Sorry to burst your bubble SQ - but no man to man was played in the game against Struthers in either half.QuakerOats wrote:
Not only did they stop going inside to Toothman who was completely unstoppable in there; they also went back to the 2-3 zone or the entire second half and promptly gave up 40 points as opposed to the 15 in the first half when they were getting after them in a man. And as for the poor shooting, maybe we should be shooting a hundred foul shots a day per man instead of lifting weights --- I think that is nuts. And there is plenty more ........................................................... incredibly frustrating.CardsFlyinHigh wrote: As for the Salem/Struthers game, I don't know why Salem stopped getting the ball inside to Toothman after he dominated the first half, but Klucinec didnt shoot 6-of-16 from the line and he didnt start throwing the ball away during key possessions down the stretch.
However, I will give you that they waited way to long to take shots with the game on the line at the end -
SQ_CraziesNot bursting any bubble of mine, I didn't attend the game I was just basing that on what Oats said. Either way, doesn't change my opinion about the guy.

sonnyblackDeano, I still think Campbell will get to the District Final for the 5th consecutive year. Just off the top of my head, I thought Aquinas would be one of the top teams down there considering they too had a bunch of underclassmen. They seem to be struggling around the .500 mark however. East Palestine could make a run with their big man Gysin. I think Ursuline is the big question mark, they have size, but have they found any guards? They've played a tough schedule as usual, but I don't know if they have enough offense to carry them through. I'm surprised Gunther is still there. Should be interesting that's for sure.
Campbell at the Falls this friday, huge game in determining the eventual champion. -

Heck, it would not matter to me which teams they were. Farrell, Kennedy Catholic, New Castle, George Jr., Springfield, South Range, Mineral Ridge, Youngstown Christian. I can go on and on and on and on. Why does Campbell have only an 18 game schedule?cmhs_pride wrote: You know now that you have me thinking about it...I am starting to get annoyed. Why in the hell are there not 20 games on that schedule? How in the world can you be in a conference with 18 teams or so and not be able to schedule 20 games.....especially when half your games are already there for you? You play 5 teams twice....that is TEN games given to you.
You mean to tell me that the upper tier is that afraid to play Campbell at Campbell??? I want to believe that is not the case and it is plain laziness on the part of scheduling. I know a few teams don't want to come to Campbell where there is murder and violence on a daily basis..........ummmm....yea O.K..........but you mean to tell me that all teams in the other two tiers refused to play us? Really?
Whoa....gotta go.....gun shots are flying over the top of my house. -
CardsFlyinHigh
5 other teams in your tier, 10 games, plus 5 games against the White tier that are automatically given, thats 15 games. Your AD can only come up with 3 more out of league games?cmhs_pride wrote: You know now that you have me thinking about it...I am starting to get annoyed. You mentioned the upper tier teams, I can only speak for Canfield, and not getting Campbell on the schedule has nothing to do with the school or city but more the fact that Canfield is still D1 and they decided to go the route of scheduling schools like GlenOak and Massillon to get ready for the tournament.
Why you couldnt get any other schools, i have no idea. but thats just unheard of that you couldnt get a full schedule -
soupcity99It tough cmhs pride when have to grow up on the mean streets of Campbell lol but its funny living up hear around the cleveland area. I work or have worked with some people from the mahoning valley up here who are scared to death of our hometown. I get a kid good luagh at them sometimes. You know growing up on the mean streets of Whipple, Penhale, and sanderson ave were some rough times. lol
18 games should never happen. What going on? -
sonnyblackI see East Canton is undefeated and ranked in the top 5 of D3, are they at the Salem district, anyone know?
-
BigDean1
I saved my program from last years tournament. And I can tell you for sure that East Canton was not even in the Northeast District last year. So they must have either moved up in division or down.sonnyblack wrote: I see East Canton is undefeated and ranked in the top 5 of D3, are they at the Salem district, anyone know?
Aquinas plays a tough schedule. Perhaps that is why their record is what it is. Palestine has played well all year. -
wgh raideri thought east canton was D4 and at struthers??
-
wgh raidersonnyblack i looked it up east canton is in D3 at salem.i saw them play windham earlier in the year.they won going away but windham is having a down year.labrae beat windham by like 30+ recently.
-
sonnyblackThanks raider. If the rest of the season plays out as it has gone so far, they should get one of the top seeds. When's the draw?
-
sports_talkHey, laBrae is pretty good. They could of beat Campbell on the road. Actually if they make some fouls it is a different game. But in my humble opinion I think it is a 3 team race in Salem.
-
CardsFlyinHighI saw East Canton last year a couple time at Struthers, they were a young team and played really well, but unless they got substantially better, beyond normal growth in an offseason, I can't see them competing for the district title at Salem.

