Is Rule #3 Being Followed?
-
cats gone wildNot from what Ive read since being on this site.
3.limiting the swearing as much as possible in posts. Profanity isn't banned but keep it under control
And also, why do we even allow swearing on a sports site anyways? Do we really need it? Im on other sports sites and they do fine without it. I know I dont run this site, but Im sure there are a bunch of 12-16 year olds who dont need to read every cuss word under the sun, or get on topics "boobs, booty, lingerie match"......etc -
GoChiefsThen go to those sites? If the worst to happen to those 12-16 yr olds that could see this site is that they read a few curse words..then good for them. If you don't want swearing..you could always pony up $12.00 and go elsewhere. I'm sure you are in the minority that has a problem with swearing..justin isn't going to be able to please everyone. I know he doesn't want to be a dick like the ones that ran the other site were. The fact that you had a little more 'freedom' is what drew most people to this site. Plus..where did anyone say this is a sports site?? There is sports forums for those interested..but that doesn't mean this is a sports site.

tuskytuffguyAnd besides, looking at the pics of boobs and booty might inspire them to abuse themselves rather than go out and bump some uglies.
-
Glory Daysi dont mind the swearing aslong as its used correctly, but i do think some people think swearing=being an adult or they think because they swear people will listen to them or something.
as for the boobs, booty and lingerie threads, its nothing you cant see on tv. -
ts1227They're just words. Sure, they bother some people but when you look at the ground rules here it is laid out that it is permissible, so at that point you have been warned.
There is nothing here that a minor has not seen or heard or cannot see/hear anywhere else. Also it's nothing illegal.
If parents don't like it, they can actually parent and start watching their child's online habits. It's not Justin's job.
Hell, I have more problem with the fact that we have inconsistent rules regarding it. The same demographics visit each and every board here yet there are 3 different wordings/enforcements of the swearing rules between the HS boards, college boards, and this one. So long as it is not directed at players/coaches/admin I fail to see why it is governed much as it is. -

God forbid parents should actually have to..ya know..PARENT!!!ts1227 wrote: If parents don't like it, they can actually parent and start watching their child's online habits. It's not Justin's job. -

You're right, you don't.cats gone wild wrote: I know I dont run this site
This has been rehashed at least 5 times now. Get over it. -

People came to this site because they didnt want to pay the 12 dollars. And besides, there is only 3 rules on this site, and rules are rules.tuskytuffguy wrote: And besides, looking at the pics of boobs and booty might inspire them to abuse themselves rather than go out and bump some uglies.
tusky.....you made me laugh.
On the LSU site Im on, they have an option where you dont have to see cuss words, where they substitute it with other words. But people who use swear words or want to see them can. -

oh i agree, but no matter how much parenting parents try to do, kids will always find a way.LJ wrote:

No..but when I didn't..and they found out..I got my ass busted for it..or they took something away..that made me think twice the next time I wanted to decide whether or not to disobey them.Glory Days wrote: haha yeah, but remember back to when you were a kid. did you always do everything your parents told you to do? -
Laley23I like it. It is real. Its what makes shows on HBO/Showtime better than shows on ABC/FOX. You think Jack Bauer doesnt let the F Bomb drop a few times during those days?? Fuck no.
I cant stand people being censored. It is the way people talk, ESPECIALLY in sports. -

.....but you still did it and it cant be undone.GoChiefs wrote:

GoChiefsWell if your that worried about cursing..stay on the HS forums..it's not allowed there!
-

Made the mistake of doing it once..yes..didn't dare do the same thing twice..as was already pointed out..it's called 'growing up'.Glory Days wrote: .....but you still did it and it cant be undone. -
ts1227And as someone else mentioned, there are PLENTY of other boards out there. Not to scare people off (I don't think this will be an issue) but you are free to take your business elsewhere.
You can pay $12 to have a board run by the internet equivalent to the KGB, or you can post for free and deal with a little more "real" conversation. Or, go somewhere completely different. No one is stopping you. -
MulvaThe 12-16 year olds you are worried about probably swear more than anybody who posts on here.

It seems the czar of the high school forums does not allow anything, over there, actually!!GoChiefs wrote: Well if your that worried about cursing..stay on the HS forums..it's not allowed there!

cats gone wildAs suspected, no one will answer my question about rule #3. Why have it a rule if 95% posters aint following it?

Czar? Is he now on Obamas payroll?
Has he been confirmed?

Apparently your opinion of keeping swearing under control is out of line with 95% of this site.cats gone wild wrote: As suspected, no one will answer my question about rule #3. Why have it a rule if 95% posters aint following it? -

Lovejoy19843. Keep it safe for work. That means no nudity, no swearing in thread titles and limiting the swearing as much as possible in posts. Profanity isn't banned but keep it under control.
Lets see. No Nudity, Check. No Swearing in thread titles, Check.
Seems like the rule is being followed.
Happy Holidays.
