tech has been the better program over the last 5 years, but I really think Nebraska (I thought this before the JMU upset) that Nebraska was better this season that Va Tech, although I didn't think Va Tech was this bad until the JMU loss. I could have seen them go either way, but now if they played, I'd be surprised if Va Tech won.trep14;481034 wrote:Ehhh I mean its easy now after the JMU loss to say Va Tech is a worse team than Nebraska (which they definitely are).
