Have The Majority of American Men Become Wusses?

  • MANAZE
To many American men today are more worried about getting their nails done than doing real work. To many children are born to the same "father" but with different mothers and will never be in their childrens life. So many of us run from hard work and responsibilites. We rather live at home with our mothers untill they die than go out and make it on our own. What in the last fourty years have changed this country and her men? Being a man, a husband and a father is something to be proud of.

Going to work and working hard and giving the best you can give to your family is something to be proud of. No matter if you are waiting tables or making steel providing for your family is being a real man. Now it is ok for men to stay at home and not work. Not earn money and not take care of the children he brings into this world. I don't know what we can do to fix these problems with the "men" of today but something has to happen or before we know we are all going to end up looking like the people on Wall-E.

Speak for yourself dude. I hold my shit down and so do a lot of other men.
  • MANAZE
I agree alot of men do. But in reality there are more of us who don't that do.
  • ss7
There is no way that you have any factual information to back this up so what is the point? Yes, there are a lot of bums out there that don't pull their weight but I don't think they are the majority.

    This.

I don't know how much of the "real" world you two have seen but lets just say anyone in college or less isn't holding any "shit" down. Also trust me look around you the next time your at work or in the mall and just look at the men there. I'd say most of them don't have any shit to hold down.

I work mostly hard labor type jobs not the office type of guy. I work on an 8 acre sports complex and also work for a tree service and do landscaping on the side. Currently have one blood blister and four busted up areas on my hands. I also sell and split firewood in my free time, most guys twice my size couldn't handle some of the work I do!

When you don't stay with the mother of your child the support agency gets a hold of your balls and rips and twists them and it's kind of hard to get ahead. Although I'm almost to the point where I can buy my own house I worked hard to get where I am. Thankfully the housing market fell apart when it did, I will be buying next year right at the bottom of this mess.

What upsets me the most is the people that live off the Gov. cheese don't work (and don't wanna) and are better off than I am there is something wrong with that picture.

hmmmm...you don't know how much of the "real" world I've seen???
I'm in my 5th decade in this big show...I've lived in some of the biggest cities.... and baled hay on a farm..... and lived at the bottom of the food chain.... and lived closer to the top.... I'd be willing to bet that these "men" you are dissing have more in common with you than with me.

this thread (one of your many lame ones)=Fail.

I'm 26, married, own a house, own two cars, have investments, have a job...that's the real world. Does that give me authorization to speak?

My point is that you are making a very very broad statement that you couldn't possibly support with factual information. It's one thing to bash men who are bums and don't take care of their families. I'll join you there. It's another thing to say that the majority of men in America don't take care of their families and responsibilities. That just doesn't make sense.

I agree with the "wuss" part. Many men still work hard, but we, as a society, have become a bunch of pussies.

I agree with that when saying society as a whole. America is too sensitive.

    This thread is awful.

Do you also think that women shouldn't work and should stay home all day to raise the kids and cook?

haha, This thread is a bit ridiculous, if I do say so.

    Anyone in college or less?

I'm confused, first you take on American men on the whole, and discuss being fathers and husbands....and then you say anyone in college or less....Idk. I suppose I'm just confused by your overall point.

It's the wussification of American men. Lots of variables have bought it about. Have even heard it started with the suffrage movement and women were given the right to vote. Not saying I agree with that, just saying I heard it discussed.

How much of the real world have you seen? I have served in Iraq, I am 27, have a full time job, own more than half a dozen investment rental properties and also have a college degree. Who are you to judge others on this thread or in this world?

You consider yourself a man? Prove it to us by quitting bitching.

I outright own 5 of 7 properties ( the other two will be paid off soon enough) and I am 27. You're tired of hearing people have been to Iraq? Yes, 100,000's have been there and I guarantee you are not one of them.

The fact you are getting so upset about everyone calling you out on this thread just throws you into the category of the men you are BITCHING about. Man up and quit bitching.

No, I learned how to read long ago. Maybe you should have learned to express your feelings without whining.

LOLZ....dude, I'm so confused by what you're talking about. I don't even know what men are doing that's drawing your ire, because you've jumped all over the place and made little sense in doing so. I think PEOPLE really need to step up in some aspects of their lives, but to say that the majority of men, bla bla bla....I can't get with you there.

Unless all of this is a joke, which it very well could be.
