I'm certainly not playing the "Nazi Police" card like you, but it's refreshing to see someone else thinks this was excessive.Thinthickbigred;1066241 wrote:Those Nazi officers need locked up for life what they did was murder that guy plain and simple . They even had a dog at there disposal and the perp didnt even have a gun . How man shots you going to put into that man and why .. This aint Nazi Germany people . All you right wing facists that celebrate this crap would not if that were a family member . Sure he deserved to be executed like that . Small town pigs Ill bet they were. They will all get commondations for murder what a joke .. Its criminal though to repeatadly beat a man on PCP with clubs . " Rodney King" anybody . Atleast he is still alive
And for the record (see bolded quote above), this happened in LA. -
Gblockim not sure i have ever agreed w snot on anything but 10 shots seems excessive to me...

Ha! Nah, it's my opinion, I'll stick with it. I'm all for police using lethal/deadly force when the situation calls for it. I just don't see the need for it in this instance, and I certainly think if it was needed...that it was obviously excessive deadly force (if that's not a real thing, it should be).SportsAndLady;1066257 wrote:Snot I think you should concede defeat..you got thinthick and dlazz on your side; abandon mission! abandon mission! -

In any case . I just aint one of those right wing nuts that backs the cops or in this case PIGS at every turn . They had a dog . they had mace they could move freely WTF was that crap .. Pizzes me off that people are so flip about it or side with those criminal PIGS!! I cant say PIGS enough . LOL sure thats a reason to put 10 slugs in a guy LOL never mind . Lets let those cops get more power Too bad the guy was white because he has no backing whatesoever . It would be all over every news channel if the guy were black . I dont think the guy was latino eitherIliketurtles;1066082 wrote:Too bad he never shot himself while high on drugs.
But I agree with everyone else. If the guy didn't want to get shot and killed he should have 1)Not been committing a crime and 2)Not disobey the Officers. -
WebFireSpray mace at a guy that is high as a kite while he is beating you on the head with a crowbar. Yeah, that would work.

GblockWebFire;1066263 wrote:Was shooting justified to begin with, IYO?
i cant see the video at work and dont have the facts...but in a situation where a guy has a crowbar i would rather see officers retreat a little and give him some space in order to try to preserve a life. unless he is chasing you w a crowbar and you really feel like your cornered i dont like this shooting really. but i guess it is justified. however was he not subdued after the 4th shot? 5th shot? 6th...? etc? -

First off, I'm not one to ask for perfect grammar or spelling. But your inability to even write a post that would pass as reasonable really detracts from your opinion. It is hard to give credence to someone who probably can't pass the eighth grade.Thinthickbigred;1066264 wrote:In any case . Secondly, everything you spoke to has been answered. They tried to subdue him with less force (Tazer), that did not work. At that point he got the metal object ready to swing and advanced towards the officer. Yes, they had a dog, but it has been explained by those who know that in that instance they are to not use it as it puts the dog at risk.
They absolutely did the right thing in shooting to take the guy down.
The only question here is about the second burst of 5 rounds by another officer. But the guy is out of sight at that time, so it is hard to see what is going on. Also, there was not a long delay between the 2 sets of 5 rounds.
The actions of the individual are what got himself killed. This is not the cops fault. The guy was going bezerk at a business. He was smashing up the windows per the story. When he came out he did not seem to be surrendering himself. The cops taze him. He starts advancing towards the officer wielding a metal object. They shoot.
If at any point the guy decided to stop, he does not die.
I'm not one to always stand up for cops. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty liberal when it comes to a lot of issues (especially when compared to the community on this board). However, this guy dug his own grave with his actions. -
dlazzI so agree with you, snot. It's not like the guy was probably on drugs, unstable, and yielding a weapon.

I assumed he was being sarcastic initially. It's a matter of opinion which makes it fun to debate.Fly4Fun;1066301 wrote:I think your initial sarcasm didn't come across this heavy. -

Dog- a cop isn't going to send his partner (dog) to attack a man with a crow bar.
Mace- on the same level as tasing. You don't use the same level of force after the perp keeps coming.
Freely move- it is not the cops job to run away from the guy. If he is chasing them with a crowbar that's intent.
murder- murder would have been that guy killing the dog or other cops
White- so you're saying you support minorities screaming hate crime when it really isn't relevant? -
Iliketurtles
Probably not but I'm not trained in that profession. If someone does not want problems with cops don't commit a crime and obey their orders when you get caught. It's pretty simple.Thinthickbigred;1066270 wrote:LOL sure thats a reason to put 10 slugs in a guy LOL never mind . You asked if I would feel differently if they was a member of my family... no I would not. I would be sad that I had lost a family member but I wouldn't be pissed at the cops for doing their job. -
Gblocki have to lol at all those acting like the guy with the gun is in any real danger against a guy w a crowbar...in 1000 instances the guy with the gun wins 1000 times. or else you are the worst cop in history of all cops and you dont deserve to be in the position.

Only if you pull the trigger, which he did. Had he tried some other method he may have had his skull bashed in.Gblock;1066434 wrote:i have to lol at all those acting like the guy with the gun is in any real danger against a guy w a crowbar...in 1000 instances the guy with the gun wins 1000 times. or else you are the worst cop in history of all cops and you dont deserve to be in the position. -

That was a really dumb statement given the situation and outcome.Gblock;1066434 wrote:i have to lol at all those acting like the guy with the gun is in any real danger against a guy w a crowbar...in 1000 instances the guy with the gun wins 1000 times. or else you are the worst cop in history of all cops and you dont deserve to be in the position. -

Depends on how close I am to you and whether you already have your weapon pulled. If I'm within a couple of steps, I'll split your head with the crowbar and you'll never get off a shot.Gblock;1066434 wrote:i have to lol at all those acting like the guy with the gun is in any real danger against a guy w a crowbar...in 1000 instances the guy with the gun wins 1000 times. or else you are the worst cop in history of all cops and you dont deserve to be in the position.

Gblockthere is precedent for this situation i can remember 6-8 years ago a guy from detroit was shot by some cops and he either had a rake or a garden hoe in his hand it was a big case on court tv if i remember the cops were found not guilty

Citizens in most states would be found to be acting in self defense in most cases too.Gblock;1066463 wrote:there is precedent for this situation i can remember 6-8 years ago a guy from detroit was shot by some cops and he either had a rake or a garden hoe in his hand it was a big case on court tv if i remember the cops were found not guilty
What presents a problem is if the cops truly "finished him off" which brings a murder charge. Look at the kid in Sunbury who shot his stepdad. It was a good shoot till he was heard on the 911 tape saying "im going to finish him off" and shot him in the head. -

You say they did the right thing by shooting that VICTIM and he was a victim of the police state .
This isnt China you moron . You same people that condone excesive police behavior are the same nuts that have your houses filled with guns and ammo
