You're an idiot. Familiarize yourself with the Kendra situation then come back and compare it to Pryor's. Not even close. -

Unlike in Tallahassee......Ohio State wins Championships!!!!! -

So basically what you're saying is, just because TP plays for a national powerhouse even if he puts up mediocre stats and OSU goes undefeated hell be invited to NY because hell be overrated by the media?
You really think Ingram should have won the Heisman last year.....I sure don't.....There was a better running back with better stats who didn't win it....But Bama was playing for the National Title....thats how the system works..... -

Who put up better numbers against better competition?
I'll answer that: NO ONE.
Ingram rushed for 1658 yards and 17 tds in the best defensive conference in college football.
That makes him more Heisman worthy than any other running back.
Tell me a running back with better numbers against equally as good or better competition.
Lemme help you out, there was no one who played against better competition if they didn't come from the SEC. -
Hb31187Ingram put up better numbers than that RB when he did touch the ball Tiger. He just happened to have like 70-100 less touches than Gerhart(who ur talking about i assume)
-
Tiger2003Toby Gerhart 343 attempts 1,871 yards 27 TD's.... I truly Toby thought should have won the Heisman Just My Opinion.....

Gerhart was a monster and just my opinion he should have got it... -
lhslep134Gerhart: 5.5 ypc in the Pac 10
Ingram: 6.1 ypc in the SEC
'Nuff said.
By your logic, Harrell should have won '08 Heisman because he threw for 5100 yards, despite throwing 140 more times than Bradford but only had 400 more yards.
Terribly flawed logic.
I'm not denying Gerhart had a beast year, I had both him and Ingram on my fantasy college team, I've loved Gerhart since taking Stanford to the national championship in NCAA '09. All I'm saying is that Ingram was clearly better, judging by the per touch numbers and quality of competition. -

Ya but Toby had to carry the ball 25 times a game. Stanford didn't have the weapons that Bama had. Everyone keyed on Toby and he still rushed for 100 in every game except 2 and scored a rushing TD every game except 1. Take out a couple of games where Ingram rushed the ball 8 times for 91 yards 11.4 per carry against North Texas or 11 carries 102 yards 9.3 per carry, his average is way down.
Toby Only 2 games rushing without 100 Yards, and 1 game without scoring a touchdown
Mark 5 games rushing without 100 Yards, and 3 games without a rushing touchdown
I do see your point about the SEC but I still think Toby had a better year. -

Okay, and there's a HUGE difference between PAC 10 defenses keying on Gerhart and SEC defenses keying on Ingram. Ingram had 1600 yards while sharing carries, Gerhart had 1800 yards with no one else to run the ball.
The 5.5 ypc and 6.1 ypc tells me all I need to know. -
georgemc80Way to stay on topic guys....
KnightRyder wrote:Dan Kendra III was the top qb prospect in the nation also the usa today offensive player of the year in high school. FSU eventually moved him to full back
Any number one qb prospect, that would willingly change positions on day one...is not the recruit you want anyways. -

rock_knutnegeorgemc80;432530 wrote:So you are supposed to recruit the number 1 prospect in the nation.....NUMBER FREAKING ONE....who happens to be a QB and change his position on day one? That is something that you could have never done. Nobody does that to a #1 QB. This is not EA Sports NCAA football....you can't treat it like a video game. I find your comment very short sighted and impossible.
I find your comment as very narrow minded or uninformed! There were plenty of schools who wanted Pryor as a WR. One of the big reasons his decision was down to OSU and Michigan is because he had guarantees to play QB. You yourself said it in your post........#1 PROSPECT! He wasn't the best pure QB coming out of high school, not even close. Christ, I know all this and I'm not even an OSU fan but then again, he was in the news every fucking day in Pittsburgh drawing attention to himself over his choice of school........calling a presser to say he's narrowed it down to two or he needed more time after the signing deadline. So trust me, I had a hefty dose of Pryor when he was coming out of high school, I heard about ALL his offers and what position they wanted him to play every day! -
AutomatikWho wanted him as a receiver? Link?
-
rock_knutneAutomatik;432848 wrote:Who wanted him as a receiver? Link?
ND was one of them and he had NO guarantees from Penn State or Florida that he would play QB. You can look them up yourself........you guys and your "link?" bullshit are just lazy. -
AutomatikLazy is when you talk out of your ass.
OSU, UM and Oregon were the final 3 and all offered a QB spot.
Anyone who thinks OSU would be better off with TP as a receiver is a complete tard.....but I'm not surprised. -
WooballI agree TP should have been moved to receiver, I mean look at how terrible his #'s are compared to a guy that won the Davey O'Brien award in his 3rd season and had one of if not the best single game performance considering the stage:
Vince Young after 2 years of playing (redshirted 1st year on campus)
3,004 passing/18 TDs/18 INTs
2,077 rushing/25 TDs
Rose Bowl Performance end of sophomore season
192 passing/180 rushing/5 total TDs
Terrelle Pryor after 2 years playing (played as a true freshman)
3,398 passing/30 TDs/15 INTs
1,425 rushing/13 TDs
Rose Bowl performance end of sophomore season
266 passing/72 rushing/2 TDs/1 INT
Now I am not saying TP is going to pull a VY and just completely explode and have a phenomenal junior season, but it is absurd to say that he should be switched to WR. What do you expect from him? He basically just ran around in high school past guys that were far less gifted than he is. He didn't really have to play QB until he stepped foot on campus @ OSU. It takes some of these guys a couple years to learn how to play the position. From purely looking at the #'s, he has done a better job than Vince Young did his 1st two years in the passing game. I'll take OSU's chances with him at QB for another year or 2. -

Lazy is the definiton of your post auto, lazy is putting words in to someone's mouth!
Here we go again.......you're a complete fucking stooge! Did I post that OSU would be better off with him as a wide receiver? No I didn't! I said his developent would have been quicker and he would be a nightmare for DC's to prepare for at WR. So who's talking out of their ass now? You guys get so defensive when popeople don't agree with the FACT that Pryor isn't the world beater QB OSU fans think he is! -
AutomatikI said anyone....not you. You are the defensive one little guy. Do you know how many times I heard that he should have been a WR? TOO MANY. Its OLD.
Why would his development been quicker? Did he play WR in high school? Again....just trying to follow your logic. I've never said he was a world beater.....but I know for damn sure he'd put a hurting on your lowly Irish. On a side note....whos gonna be chuckin' the bean for them this season? -

devil1197God, another team that isn't relevant in college football today outside scandals and their HC retiring.
-
CinciX12Because history started in 2001. Lets all not forget that.

Nope, it didn't start in 2001 but its like a 50 year old bragging about his HS football days. Its not relevant in the present time. Maybe if I created a historial college football thread then teams like FSU, ND, and UM could post their accomplishments in that thread. I understand that teams have down periods, OSU has had their fair share. But during those down times I wouldn't be spouting off about a championship that happened 20 years ago.
