Is Rule #3 Being Followed?

GoChiefsSo you talk down about a site...then you post a link about another site to join? Guess justin shouldn't allow that either! Lol

Not to mention that it's the same site we have a thread about on the Mod forum due to how people have gotten virus threats/notifications from it. Hope those have gotten cleared up (as of 12/8, they hadn't according to that thread), as I'd hate people to get infected.GoChiefs wrote: So you talk down about a site...then you post a link about another site to join? GoChiefsAh yes..I forgot about that..upon further checking..no..it hasn't been cleared up yet. Lol
-
buckeyefallsHeretic,
Months ago Norton filed a complain about a spyware issue from our stat-tracker which wasn't a virus. They have yet to remove it.
I have told Justin that there is NO issue, but Norton is VERY slow and resolving their issues.
I'll give you $1 million dollars if you can find a problem with my site.
By the way, my host server will block the site if it poses any threats to anyone until we have deleted/resolved any issues.
Get your facts straight before you post.

Lol? GoChiefs, It has been cleared up, months ago. Just because Norton's service department hasn't made a change, it doesn't mean that it hasn't been cleared up.GoChiefs wrote: Ah yes..I forgot about that..upon further checking..no..it hasn't been cleared up yet. Lol
Again, maybe you all need to get your facts straight before you look too foolish.
Again, my offer stands, go to the site and I'll pay you $1 million if you can prove there is a virus or dangerous issue with it if you can prove you got it from there.
Lol at some of you over here. You have a very nice site, but it is sad to see the arrogance that persists among some of you as well. -

Guess what..it's not Norton..I don't have Norton..I use AVG..and it comes up with Firefox..it's intermittent..yes..but at times when you go there..it comes up that it is an attack site. Call it arrogant on our part..I call it ignorance on your part. You claim you will pay someone a million dollars..and you have the nerve to say it is WE that will look foolish? :rolleyes:buckeyefalls wrote: Lol? GoChiefs, It has been cleared up, months ago. buckeyefallsI'll put my ignorance up against your arrogance any day of the week. If there are other security software programs with the same issue, I'd be glad to contact them as well and let them know there is no such issue.
Do you think I'd allow my site, which has is connected with a television station, many school's programs, and advertiser's provide a hazard to folks?
The issue we had, if you must know wasn't even a serious threat. Norton (and I guess yours as well) had an issue that I had malware/spyware system which could track our visitors. It was provided at the bottom of our page. We removed it and deleted the hazards from our cpanel.
Again, no issues with our site. If your security is stating that there is, I'd be happy to clear it with them.
Until then, any day you'd like to put up ignorance vs. arrogance, just let me know.

Big_Mirg_ZHSYou keep making comments about this 45 percent that doesnt like swearing. Well since you say since 45 percent don want it we should outlaw it. What about the 55 percent that do? The majority gets screwed? If that was the case we could still smoke in bars in Ohio.

buckeyefallsI don't pride myself on the message board, I pride myself on our growth in 1 year and how our site is growing as far as NW Ohio coverage of HS sports, schedules, pictures, and more.
Our message board exists for the few who wanted it.
It is slow, meaning not many are active over there, but that's fine...those who want to post can and do.
And at least our advertisers, our schools, and our members can come to a site and not have to worry about thread titles, words inside posts, etc.
It's a much safer environment for those who don't need to swear to feel "big" about themselves.

Newsflash, we swear on here because we swear in real life. It has nothing to do with making ourselves fell bigger. If anything its the other way around. Well..here's an example where you talk about not returning to this site b/c you don't like the rules. Plus..you mention how it SHOULD have been a fun place for most of JJ's..meaning..that site blows. I'll go when I WANT to go. Unless you all decide to ban me. I'm answering questions that have been brought up and refuting what is wrong.
So...you'll pay me $1 million dollars to prove that my site doesn't have the issues you are discussing?
Where you want to meet? I can prove it easily.
I have the name of the "worm/danger" that I was asked to delete when it arose and I can show you my cpanel and how it has been deleted and that there are no issues.
Make sure to bring the million in $5's and $10s

