dancinbearDo you guys know how bad weed would suck if it were legalized? Ciggs used to be all tobacco and rolled at home....now they are filled with chemicals and carcinogens. I don't smoke anymore, but legalizing pot would really put the integrity of the current product in detriment.

talk about not paying attention, just stop now. Average murder sentences are 16 years. in the example you gave, that would be aggravated murder, so its either a life sentence(with parole eligible after 25 years) or death. Drug possession is about a 4-5 month sentence. Drug trafficking is about a 6 year sentence. All marijuana sentences combined average about 3-4 years. and both types of cases, murders and drugs, can be knocked down. i dont know why you just picked murders.SQ_Crazies wrote: A dude shoots someone in the chest while committing a robbery, his lawyer knocks his sentence down to 6 years.
A dude gets his door kicked in and his house searched by the cops and they find a few pounds of weed, he gets 10-15.
Who is the criminal?
What is the average sentence for attempted murder?

there is legal drug that uses synthetic THC that is more effective than medical marijuana. it is also pretty well documented that alcohol in moderation is good for your heart.Fab1b wrote:bamagirl wrote: The difference is while I have to take a Migraine pill to get through the day it actually has medical benefits. Really that is your reply, like one said what is the medicinal value of alcohol, tobacco, etc.....and the green has many medicinal values and is used in many forms to treat several ailments including cancer, glaucoma, pain issues, the list goes on and on.... -
I Wear PantsNotice that your link was a .gov link. Of course they tell you that weed will make you murder your mother.
And you're saying that the average sentence for attempted murder is life? I highly doubt that. Especially since you said "Average murder sentences are 16 years. ". -

Fab1bCan you show me something not written by the govt that shows 1 joint is = 100 cigs? I am not saying smoking a joint is good for your lungs but I am willing to be bet a cig contains more carcinogens. If I am just smoking straight bud off the plant no chemicals added, through a pipe where are the harmful chemicals that are added to cigs? Of course there are natural carcinogens as well. If I use a paper sure there will be chemicals in a paper if I roll a joint.

OTTAWA, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- A Canadian report says marijuana smoke contains more toxic compounds, including ammonia and hydrogen cyanide, than tobacco smoke.
Researchers, including David Moir of the Safe Environments Program in Kitchener, Ontario, determined ammonia levels were 20 times higher in marijuana smoke than in tobacco smoke, while hydrogen cyanide, nitric oxide and certain aromatic amines occurred at levels 3-5 times higher in the marijuana smoke, Science Daily said Tuesday.
The study was published in the Dec. 17 issue of American Chemical Society's journal Chemical Research in Toxicology

Gblockwow this thread is blowin up....i saw something that said that its down to 55 percent of people who dont think it should be legalized that is the lowest number yet...i think it was on bill mahr(spelling) show

Those other studies don't take into account any benefits from the THC so it's likely less harmful than they would like you to think.
We aren't arguing that it's good for you or that it can't cause cancer or that you should be allowed to drive while high. But I still fail to see why marijuana is especially worse, or worse at all, than many other completely legal substances. -
I Wear PantsAnd you wouldn't be at risk for lung cancer or asthma if you didn't smoke marijuana. Which isn't the only way to use it.

dwccrewThis argument again? How many times can we have this argument? People aren't going to change their opinions. We should just put it to a vote in this country. If it passes, it passes. If not, continue making money on the black market.

dwccrewLet me add that I think we should vote on the legality of alcohol and cigarettes as well.
-
I Wear PantsThen we should vote on it every ten years or something. Because it's an outrage that the beliefs of one generation so affect those of another.
