I don't think I've ever been billed for services provided by the Catholic Church. They survive on donations. Most people who have any education know that any organization needs money to operate, and the Catholic church operates within the requirements necessary for ANY non profit. More over...Catholic charities is one of the most highly rated charitable institutions with only 18% administrative costs. That's called marketing. It's a cost churches account for on their balance sheet. They know by being there your chances of getting hoodwinked increase 10 fold and you will become a paying customer soon enough

So you're okay with cocaine companies becoming non-profits?HitsRus;1159841 wrote:I don't think I've ever been billed for services provided by the Catholic Church. They survive on donations. It's called the pay-what-you-want business model. It's probably one of the few places it works; if not the only place.fish82;1159857 wrote:They're not? What do they charge? -

They both peddle materials that harm the intellect and rational part of the human being. I don't see the difference.fish82;1159859 wrote:LOL...I'll not likely see a shittier analogy this week. Well done, sir! -

Of course you don't. Color me shocked.:rolleyes:sleeper;1159866 wrote:They both peddle materials that harm the intellect and rational part of the human being. I don't see the difference. -

So, they're not really "charging" anything. Hence...free. If it really was a working "business model," I'd imagine more companies would give it a shot if it's as wildly successful as you seem to think.sleeper;1159865 wrote:It's called the pay-what-you-want business model. No other business works on the 'eternal damnation' side of 'giving what you can' either. You're guilted into it. There's a reason there's a term called 'tithing'.fish82;1159890 wrote:So, they're not really "charging" anything. Hence...free. If people choose to go that route, they're free to do so...or not.Sykotyk;1160350 wrote:No other business works on the 'eternal damnation' side of 'giving what you can' either. You're guilted into it. There's a reason there's a term called 'tithing'. -

It really only works when you don't have to pay taxes because you get a built in 35% buffer zone to help reduce cash flow issues. That's why its hard for other companies to use that business model.fish82;1159890 wrote:So, they're not really "charging" anything. Hence...free. Don't let that get in the way of your ignorance though. -

LMAO. Yeah, that's the reason. :rolleyes:sleeper;1160355 wrote:It really only works when you don't have to pay taxes because you get a built in 35% buffer zone to help reduce cash flow issues. That's why its hard for other companies to use that business model.

I'm curious how much they scam out of you every week? $20? That sucks. I put that $20 in a bank account for myself.fish82;1160461 wrote:LMAO. Yeah, that's the reason.
Still have the same percent chance of going to heaven as you. LOL -

Zero. Keep trying. I take my $20 to the casino and come back with $400, minus $80 for single malt.sleeper;1160462 wrote:I'm curious how much they scam out of you every week? $20? That sucks. I put that $20 in a bank account for myself.

Must be nice to disobey the Bible, the word of God, and still get into "heaven".fish82;1160564 wrote:Zero. Keep trying. I take my $20 to the casino and come back with $400, minus $80 for single malt.

HitsRusWhat business model says you don't need money to operate? There is no scam if you get fair value for the service provided. That's in the judgement of the person receiveing the service.....what you think is irrelevant.

You're assuming I care about getting there. That said...if anyone is cool enuff to pull it off, I'm probably the guy.sleeper;1160640 wrote:Must be nice to disobey the Bible, the word of God, and still get into "heaven".

So you'd be okay with paying someone to beat children and because I disagree with the service, what I think is irrelevant?HitsRus;1160669 wrote:What business model says you don't need money to operate? Wow, remind me to keep my children away from believers. -

I'll go there if it exists anyway. I am more powerful than God, I can talk, eat, sleep, poop, etc. And I can prove it too.fish82;1160687 wrote:You're assuming I care about getting there. That said...if anyone is cool enuff to pull it off, I'm probably the guy.
God can do NONE of those things. Pretty weak, but go ahead and devote your life to a maroon like God. -

Kind of like your entire belief system.HitsRus;1160760 wrote:strawman...like I said..your input here is irrelevant. -
HitsRusMy "belief system" is not your concern. What you believe in or don't believe in doesn't concern me except when you attempt or advocate attempting to limit what is my constitutional right.

Ironic. My "beliefs(or lack of)" don't try to prevent homosexuals from getting married or prevent women from having control over their own bodies.HitsRus;1160793 wrote:My "belief system" is not your concern. What about their rights? Or are you better than them? -
HitsRusMy beliefs don't either. I really don't care that you are a homosexual. I think there are a lot of Christian churches that would be okay with you being able to get marriied, others would be okay with it but would rather have it called 'civil unions' . Others may object...and may not let you be part of their church....so go somewhere else there's no requirement to belong to a church. What's your beef?

Religion is the beef. It's illogical, irrational, regressive, and its not based on fact, and it never will be.HitsRus;1160807 wrote:My beliefs don't either. It corrupts the intellectual integrity of a majority people who could be doing something useful with their lives rather than trying to legislate from a 3000 year old fiction novel and disparaging science, ya know the real culprit behind our high standard of living, as junk.