How do I know what you allow on your site? I don't know you..IMO..why would ANYONE allow there site to be an attack site? So yeah..you better contact AVG..or Firefox..could be either one of the two..and if me warnings other about potential attacks of another website is being arrogant..then so be it..so yeah..I'll put that up against your ignorance 'any day of the week'.buckeyefalls wrote: I'll put my ignorance up against your arrogance any day of the week. Congrats...cookie? Anyone can get on this site and see what the content is about..any advertiser, school, or member can see what it's about. You act like the content is hidden or something? If it's something they are worried about..they obviously won't be here. Just like if anyone has an issue with your site..they won't be there either. Is that really a hard concept to grasp?buckeyefalls wrote: And at least our advertisers, our schools, and our members can come to a site and not have to worry about thread titles, words inside posts, etc. -
buckeyefallsWhy would someone allow their site to be an attack site? Well, my friend, the majority of times it happens without any warning and you have no control over it.
Secondly, I'll say it again, what they found, what NOrton, and others I guess, have considered an "attack site" is that they found a potentially dangerous spyware worm which was from our stat-tracker. It wasn't a dangerous one, but labeled potentially dangerous and it had the ability to become serious.
However, the host that we have does the job for us of catching anything like this. As soon as they did, we were notified, the site was shut down and we deleted the stat tracking cookie that really wasn't a danger, but since sites considered it, we got rid of it.
Anyone who may have accessed our site while we had it on there would have had the message come up and it would have stayed on their site ANY TIME afterwards until Norton and the other places examine it again and get back with us.
I have NO problem whatsoever you, or anyone else, alerting that they saw that. In fact, I would have done the same.
What I am saying now, to you and others, is that it is not anything to worry about and that the issue is fine. -

Plus, I don't believe you about your site being safe. I'll have my brother in law look at it. He is a programmer for the OSCC (Ohio SuperComputer Center) and developed some of the Predator Drone control software... In other words, I value his opinion on that stuff over anyone else's.
Also, your arrogance precedes you, you keep talking about swearing to "feel big", yet you're arrogant. But tell me, where does that end? How about a billionaire swearing in a conversation with industry equals? How about the President? Aren't they already "big"? I mean, being the President of the U.S., being at the top of your industry... I don't think they swear so that they can "feel" big. -
buckeyefallsGo Chiefs,
Clean out your eyes and listen to what I'm saying.
I NEVER said that a school couldn't see the content, etc. I NEVER said it was hidden.
What I said is that those types of places may come on here to see what this site is all about (and it has the potential to be an even better site) but once they see posts with titles (Boobs, Booty, etc.), or if they open a post and see the language written all inside, most likely they will block it from their schools, etc.
That's their choice.
Either way, READ what I am saying, don't reply to what you THINK I'm saying.

buckeyefallsLJ,
When did I say I didn't like it here? You all are too quick to reply and not slow enough to read. I said the site is a great site! I like it; however, I AGREED with the simple fact that this site has a rule but it really isn't followed to the t. That's it.
I also suggested that by filtering a little more, maybe more people would enjoy the site. I mean, if there are 1% of people out there who won't come back because they don't like it, then why not try to keep that 1%. Are you saying that people are going to leave because they can't drop the f bomb every other topic or post? I doubt it.
My life isn't sad, is yours? When have I talked down to a person before they've talked down to me?
Go ahead and talk to your brother. I'm sure you'll come back here and make something up, but if you want to settle it, let's meet up. I'd be happy to prove anything that they say negative against it (regarding virus/safety concerns). You can value his opinion and honestly, like I've already written, had I been in your shoes, I'd warn people not to go to it either.
But since I have a voice here and I saw someone mention it, I thought I'd clear the issue. - By the way, I'd be happy to give your brother $1 million as well if he can prove that that stuff is still in our cpanel or on our site. I'm not worried because it isn't. Again, our host server would have our site banned from the internet if it was.
Contact them for yourselves. www.hostmonster.com Ask them if a site they hosted had a virus/worm in it, would they allow it to be up anymore? Tell them about our site and ask them if there is still an issue with it?
Also, how does my arrogance precede me? Do you know me?
I'm not trying to be argumentative or never intended, if you read the posts from last night. I'm only responding to those who feel the need to attack first.
I can't answer for the president or a billionnaire, can you?
What I simply mean by that is that people swear for a variety of reasons, but can't they write the English language without having to drop in words that don't make sense in the context most of them use them in? -
buckeyefallsDon't you have the power to take it out of here?
So, we don't have the right to our opinions here either? Wow.

And here ya go..here is a thread from the other site.. http://www.jjhuddle.com/forums/showthread.php?t=235840 ..now..go over there and bitch about it! And who cares if a school blocks it?
