Good question. -
FlashInteresting game tonight with NWn winning. I think were as good as anyone in the district even with an under .500 team.
-
CCRollyMy buddy and I were talking about this a week or so ago. Neither of us would be suprised if Orrville finds a way to win that District.

Mr. Russell, you didn't read what I posted.....Tell me where I said the WCAL is "scared" of Orrville? Oh that's right, I said the WCAL has a CHANCE this year in the district because Orrville and Triway are down. I never said they were scared of us.Mr. Russell;675300 wrote:OrrQb, WCAL schools aren't scared of Orrville on the hardwood and they haven't been recently, even Norwayne beat one of the state title teams. There is always a chance, in every sport come tournament time, you know that. Respect is definitely there, but never will they be scared.
Series....I don't make excuses like some people, sorry but your barking up the wrong tree with me and that issue. It's pretty obvious we are way down this year and any team in the district has a good chance this year against anyone. I don't see one team that can dominate the district, so that should provide some really good basketball games. -
OQBTonight's game was rough.....We played well and just weren't able to come away with the win.
Questionable calls tonight, how does ONE kid shoot more foul shots than our entire team.....I definately saw the Kobe/Lebron calls tonight and I'll leave it at that.
Very impressed with Turner tonight, his best game of the year imo. -
THE4RINGZTo use an old Orrville football analogy, Northwestern has really scheduled up this basketball season. Does it pay off in the post season?

Every single team in the district has a chance to win it this year.....Their isn't a team that really stands out to me this year, I see a bunch of the same type of teams in the district.
One thing is for sure, you never know what Orrville team will show up on any given night. haha -
OQBMcKean had 48, 25-25 from the line....set state record
-
Mr. RussellThere is always a chance to win if you are a good team. There are good teams out there besides Orrville and Triway. Maybe Coach Geiser wasn't too dumb last night doubling Brennan and getting it out of his hands....more coaches should have done that this year to him and Frizell!
-
Mr. RussellOrrville still obviously dangerous in the tournament, but if the refs do call the fouls and don't let physical play occur, they could definitely be in trouble.
-
BRFDude is a player. Nice kid, too. He came up into the stands to greet some Rider fans that he knew during the JV game. 25-25 is WOW! Did not know that's a state record. Many kudos!
-
OQBIt's a record for most consecutive in a game...great player indeed.
-
THE4RINGZDid Orrville run any trick defense against McKean (ie box and one, etc.)?
-
OQBMostly Man, occasional double team (help defense) I thought turner did a great job on him...just makes it tough when he gets so many calls his way.

So his 48 didn't beat you the officials did?OrrvilleQB;676248 wrote:Mostly Man, occasional double team (help defense) I thought turner did a great job on him...just makes it tough when he gets so many calls his way. -

Yeah, blame me for not cheering as the reason for the loss! You know what's really funny, whether you were sitting to my left, right, in front of or behind me, you heard my laughter (with fellow Rider fans, one of which was one the cheerleader's father), because you and the rest of the Red Rider fans in attendance weren't cheering either!riders1;675852 wrote:Yes, we can blame 62 for sitting in the stands and not cheering, just laughing it up the whole game, so why do you go?
You listen to comments of some of these guys on here with their sorry attempts to bad-mouth me, but if you were paying attention at any games, basketball and football especially, you would notice that Orrville fans are really sorry when it comes to cheering their team on with the exception of games against Wooster, Triway and Northwestern. The students spend most of their time standing and socializing with no interest at all in the game.
Perhaps you should pay less attention to me and more to the game and try and cheer yourself and then ask yourself...WHY DO YOU GO? -

Turner did play some good defense on him...the guy is simply a good baller. That other "defense", Pirman running over him and pushing him with reckless abandon is part of the reason for the many foul shots. His 48 was unstoppable!THE4RINGZ;676253 wrote:So his 48 didn't beat you the officials did? -
FlashI thought Turner, Brenner, and Winters all played better tonight. Is there room for improvement , yes, but this is a step forward. Mc Kean is a great player and if I'm The College of Wooster I'm falling over myself to get this kid. Great DIII player and can play DII. We didn't take the, Were going to stop Mc Kean approach, and let the others score approach, but took the lets put guys on him and try to wear him down and stop the others. Although I'm a mostly M to M type person , I think a zone with a tall player out front can stop them. Pirman was our go to guy tonight and wanted the ball. I thought we played better and a little tweeking can make us better yet, and that may be enough.

riders1I heard he ended up with 48 points.

FlashRingZ were you at the game? Everybody loves the small guy and especially the guy with a heart like McKean, but Wasson gets abused every game like tonights no call when the NWN player fell backwards without any contact , then tripped Zack) and there was no call. It was at the end of the game and would have tied the game up. Its not the reason we lost, but its disheartening to see as a fan and the ref's got the raspberry's for a good reason.

I know nobody is sitting in front of YOU, as you park yourself front row mid-court. Interesting that you tell rider1 to cheer more, when you yourself don't. Now I'll "move on". ha ha, as we minions say.Series62;676257 wrote:You know what's really funny, whether you were sitting to my left, right, in front of or behind me, you heard my laughter (with fellow Rider fans, one of which was one the cheerleader's father), because you and the rest of the Red Rider fans in attendance weren't cheering either!

Yes, they do indeed! BTW, I dig that avatar of yours. Someone else needs to come up with one.Flash;676272 wrote:Everybody loves the small guy
I agree with CCRolly. I think we can win this District. -
THE4RINGZ
No I was not at the game. My question about officiating was directed at OrrvilleQB. An old coach of mine once told me that officials never determine the outcome of a game.Flash;676272 wrote:RingZ were you at the game? riders1You have to remember that come tourney time it seems as if the officials call a completely different way than during the season. The tall official ( won't mention his name but he is from Akron) whom I have seen for years and remember him from his playing days for the Akron Goodyears on channel 23 years ago, needs to hang it up. Did he blow his whistle more than half a dozen times?
