    He was wrong. ;-)

    Officials aside.

With what little I know about playing defensive basketball ( ha ha) if my team is playing against McKean I am mixing up man, some top heavy zone (1-3-1 or 1-2-2 with a trap up top) and some diamond and two (denying the pass to McKean) I am mixing up my D each time down the floor to not allow him to get in a rhythm.

    Was the coach McCreary ?

He won a state championship playing for Roy Bates, he was never wrong. :)

The tall official ( won't mention his name but he is from Akron) whom I have seen for years and remember him from his playing days for the Akron Goodyears on channel 23 years ago, needs to hang it up. Did he blow his whistle more than half a dozen times?
Now this post brings back memories to BRF of those old days of channel 23 and the Akron Goodyears. Ah yes........... ANYHOW, it is a FACT that riders1 goes to many many games and has seen all the refs and (imo) is a very good source of info.

But don't even get me started on refs.

McCreary is younger than me so no.

Orrville has a heck of a team and more athlete's than any other team at the Wooster District. As a Husky, I sure in the heck hope they aren't in our side of the bracket, as I wouldn't want to play them again early. Orrville and Northwestern have a pretty good rivalry going over the last several years with some great games between the two, several games coming down to the last shot. Brennan is a great kid, and heck of a player, I'd love to see him at Wooster, short drive to watch him play! Where is Wasson going to school? He would be a great DIII player too.

I am impressed with your correct spelling of "rhythm"........especially at this hour! :-)

Not sure you can make a solid argument for good defense on a guy that scores 48 points and gets to the line 25 times.

    Amen.

That would be scary, I still say that Wayne County needs a "catholic school"

Ringz, I agree on how to stop him and I don't think there's a team in this district that can go any further than regionals. Not saying there aren't good teams , but no one has an inside outside game that is great. I think Orrville matches better against Smithville and NWN and not as well against Hillsdale. I think we will stay away from Hillsdale in the tournament and try to get one of the other two teams. I agree the refing will be different during the tournament where the little ball doesn't seem to be in the whistle as much. It may favor us due to the physicality of play, but we have not been consistent enough to feel confident.

It took us overtime last year at NW, with Bolyard, to win 82 to 79 .

A-He was speaking of the Lexington game as I and a couple of others were having a good conversation.
B-I told riders1 to cheer more because while he's busy complaining of my lack of "cheer", he (whoever riders1 is) and none of the other Orrville fans were cheering either!

I'm not special, to limit seating there makes no sense! The seats are open for use when there's a full house as in Wooster, Triway and Northwestern games, so what's the difference during any other game?

What has that to do with your "lack of cheer" yesterday?

Ringz, I am fine with the refs calling fouls....The only thing I was trying to mention is McKean is great at drawing contact (he initiates it all the time) then because he is a smaller guy the refs are calling everything...did we foul him tonight? Yes! Pirman put a couple football moves on him. lol Did we foul him enough to go 25-25 at the line....I don't think so. As Flash said, Wasson gets mugged and abused all night long and he hardly ever gets a call on him....especially with less than a minute to go in the quarter, half, or game. At one point the fouls were 10-2. haha ok I'm off my soapbox! :D

In the end, NO EXCUSES, we lost the lead late in the game, the Huskies won (congrats to you) we lost (again) and McKean is a great basketball player! (COW is licking their chops to get him) Should make for an interesting district.

Series....I see you had your BFF right beside you tonight...the scout himself! haha

Ok first off he didn't go to the line 25 times....he would've had around 50 free throws...lol but 25 of his 48 points were from the line and if you take half of those away we win. Turner played great defense on him, he is just that good and doesn't miss...even with a hand in his face.

Haha, it's funny you mention that. Isn't it because of the Wayne County schools the OHSAA is trying to get this multiplier passed now?

No doubt a catholic school could get some really good kids in this area.

Oh, and Wasson is going to Malone University to play basketball...They are NAIA right now but I believe his senior year will be the first year they are officially NCAA Div. II and in the GLIAC.

Went on a dinner date with the wife last night. Really wanted to see McKean in person though.

Wasn't terribly surprised we lost, Alberts always plays us tough.

So is his 48 the most scored by an opponent in our gym? Any other memorable performances by a visitor?

I seem to remember Larry Benning of Triway having a monster game in our gym many moons ago. Who else comes to mind?

Since Orrville doesn't have a swimming thread: Madison Monheim was second in the 200 free style and our girls 200 free style team was second and advance to districts .
