royal_kLake over Woodmore 65-64
Otsego over Genoa 53-45
Gburg beating Eastwood surprised me. -
royal_kElmwood won a tuff one over VB 65-57. TJ Waldock and Jay Hannah with 19 each, Kevin Hammer with 10, and Jack Waldock 8.
Wauseon over Otsego 59-52. -
Swamp FoxI thiNk that Otsego is om their way now. They had a nice win over Genoa and a very respectable 59-52 loss against a pretty good Wauseon club. Everyone in the SLL will have their chance to knock Elmwood down a peg and Otsego gets their chance this week. I'm not sure anyone in the league can beat the Royals this year but Otsego will give it a good try, I'm sure.
-
royal_kThe Knights will test the Royals thursday at Otsego. They seem to be playing at a much higher level the last 2 weeks. After thursday Elmwood travels to PH. PH has wins over Tinora and Evergreen, so they should be a good challenge. This is a big week for them as they play 2 games on the road.

royal_kElmwood over Otsego 65-41
Defensive pressure too much for the young Knight team. TJ Waldock and Jay Hannah with 20, Kevin Hammer had 10. -
GCTD64Woodmore 57 Genoa 51... Things are not going good in Comet country right now!
-
bwcomet89Things are very quiet in Genoa right now. Does anyone have the standings? I don't get the newspaper so I have limited resources, or would someone have a link where I could find it?
-
Classyposter58Props to Coach Sander on the win over Genoa. Gotta love when the former assistant takes down his old boss.
Anyways here is the SLL Standings heading into Saturday nights games....
Elmwood (4-0)
Woodmore (3-2)
Eastwood (2-2)
Gibsonburg (2-2)
Lake (2-2)
Otsego (2-3)
Genoa (0-4) -
oberhausCould be a good game tonight as Elmwood goes to PH. The Patriots are a big surprise at 6-3. Wins include Tinora (2 losses), Evergreen (2losses) and Bryan. Losses to Napoleon, Leipsic, and Pettisville in OT. I havent seen them play this year yet.

royal_kAll teams are playing out of conference tonite on the road.
Eastwood at Toledo Christian
Elmwood at PH
Genoa at Cardinal Stritch
Gburg at Hopewell-Loudon
Lake at Swanton -
oberhausPH won 61-60 in OT
-
royal_kElmwood lost last nite at the foul line making only 11-25, and missing most in the 4th quarter when they could have put the game away. Bad officiating led to players losing their composure and it cost them a couple Ts. Hopefully they learn from this. Up 9 at the half and pretty much looking like the game was theirs.

birddog23Ouch on the free throws
-
birddog23SLL back in action tonight. Should be another wacky Tuesday for the league. I would give some predictions but at this point it is a complete toss up. We'll just have to wait and see til tonight is over lol

Haha wouldn't be much of a guess to call for a Genoa loss. Overmyer's seat has to be getting pretty hot, his former assistant beat him at Woodmore and his last assistant with Stritch almost defeated him as well. Add that to the fact that he had a D1 NCAA starting center and the best athletes in the conference in the last 2 years and couldnt win 15 games in either year, a change may be on the way -

It would be close but I would take Eastwood's basketball athletes over Genoa's from last years teams. -
birddog23Eastwood up 27-11 over Otsego at the half.
-
birddog23Eastwood 50 otsego 32
Otsego is bad. Smoyer just chucks 3's up and doesn't attack the rim. Limes looked good though.
Eastwood played pretty good for the most part. They got good play out of Faykosh and Jennings. -
royal_kElmwood over Gburg 68-33
The Royals got in a little foul trouble in the 1st half (3 players on the bench) and were only up 7 at the half. But they came out in the second half and dominated, outscoring the Bears 41-13.
10 players scored for Elmwood. Hannah led with 14. Hammer and Rosendale had 12. -
royal_kSLL standings
Elmwood 9-3 5-1
Lake 8-5 4-2
Woodmore 6-5 4-2
Eastwood 3-7 3-3
Gburg 4-7 2-4
Otsego 3-8 2-4
Genoa 4-6 1-5 -
Classyposter58That Genoa game versus Lake was an embarassment. If it wasn't for Sutter they would of lost by 40...he really was playing hard and well compared to the whole team who just kinda threw in the towel. I'm tellin everyone Genoa needs to change something if they ever want a competitive program right now because right now I'd say it's the 3rd sport in the winter behind Football lifting and Wrestling.
Anyways did anyone expect Woodmore and Lake to be a game out of first?
