Meaning, he was the best player in college football INCLUDING quarterbacks. Was he a "good" passer that year and then got regressively worse the rest of his college career?
look at Tebow's stats for his soph year when he won the Heisman. 32 TD's 6 INT's passer rating of 172. He was slightly better than a "good" passer.

ok he had good stats, that doesnt make him a good passer. -
karen lotzexplain how someone who isn't a good passer throws for 88 touchdowns vs 16 interceptions in his career. Passer rating probably somewhere near 180. I know he had a slow, funky, wind up delivery but he was still pretty damn accurate obviously and was able to make all the throws. Those numbers don't just show up for someone who doesn't know how to throw the ball.

Are you trying to argue that Pryor is a better QB or even a better passer than Tebow? -
CinciX12Pick6;434053 wrote:ok he had good stats, that doesnt make him a good passer.
What? Yes it does. Thats why they gave him a heisman trophy. -
Pick6No, it takes no skill to hit a wide open reciever when teams have 8 in the box trying to stop you from running. Did Tebow "mysteriously" become a horrible passer during the senior bowl practices? lol

OUCH!karen lotz;434005 wrote:Last year stats:
Tebow: 2895 yds, 67.8 completion %, 21 TD, 5 INT, QB Rating of 164.17, which was the lowest QB rating of his career.
Pryor: 2090 yds, 56.6 completion %, 18 TD, 11 INT, QB Rating of 128.91, down from 146 his freshman year
Clausen: 3722 yds, 68 completion %, 28 TD, 4 INT, QB Rating of 161.43
Before you say Pryor is better because he is a dual threat at QB, remember that Tebow finished with 57 rushing TD in the toughest conference in the country and he split time as a freshman. -

Dude you're retarded.
Karen is 100% right here. You can't put up THOSE stats without being a good passer. Did you ACTUALLY watch Tebow play every game? No, you didn't. But I did. And he made some damn great throws out there.
Also, Jimmy Clausen is a better passer than Pryor. Does that make him a better QB? That remains to be seen, at least on the NFL level, because you can't compare Clausen playing in a pass happy offense for ND and Pryor playing in a balanced offense for OSU.
Back to Tebow, he threw the ball poorly during Senior Bowl week due to the CURRENT change in mechanics he was undergoing. You're so ignorant it's laughable. There's a reason he was taken in the first round, he was able to improve his motion enough between Senior Bowl and the draft to warrant a 1st round pick. -

I'm glad you said this. Did you watch the 2010 Pryor Highlight video that fellow Pryor slurper Automatik posted on this thread? Over half of the passes Pryor throws are to recievers with at least 5 yards of serparation between them and defenders. About another 10% are to check downs to running backs or screen passes where the back does all the work. Probably 80% of the plays are against the likes of Minn, INDIANA, NM ST, Toledo, Navy, and Illinois. That must take a lot of skill because of he plays for OSU right? -

Not really......
I'll stick to what I said about Pryor being a Top 3 quarterback. If he wants to stay there he is going to have to improve on this passing game but the passing game is not the only thing that makes Pryor so damn good.
What made Tebow so great??? It was not his passing it was that he could also run around and beat you with his feet. Just like Vince Young.... -

Jesus fucking christ you guys need to get the Tebow dick out of your mouth. PLEASE TELL ME WHERE I SAID PRYOR IS BETTER THAN TEBOW?!?!?! Of course you dickheads would make that assumption just to start shit. My point was that Karen said you have to be a good passer to be considered a good qb, which is why i brought up tebow. I NEVER SAID TIM TEBOW WAS A BAD FOOTBALL PLAYER. And dont give me that bullshit about him changing his mechanics.....uve been in fucking college for 4 years, i would hope you would have your mechanics figured out by then. -

Dude you really are a dumbass ignorant redneck. The entire reason Pryor was mentioned in my post was because someone was comparing him to Clausen, which I mentioned.
Nowhere in my post did I compare Tebow to Pryor. I was actually refuting your point that Tebow's stats were a result of his offense and not his throwing ability, to which I showed that because you didn't watch every Florida game, you wouldn't know how good of a passer he was.
I also never said that you said that Tebow was a bad football player. In the midst of your dumbass rant you randomly threw in those words for no apparent reason.
Lastly, no quarterback coach in college is going to attempt to change Tim Tebow's mechanics when his mechanics had already led him to 2 national championships (1 as a starter) and a Heisman trophy.
Tebow IS a good passer, as evidenced by his absurdly high PASSER rating.
I'm ashamed that you're a fellow Buckeye fan, when it's clear that you fit into the stereotype of a southern dumbass hick. -

No, actually it was his passing. He was past first, run second.
Vince and Pryor were both run first and throw second, only in Vince's junior year did he change, slightly, and even then it's arguable he preferred to run first.
If you want to put Pryor in the top 3, you need to wait until he changes from run first to pass first, but until then he's nowhere close to top 3. Your judgment is extremely clouded. -
