What else does Boise have to prove?

Or leave the MWC.....Be like BYU become independent..... -

They go off how they played. The Oregon win last year means nothing this year. The Oregon game means nothing this year except for the momentum they brought into the new year. -
Cleveland Buckcats gone wild;474340 wrote:That's a good point, and they dont get beat up as bad playing weaker teams.
On Virginia Tech's last possession with the lead, they were pounding the ball and Boise's defense was out of gas. If they hand it to Williams two more times instead of fucking around with Taylor out of the shotgun, they win the game. Imagine how beat up they would be if they had to play that same game for the next 3 weeks after this? Those 1 and 2 star underclassmen recruits better be ready to step in and play when guys get hurt. -

LOL...you're using their past performance to put the in the ship...c'mon man -
dat dudekaren lotz;474326 wrote:This isn't meant to turn it into an OSU bashing or whatever but...How many NFL quality players are on Marshall, Ohio U, Eastern Michigan, and Indiana? The same can be said for every single BCS conference team's schedule and Notre Dame's. Granted, OSU (and others) has teams on their schedule with a lot of NFL talent, but not every opponent does.
Considering Indiana and OU combined had one less (4) player drafted last year than the ENTIRE WAC conference (5), I would say your theory would be incorrect. -
karen lotzRight so 1 or 2 NFL caliber players on a team is going to physically beat a team up? How many of you had heard of the tackle from Indiana before he became the Rams starting tackle. How many skill guys came from those teams? OU might have had a receiver if I remember right. When you mix those one players in with the rest of the players that fill out the roster, they don't matter.
-
dat dudeSo, what is your point? That Boise's schedule is comparable to OSU's? You will clearly lose the NFL talent argument.
-
ytownfootballHell, the overall talent is better by far...by FAR what they see in the WAC, let alone NFL talent.
-
karen lotzNo I said nothing about comparing the two schedules. Someone said they need to play NFL talent week in and week out correct? How much NFL talent was on Marshall and will be on Indiana, Eastern Michigan, etc. Like I said, EVERY BCS team has games like that.
-

So Indiana goes to the WAC and doesn't lose a conference game because they will beat up every team there? -

Right, but they have 10 games like that. 10. You cherry picked 4 from OSU's schedule, which combined to have as much NFL talent as the entire WAC conferences sans Boise. What about the other 8 games? That's the whole point. -
karen lotzMy point was it was stated they needed to play NFL TALENT WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT. I pointed out a third of OSU's schedule that doesn't fit that description.
And again, its not just OSU. Its every team in a BCS conference plus Notre Dame. -
dlazzSure is a lot of Boise hate on this thread. I think Boise deserves a title game. They've done nothing to show otherwise.

Do you not see my point? I'm not being an smart ass, but its pretty clear.
It appears we are just arguing semantics, as you seem to take the phrase "week in and week out" literally. I didn't say that. But what I will say is that OSU faces more NFL talent in just two, maybe three, games than Boise does in twelve. -

Don't be so damn literal chief, week in week out, exponential body pounding, mental toughness.
Idaho and Nevada hardly will wear on you as much as Penn St. and Wisconsin. You know it. -
karen lotzYes I see your point, and I said I realize that OSU does have more overall talent on their schedule. Do you see my point at what I responded to several times?
-
cats gone wildI do karen, if others dont.....

Yes I see it, 1/3 no NFL talent...Boise State 1/3 total NFL talent. -
karen lotzHere is a serious question. Why is it that almost zero OSU fans can give any other program/conference credit for anything, yet fans of other teams can? Every OSU poster on here was bashing Boise St and saying they don't belong, and pretty much every non OSU fan was pulling for them/saying they deserve a shot? OSU fans despise ND, think the SEC is a complete joke in spite of their national dominance, discredit the talent Texas and USC have. Why?

Uggh I get sick of this argument. Seriously, although the middle of the pack to lower end of the ACC is better than most of the WAC, if Boise State was in the ACC, they wouldn't be playing Virginia Tech every week. They would play Va Tech, then probably play Duke, maybe Clemson, big game vs Miami, then they'd sleepwalk through Virginia, so on so forth. -

You're not correct in your assessment. I know one Florida fan who feels exactly the same regarding Boise.
I don't despise ND, and I respect what the SEC has done recently. I'm a huge Buckeye fan, so what? -
karen lotzdat dude, are you confused by the question?