cmhs_prideCardsflyinhigh.....not buying it brother. Talking about your thoughts on why Canfield does not come to Campbell. I know you and you know me buddy and I have to tell you, not buying it.
You mean to tell me that a team like Campbell would not get Canfield ready for the tourney. Campbell plays Cincinnati Princeton, but Canfield can't play them? Nope.....they don't want to play them. Simple.
Canfield has a great program and an outstanding coach. I think they have the advantage on Campbell more times than not, but the Devils can go toe to toe with them and give them what they need for the tourney. You guys play Beaver Local twice.....are they helping you for the tourney?? Sorry buddy. Just disagreeing completely on that. -
CardsFlyinHighPride,
Beaver Local is in our tier, we are required to play them twice. Just pointing out that most of our non-confrence schedule is D1 teams with the exception of Mooney. It's not like their going out of their way to not schedule Campbell.
You might have some validity to what you say, but the people I know in the administration aren't thinking, 'lets not schedule campbell because it's a rougher area', if you look at our non-conference opponents, Mooney, Boardman and Fitch, all are good rivals, moreso then Campbell, Lake, GlenOak and Massillon are all teams they can see in districts, plus with a heavy stark county district, they need to get exposure in that area for seeding reason.
The only spot I can argue that Campbell could replace on the schedule is Hickory. Not sure the logic there. -
sonnyblackFor those who weren't able to make it to the Campbell/Newton Falls game tonight, watch the replay at 10:00pm on myYtv.

An amazing game. Jerah'me Williams is one of the best.sonnyblack wrote: For those who weren't able to make it to the Campbell/Newton Falls game tonight, watch the replay at 10:00pm on myYtv. -
CardsFlyinHighSaw the absolute worst officiated game of the season tonight in the Sebring/Leetonia game. Dont know who they were but that is a crew that should not be allowed ever back on a floor.
-
soupcity99Nice win for the red devils!!! Williams lead the way with 37 points.

Point noted. I don't get the logic of the Hickory game as well. Again....all you have to do is listen to alot of people talk like I do. Hard not to listen with some of the things that come out of their mouth. Ignorance my friend. Pure ignorance. Basically why this Valley becomes more and more seperated and segregated. Oh well.
The Falls vs. Campbell game tonight was another great rivalry game solidifying this matchup as one of the better games in the entire conference. Jeremy Williams and Lester Hughes tonight were outstanding. Hodge and I believe Jones had great dunks as well. -
cmhs_prideWOW...Brookfield over Labrae. Campbell with a 2 game lead in the tier. I think we are 9-3 and is it 6-0 in the tier......8-1 in the AAC???

All I can tell you about LaBrae is that Coach Kiser's guys win with class and lose with class. I have seen quite a few of their games. It is easy to win with class but not so easy the other way. i am very impressed and it takes a lot to impress me. This is one good team! Campbell is also a good team which is obvious.cmhs_pride wrote: WOW...Brookfield over Labrae. Campbell with a 2 game lead in the tier. This looks like another solid field which will make for a great tournament, as usual. I am looking forward to it.GoPens wrote:

I do have an opinion on game scheduling. Gentleme it may be as easy as pure economics. Hickory brings a lot of fans. I suspect AD's must balance the budget and need revenue to do that. I have been to many Campbell games and for some reason they just don't come. It is a shame for a couple reasons. They have a beautiful gym and are always cometitive in bball. I love their gym and a great place to watch a game. I doubt very much that Canfield is afraid of anyone in the area other the Harding. Just my humble opinion. I would only suggest that Campbell's AD is missing the boat. For gosh sake they scrimmage a ton of Pa teams every year. Why aren't they on the schedule? I am sure Farrell, West Middlesex, Neshannock and george Junior(coach D did coach there) could play them. Pa schools are allowed a whole lot more then 20 games. it is a shame they don't have the full 20. The young men deserve to play instead of pratice. Good luck in the scheduling.cmhs_pride wrote:CardsFlyinHigh wrote: Pride,
